Uh ooo, another long post from pappy...

Uh ooo, another long post from pappy...

...Never tried the Hanis, actually never heard of it but I'm not too familiar with most breeder stuff out there.

Got the RHS on a whim for 20 bucks on a 4/20 sale at seedbay. Had heard it won 2nd place sativa at the denver canna cup so I bought it...

Smart man. For future reference, id be willing to bet anything Tierra Rojo breeds and releases is gonna be pure gold. He is somewhat of a phenom and had lots of commercial agriculture experience prior to growing/breeding cannabis. He also is a big proponent of the teachings of Luther Burbank, running large numbers for the best selection. As opposed to Subcool, who runs 10 plants at a time like me. Not to say some great breeding isnt being done on smaller scales. It definitely is. But id guess the odds of finding something amazing if u have a lot of plants to choose from are better.
and I think TR actually just built a state of the art breeding/growing facility in Colorado. One of the biggest in the world.
But anywho, that hanis is supposed to be killer. Its a cross of an Kunduz Afghani x (Pre-’98 Bubba Kush x 1994 Positronics Haze). I belive TR collectED the Kunduz Afghani from Afg"hanis"tan himself.
The hanis is also renowned as an excellent hash making strain. fwiw.

Heres a couple pics i found on the interweb. Although ive seen MUCH more impressive shots of this strain. And heard its great.

What is RHS,LOK all these dam acronyms.

I think RHS stands for Red Headed Stranger. An Award winning sativa breed by the previously mention Tierra Rojo.

And if I remember correctly, LOK stands for Lights Out Kush, and was breed by 40 Amps.

Its a chem x Og i think. Looks AMAZING. I think Third said his keeper was the OG dom pheno.

one thing I know is she will be still going strong when I am dead and gone, one of you youngsters do me a favor and put my ashes in a pot with a gg4, make me usefull . lol

I dont think ashes would help plants much, but id be glad to bury you in the ground kinda shallow, and plant a field of Gorrila Glue's above, and let them grow down and use your decayed body as nutrients. Then ill smoke the buds, and itll be like i smoke you. Kinda like in that How High movie with Method man and REdman. :tiphat:

I'm still wondering why you fellaz use anything but water in your cloners anyway. Maybe I'm missing something but I get roots in 10 days with just rr plugs and and clonex gel

Thats exactly how i felt. I always got 100% success, and quickly too. But then i heard OC mention KLN thickening up his roots. And normally i probably wouldn't have even noticed that post, but he used the words "fishbones", and i immediately knew what he was talking about. Plus, the stuff is pretty cheap for a small bottle, and ya dont need much.

Without KLN.

With KLN

And the top pic was in optimal conditions and the cutting was healthy. notice the green stem. The bottom pic was a beat up cutting, and i had humidity problems while cloning.

So just like bug and dans and OC said, its worth it for use in aero cloners for sure.

pappy I made some iso also it was good, but rather made canna butter & made edibles.

I like ISO for a few reasons. One its simple and safe to make. Also I really like the fact that i can clean my jars out with it and harness that kief that sticks to the inside of the jars.

Plus Iso can be made into many different grades. So if it wasnt that great this time, it can always improve. The less time you run it, the better the product.
I made a couple different batches yesterday. One big batch of my usual brown oil. The stuff you guys have seen pics of. And i also made a small batch of some crystalline THC (well, as close as i can get with 91% Isopropyl, a paint scraper, and a pyrex dish).
I used some nice buds that i dried out completely and stuck in the freezer 4 hours prior to extraction. Same with the alcohol. Then i only let it go for 60 seconds. 90 seconds is my normal, but more chlorophyll is dissolved the longer it goes.
I did do a second quick run on the material and added it to my big batch.
Anyways heres a few pics.

I know it doesnt look like oil. But it tastes much better and is stronger. It gets me pretty lit, pretty quick.

And its clean as hell. It leaves no reside like bad oil. This bubbles and completely disappears. In addition to not washing the material for too long, the trick is getting the material out of the alcohol quickly by using a regular kitchen metal mesh strainer, than being patient and not forcing the solution through the coffee filter. I also use a metal 90 micron screen before the coffee filter, but its prolly not necessary.

Ok I understand why you fellas use the stuff now. If mine looked like that I would be looking for a fix to lol j/k I get lots of thick roots in the rr plugs. I've tried other methods with lesser results so I will stick with what's tried and trued until something fails. I tried the unc-o-cloner and got a big fat goose egg after almost 30 days I went back to the gel and plugs. Had roots 5 days later :dunno:

I bet they are.:smoke:
the last pics you put up of her were pretty stunning.

and Unc, i was just checkin out some of your albums, and your cookies sure are beautiful. I know the yield is poopy, but if she taste as good as she looks (and ive heard she does) id keep it(re-get it) for an occasional personal treat if it was me. It doesnt make too much sense growing it for other people, considering the yield. But i can tell from your glass collection, you enjoy the sacrement as much as the rest of us!

And all this seed popping has me curious. How common are trifoliate's??

In the last 3 years of my constantly popping seeds, ive gotten 2. One was a Great White Shark female. And one was a Granddaddy Purple male.
The GWS did outyield all of her sisters due to the 3 buds and 3 branches per node, as opposed to 2. Im not sure if it was 50% more, but it was definitely a positive trait/mutation.

never had a tri grow into anything worthwhile myself...
the cookies make a bad large plant pappy,im going to have a med card soon enough and will only be allowed 4 plants in flower so i would rather let someone else run it and just buy it from them,i basically had the cookie and glue market to myself for the last year here or when ever i got them...i'll just stick to the glue, its better weed anyway...plus i have hundreds of seeds...wanna find out whats in there...

There common. I get them from time to time. Getting an extra bud never hurt. I culled my cut of GSC a few months back.

O yeah. Forgot about the plant count. That makes a lot of sense. I wouldnt keep it either. I like my weed plants to have weed on them

There's a strain called Grubbycup's Stash that supposedly throws trifoliate phenos a lot. It would be a good trait to stabilize if it showed in a worthwhile strain. Or if it was breed into a worthwhile strain.

I actually had a 5-foliate once that was pretty crazy. Although it "corrected" itself as it matured. :shucks:
