Bong Ash Catcher/Problem Solution? One idea.

Hello,

For more than 13 years I've used cannabis for a medical reason. It helps relieve back pain and stress from a botched hernia surgery I had that left me with these side effects.

Anyhow, here is my Bong Ash catcher problem. As someone who just recently got his first bong with an ash catcher I notice that it also catches a small load of smoke that becomes stale.

How do most folks get clear this?

Sure, I can suck that in carefully, without "opening the carb", and then blow on the stem after opening the carb to (unload) it through the mouthpiece... but this seems like a lot of work to me.

Love the new bong. Love the little bubbles... but, this to me needs fixing.

So, my idea, is to make a carb on the ash catcher. But, usually you want one hand to hold the bong, and one for the lighter... so, why not make this carb with a small circle of metal/wire inside, and have some magnet/rubber thingy that just holds itself there, then, you could take this away, and get all that smoke... before it turns stale?

As a really "old" time stoner, but not an exert by any means; am I missing something?

Thanks,
Peace,

Lock it away from children,
and medicate responsibly!

Check out carbon filters for water pipes via google... IMO it completely replaces the need for an ash catcher

If I understand, (pix might help!), it sounds like it might be a design flaw with that particular type of ash catcher…

Sounds like a carb would def. solve your issues though!
Of course, you could also try loading small bowls, “one hitters”…that way every hit is a fresh one!
But I’m biased, being a 'one hit' packer myself.

Good luck!! :)
