Plummeting Marijuana Prices for Growers

Tits and ass are different. Not as much money but still a huge hurdle for the Bible belt. Casino money is big though. Pot's different but there is the medical side. My 80 year old great aunt was allowed to smoke marijuana when she had pancreatic cancer in 95 in the capital of Ms in the same hospital I was born. I gave a 1/2 oz to a friend of my brothers going through chemo that was past from my 70 plus year old Dad to his 70 plus year old parents with the instructions to flush it or give it to their son. It went to their son. The times are changing. After prohibition Ms was still a dry state but collected a black market tax on liquor through their future governor William Winter. William Winter would even rebate tax on seized liquor that had already been paid. There are pragmatists here mixed in with reactionaries. The problem with the reactionaries is their kids get arrested for smoking pot to not to mention some of their kids are gay (heaven forbid). Things have to change. It won't be as quick as more progressive areas of the country but it will happen in my life time which is something I never would have said 5 years ago. When the change comes you can rest assured I'LLGROWMYOWN.

You've been here since 2009 and you don't grow your own? We'll see I'll still need to see it to believe it.

I've grown enough of my own to stop. It's not legal here yet and I've come to the conclusion that the risks outweigh the rewards. Come home from work 1 day and see fire trucks and police cars all down your street from a lightning strike on a house 4 doors down and you come to some quick realizations of what is in your control and what is not. I read my old posts and it's comical. Battling the great outdoors with armadillos, termites, mold, carrying water and forest fires led me inside to a small set up. The small set up worked great to produce all I needed and was stealthy but again you reassess just how much it makes sense to grow to supply a $1000 a year habit. Growing your own in the Bible belt is a 365 day a year felony if you keep it perpetual whether you sell it or not. I started reading this thread with people going back and forth over what growers/dealers charge and it is worth it to me to buy and not produce. I'm done, have enough to last a couple years and will buy until sanity prevails, laws change and I can grow again. I will say I miss it greatly but there are too many variables out of my control to keep assuming the risk. As well concealed as my little grow was it would have easily been found by the fire department and the police were so bored they had 5 cars with some in front of my house. You hear about cops having flir but the damn fire dept carries a hand held unit to spot fires/hot spots. They shut off your electricity, gas and go through every space in your house looking for where the lightning can arc and start a fire. They found 5 smoldering spots in several spots where it ran down the electrical line followed by a blown out gas line. Note to anyone growing make sure your gas line is grounded. If I hadn't shut down and cleared out my house I wouldn't have posted nearly what I have in this thread concerning where I'm from. I never have been comfortable enough to take pictures and post them nor have I felt the need to prove what I have and haven't grown. I do try to contribute to the site passing information on and now have to get my grow hobby fix through what everyone here does. For now I'm done and anxiously awaiting the positives that legal marijuana is going to bring Colorado over the next year/years. I truly think the impact to the states of Washington and Colorado will be so big the domino's will start to fall and state after state will legalize. While on the subject of state tax revenues and domino effects here's another Mississippi history lesson. Ms was the first state in the union to come up with a state sales tax(not real proud of that one). Within 2 weeks California sent a delegation and set up theirs. I don't know how quickly it spread but every state in the union now has some form of sales tax. The Colorado model of legalization/controlled distribution is going to be getting a lot of attention. I may be wrong but the tide has turned, 58% of the public is for legalization and when it does change you will be able to see it to believe it. Until then I'm taking my front row seat to watch the situation unfold, smoke what I have left and not bitch one bit at the price I pay for marijuana I'm not willing to risk growing for myself until the laws change.

Im from a tristate area, and a densely populated area at that with NO legal means of getting cannabis near me

Lbs go for 2800-3400 of high grade from cali dispenseries

There are states that will never ever legalize in our lifetime like say Texas and other Bible Belt states...lived/worked in a few I wouldn't hold breath

I'll still need to see it to believe it.

In Dallas there are stores advertising "Medical Marijuana Alternative" on the outside of their shops in big letters so you can see it from the highway.

When you have stores openly advertising stuff like that in Dallas it's a sign of things to come in the near future. People outside of Texas have no idea what's going on down here.

There is a limit on how much beer you can legally brew without a license.

So, what will it take to get a cannabis production license, is the question imo...

