heres what i got and i was woundering if it would be a good idea to add this to my presoak water for my rockwool. I have a white widow seed that im germinating using the paper towel method. Im about to place it in a rockwool cube.

The directions say add 1/4ml per/L for normal usage and twice that for aggressive usage. So i was think of just adding a 1/8ml per/L for my presoak. But what i was really wanting to know is will it kill or fuck up my only white widow seed?

I've been using it in my hydrating water for my seed-starting Jiffy pucks for a few years.
Works great.

There is no need for nutrient until you seed has sprouted and green. Then feed. The seed has everything it needs to germinate and sprout leaves. It can do more harm than good to have nutrients, any nutrients while cloning or starting seeds. Now remember as soon as its sprouted and green you can feed. Same with clones only add nutrients after you see roots.

forgetmeplease does have a point, overfeeding and watering can be major causes of troubles. I wait till 2nd set of true leaves start, each has their own way that works - some go several nodes before feeding.

1-2 ml/gallon comes out to about 50 ppm (that's for a decent concentrate, depending on how concentrated it is and the elements in it). Some people are happy with their RO water at that (though mine's 13 ppm). I don't think it'll hurt any, that's my week 2 from seed concentration for RDWC.

Yeah you want to increase your chances of success - I use Rapid Rooters, they have their own nutes plus some beneficials. They blow away rockwool in speed and root mass development. They even beat someone's aero-EZ clone setup. Though some of those EZ cloners turned out to be more of slow cookers at 1st.

I did a side by side comparison with rapid rooter and rockwool. ( to be fair I used the best of both results ) The rockwool produced faster roots, More root mass, Bigger roots and grew faster after root growth started, and as seen in pics rapid rooters grew nice roots but not as much lateral growth and not as fat. As far as adding nutes before roots, the answer is NO.. why would the roots reach out if they already have food? They form and start to reach and grow for nutrients. Once they show roots forming then you can add a SMALL amount of nutes. I have a recipe that gets me roots in little less than 4 days to 6 days. Through the cube.

Here is what I put in my ez clone before I add nutes

Here is what I put in my ez clone before I add nutes

The first picture is a kelp extract that I found outside the USA
The other is my ratios for other adds before nutes
My nutes are easy
General Hydro 3 part

At the start of the root formation I add

Rapid Start 10 tsp per/50g or the aggressive feed
12.5 tsp per/50g Micro
6.25 tsp per/50g bloom
12.5 tsp per 50/g grow

I add all of these to start off with.

Kelp extract at 6 and 1/4 tsp per/50g
Raw Phosphorus at 9 and 1/4 tsp per/50g
Ful-Power at a 5:2 ratio to the Kelp extract ( 2 and 1/2 times kelp )
Superthrive 1/4 tsp/g
Protekt 1/4 tsp/g
FYI
You can also foliar spray with the kelp/fulvic Superthrive protekt blend as long as you have not sprayed your moms in the past week.

When roots start to form I add the GH dosage depending on water level in cloner. I have 3, 120 site and 1, 60 site Ez clones, then I have a 180 site Botanicare I use this in all my cloners.. The ppm without the Rapid Start is about 345ppm

You can also soak your rockwool or others in Photosynthesis plus ( Plus-C for outside California and Washington )for Mycorrhizae

Now as far as mother plant feed goes ( Healthy moms are the most important thing to fast rooting clones no matter what nutes or adds you use )

80 tsp/50g Micro
90 tsp/50g Grow
25 tsp/50g bloom
12.5 tsp/50g Protekt
12.5 tsp/50g Superthrive
12.5 tsp/50g Kelp extract
5:2 ratio of Ful-Power to Kelp
100ml per/50g Cal-mag

Foliar Feed Weekly

15ml per/g Neem oil
1/4 tsp/g Protekt
1/4 tsp/g Superthrive
1/4 tsp/g Kelp extract
5:2 ratio of Ful-Power to Kelp

I can cut 500 + cuts off 18 plants every week WITHOUT cutting the main tops at all.
This feed give me very good lateral branching, a lot of stored energy in the mid to lower part of the plant ( which is where I recomend you take cuts from ) as this is the area that has the most stored energy. The tops are pulling energy from the plant to grow basically. The lower parts have stored energy. So one is sucking energy one is storing or supplying energy. Which one you think will root fast? One sucking or one giving. ( wow that sounded better in my head )

I use this feed as I only like to give my moms an adequate amount of nitrates, not luxury. Reason is that most of the plants energy is used assimilating the nitrates. I want more energy into producing growth and not assimilation.
