bitchin set up! elaborate l on the"diy" mini split.... did that mean it's one of those that can be installed with out the need for an hvac guy?

otis - thanks for the kind words. the mini split ac is a diy install... plug & play. in the future i would probably prefer a better brand/unit.

watts - thanks! i only give them 10ml per gallon which puts me about 900-1000 ppm on my cheap ppm meter and tap (50ppm) water. i know there are so many additives and boosters, but i wanted to see what their new base formula for coco can do. i have been checking the ph and it is always at 5.9.

very nice, I'm considering going sealed soon, great to see someone doing it in a tent. looking to see how it turns out

mg75, glad too hear you've turned to the coco side, im jealous of that mini-split. how many times a day you feeding them girls , they look good.

drsmoke69- due to hand-watering, i feed once a day (usually as the light goes on). I do want to try drip-irrigation or blumats although comparability with advanced nutrients is questionable. this is a no-run-off grow for now. i do think i can feed more which i might up to 15ml per gallon.
all of my clones/mother are getting the same feed and are looking great.

MG75nice set up gonna tag along and see how the new sensi line treats you lookin real good so far ive had good luck with AN micro bloom in coco DTW and am sure youll like the ease of no ph adjustments or worry of ppm s :tiphat: Buddler..

so the advanced nutes don't need any Ph adjustments. that would be awesome, Ph variations in my nute rez stresses me out to the point of getting grey hairs. iv been brewing my nutes in a rez with an air stone. every time i feed the Ph is different in the rez and im always adjusting up or down. its never consistent, even though i use the same RO water and nutes every time. i hand water 2x daily and my only enemy is Ph.

Might want to drop the ppm of that CO2 down a bit... turns out that 1500ppm is not optimal.

No runoff with coco?? You know of a few growers using this setup with success? Just curious.

Nice looking setup... I'd love to go sealed myself.

Keep it Clean! :D

thecleangame- my cheap PPM monitor/controller (CAP PPM4) is set to pump CO2 to 1500ppm. I cannot set anything else. I do start enrichment 1 hour after lights go on and stop it 1 hour before they go off (10 hours of 1500ppm co2 bottled injection). i did notice that i am using very little CO2 and i feel 1 bottle will last the whole show or more.

the reason i don't have run-off is due to the fact that i am in a tent, hand-watering and such. i am thinking on placing all of the plants on a table for the next run.

how do others deal with run-off/flushing their plants while in a tent? where do you setup a drain?

if you are going to run a no run off program, in the future, I suggest you use drip clean@1ml/gal.. you can't really just start using it in the middle of a grow, but should be used from start to flush. a lot of the coco growers here use this to prevent nute lock out from salt accumulation. drsmoke, if you are using both ph up and ph down in the same res, this may be why your ph isn't stable; you really should only use one or the other. add a little bit o of up or down until you are where you want to be. some use a silica product in place of ph up when they have used to much ph down

thanks otis33 for the info, what i do is mix ro water and my nutes into a 5 gal bucket and call that my rez. at this point i don't add any up or down to the rez. when it comes time to feed i adjust my ph. so what i was saying earlier is the 5 gal rez changes ph on its own the longer the mix is in the rez. example, right after everything is mixed with ro water my ph is almost perfect 6.5, at this time i add a little ph down to get it to 6.0. but the longer the mix stays in the rez the more the ph changes and by the time im pulling the last gal for feed out of the rez the ph is more like 5.0 so i have to add the ph up. i only ever use one or the other never both. just wondering how to keep the rez ph stable, or if that's possible.

mg75 great start
liking they mini split in tent. I may try this as well . what did it run ya ?
looks like it is just mounted to a board ? must not weigh too much.
i have never done a sealed room but very interested in maybe setting up.
Does the room ever get exhausted ?
the drain hose is for the dehumidifier ?
def will be watching the show

yesca- thank you!
i did mount the indoor unit to a 4x2 board. the tent poles are bowing a bit, but i think it will hold up. the indoor unit weighs only around 25 pounds. a better tent in the future will be beneficial. this tent was super-cheap off ebay.
the room never gets exhausted except on the times i visit the garden (daily for at least 1.5 hours). i then turn-off the co2 bottle and have the tent zip-out door wide open.
the drain hose is for the mini-split ac. there is a small dehumidifier inside the tent draining to another 5 gallon bucket. i do believe i need something stronger as the tent goes up in humidity when the lights are off.

Handling runoff is usually pretty simple.

Get some pond liner a bit longer each way than your floor and throw a few turns of it around a couple 2x4's (if you have a tent) and stretch that across the bottom. Toss a couple 2x4's or 2x2's on the other ends to make sure it has a lip all the way around.

Water with 10% run off and then either suck off the excess water with a tank vac or, if you have very low humidity like I usually do, let it evap off back into the grow. Or a combination of both. :D

Keep it Clean! :D