I have "heard" of counties in certain states limit how much beer you can posses. Oklahoma comes to mind. Buddy had to pour out cans on the roadside to be within limits per individual. I think there were 3 people in the car and only allowed to posses a few per person by law. They were not open, still in the case box. And I want herb to be like tomatoes, don't get me wrong, roadside stands and the honor system, tax free. The 75% majority is called a "super majority" also...google it.

In-state SF Bay area prices 10/13

All of course seedless, with no bug or mold damage...

Outdoor = $700 - $1000
Outdoor name strains (Jack, Afgoey, Green Crack) = $1000 - $1200
Outdoor purps = $1400 - $1600
Outdoor top name strains (GSC, OG, SD) = $1400 - $1800

Indoor no name = $1800 - $2000
Indoor name strains (Jack, Blue Dream, Green Crack) = $2000 - $2200
Indoor purps (75% purple with grape smell) - $2200 - $2400
Indoor top name strains (GSC, OG, SD) = $2400 - $3000
Indoor top name strains "A+ grade" (GSC, OG, Chem Fire) = $2800 - $3200

Basically $1000 for regular outdoor. $2,000 for plain old indoor.

Damn that is cheap. One more argument for the Bible belt states going legal is all the fake pot being sold. I've never tried it and never will but a lot of people down here are smoking it. The state/states will make it illegal, manufacturer's alter the fake pot's chemical structure and it goes round and round.

"$3,000 a pound is cheap? Seems pretty standard to me."
I was looking at the $700-$1000 outdoor not the high end indoor. The pot market in the Bible belt doesn't get the top grade indoor consistently. As long as it is seedless Ca pot it is going to command $350-$400 an oz. Down here everything is either $80-100 Mexican brick or $350-$400. There is no middle ground. I'm out of the loop on lb costs but bricked Mexican crap can't be far from $700. It makes me wonder how the Mexican weed market is. The best thing they have going for them is a 50 plus year old distribution system and the fact that even if a $1000 lb of Ca pot makes it's way in high market states it gets marked up to market price. Some people just won't/can't pay $400. I'd like to see what the dispensary price is on a $1000 lb of outdoor.

i hear ya but strip clubs and casinos are a little different don't you think?

Not really. Strip clubs, casinos, and drug use are liberty / freedom issues that many brain washed sheeple believe they have a vote on. You know for the Keeeeds. Can't have keeeeds seeing or knowing about these immoral activities engaged in by degenerates like me ;)

For the most, that's true. However, top grade CA indoor is all I smoke in Texas. I'm one of the lucky few who has a steady supply of indoor OG, GSC, etc. I get oz's of OG and GSC for $375 in Texas.

That's only because my connections are hooked up with people like Wiz Khalifa who is friends with Burner, though.

That's not true at all. I can get mid-grade indoor from $175-$300 an oz. There are a lot of people trying to sell the lower quality stuff for $350-$400, but I'm fortunate enough to have enough hook ups to where I'm not obligated to pay that inflated price.

I'm pretty much paying Cali prices in Texas.

I don't buy that stuff, but I know guys that pay $400/lb.

$375 Cali prices? Maybe back in the 90's.

I'm an aging pot smoker. I used to have a lot more options but they tend to decrease over time. I'm basically out of the loop and you sound like your are completely in the loop so there are differences in our situations. $400 for brick in Tx doesn't surprise me since you're on the border. Move that out of tx and the price starts going up quickly. Tx may not be legal but being that close to the border has its advantages.

I see multiple dispensaries selling it for that much on their websites.

LOL
Sad thing is they actually do get that much in clubs, but the weed sucks.
You never see the real OG in the clubs, its always some stupid fucking cross. Dont even bother with their sativas
All my bros are trying to dump OZs of the bomb for $200, but have to take a little less to move weight.
There is just so much weed going around its ridiculous!
Did you read any of this thread before you posted?

Tell whiz hes a fucking joke!

Plummeting Marijuana Prices for Growers
Is the name of the thread.
LOL
Those same shops selling OZ's for $400 are only giving the growers $150 an OZ

Well, that settles it. All growers should open up shops so they can get Cali prices... Just like Whiz.
Try selling large rooms full of weed sometime, eh?

I do, just not in a legal market, or one as competitive as Cali. If I did grow out there $3,000/lb is all I would hope to get. That seems to be the standard price out there for top quality indoor.

lulz :tiphat:
Stop arguing about the what ifs an leave the thread if ya got nothing to offer up on topic.

look at me.....I get my weed from a rapper......coooool.:blowbubbles:
