ever seen roots growing above ground? the light root prunes them...you will get a quicker, fuller root mass from letting them go out to the edges...

Gotta say I have not seen proof of this in my gardens. I've done the 16 or 18 ounce solo's clear and double cupped red solos.

No difference really. I now use clear cups, algae and all. Works for me might not be best but I like to see root growth.

I'm sure this is not the preferred way to grow plants but if you make them hearty and veg for 60 days or so you can have some really nice plants.

I've grown in these 7 ounce cups until the stem was bigger than a pencil. Clear ones at that. Just gotta water...

I do agree though, darker is better where roots are concered.:)

Hey purpur. Do you also eat raw onion? Or other alliums. I was amazed how much evenly it cooks when powdered. Not trying to give a tip or any thing. Your buds are much nicer looking than I have grown. If any thing I am lurking and shredding a slice of info yo nibble on here and there. Jw c w

Yeah i'm kinda on the fence with this myself . i like seeing the root growth & they do fill the cups all the way out to the sides with little problems . but my seedlings do seem kinda slow .... not sure if its Unc's reasoning or the slight drop in temps now . :dunno:

morning folks :coffee:

I guess a good project for today would be to get those two glues into some one gallon pots and let the growth begin. 99% sure they are mite and egg free at this point.

Morning guys.

i ended up losing a few leaves here and there on the clones and seedlings getting them out from under the dome yesterday...probably a good thing i didnt go camping as one of the flowering plants was a bit on the dry side as far as the moisture meter could tell....well,thats why i have someone to plant sit i guess...

gonna up pot a glue into a 45 gallon pot just to see if it can root itself out into a big pot like that, only have like 3 weeks until i need it to go into flower so it may not be enough time to really root in...but since 3 bags of medium is worth like a 1/2 oz im willing to give it a shot....

I think at their rate of growth , they'll be ready for 5" pots in about 2 weeks . that would be a month in the cups ..... yeah that seems slow . but i think temps are whats slowing them down more than anything ..... but i've been wrong before . i'm gonna dig out some of my beer cups & put one tray of seedlings in the second cup to darken the roots .... gotta see if theres a big difference .

I think that LED panel makes a helluva difference in growth too . have thought about a couple small ones , but just can't justify the price yet . i think they'd do ALOT better than them cheap T5 tubes i have in there now .

that led panel has been well worth the price in my book, been using it for like 5 years now with never a problem...
