Howdy

Howdy

It is true. My disgust for people overwhelms me sometimes. Nothing to do with this site or the cyber world though. The people in real life are bad enough.

One of my down home bros...old skool best friend...was shot to death last month...over meaningless pride and methamphetamine induced reality. Ambushed and murdered....fury and wrath..make holes in a man. So...

this last month has been about me intermingling with fucked up addicts...waiting in tweeker pads for certain junkies to show up...just to get shit straight...because I had to know how and the exact spot my dear friend gave up his life. Then...the arranging of the dead and gone logistics...remains and memorial....some sickening phone calls..and some sickening people to deal with.

Most people are out of their minds (wrong...they are caught up in their minds)...toxic and insane. You can not help them. I am at a point in my objectivity...where I am no longer able to mourn.

* Through all this...the gardens flourish..everything..is progressing. It's been a really strange time...draining...and lacking lucidity..but I'm getting Hell Mox down onto a track...recording the expressions by pollinating the best takes. The studio is screaming with raw power....my favorite stuff lined up...doing it.

** Trail wise: the other day I went to a neighbor's house and got on a doctor's scale. I'm down to 140 pounds. I haven't been 140 pounds since high school. At this weight I am able to power run recklessly for hours...my conditioning keeps getting better...my recovery is outstanding...my will has never been stronger. I'm running out of my mind...within myself. It's now like flipping a switch...once the motor fires...I'm gone.

Life is short. Get on it.

Some Nuggets

Some Nuggets

In the process of trimming a 64 day squat Hell Hound IX1 (not being used in the Hell Mox project).......funky reeker..and hefty as well

Here's a picture of that same Hell Hound bud next to a dry Queen Mox bud

And the Queen Mox bud by itself (harvested a while back on day 70some)

* Flowers like these are...realistically...about all you'll be seeing out of my studios for the next bunch of months. All the Mox Mox IX1 and all the Hell Hound IX1 are real smelly plants. A room of these expressions....best have a filter that can tame the wafts.

As the pollens travel (did my 3rd pollination this morning)...as the Hell Mox seed is made...well...can't complete my thought there..

but anyways I'm seeing all kinds of good things...as well as...some off the wall expressions that really have no place in a production world...even though...even they...are being flowered out (but not bred) to their conclusions.

** This Hell Mox build is not for the intersex fearing meek. These plants require a tight room and a proactive...tight...operator. You can not 1/2 ass in giving full attention to each and every plant...each and every gardening session. There are certain times and certain places where nanners/balls can be found. Thus far...I think most of them are sterile...but it is still wise to be watchful and keep tweezers in hand. For me...it's jut routine and not a bother or a worry.

*** with the exception of the Red Krox plant...the flower studio is all Mox(s) and Hound(s)

**** did well with the Killer Chem stuff...should put up a solid run...down the road

I 2nd that - both parts :D

Too bad about your friend. Some people we lose because they don't want to be found.

Nice bud regardless of the not-a-keeper status. Are you not keeping it because it doesn't express the sativa traits youre so fond of? Understandable.

140! I might have to go even further back than HS since I weighed that. Sounds like youre peaking on the conditioning - maybe longer pre-run vape sessions are in order. Soon your feet wont even feel the ground. Youll be flying more than running.

I'm 6'1" and weigh close to 200. In 1986 I reached my all-time low at 165. I could do 13 pull-ups on a sheet tied-off as a droopy bar from a second-story balcony. At 24 I could do most Yoga asanas including Nidrasana, "Yogic Sleep" where both legs are behind one's head. Now I am still a power hiker and backpacker and the call to shed weight and be able to stretch better is calling. Your leg photo was trippy, P3, and it reveals your enjoyment. I think, with uphill battle.

Uphill Battles

Uphill Battles

...and Downhill Battles. It doesn't much matter to me...as not one is less taxing than the other. Even symbolically speaking.

It's just life...the way it is. once a body can accept the big randomness..i mean...really accept it...the rest is just a struggle not to get caught up in the pretending...that we are believers in knowing what's going on...what's going to happen..in all this stuff we do...just to get along amongst each other...pretending and lying away...even if just to..cause less waves.

It's better to be silent. Silence is fucking golden. There...I fall short of the glory. That's probably...the biggest reason why I train so much. I can find portals into silence. I can get out of this noise.

yeah...I was at first shocked to find myself at 140 pounds. I tell you though: when I hit the trails...I feel powerful. I'm spending more time off trail...gulping raw terrain..landing back down onto well maintained trail...playing games with with boulders...so as not to..touch the earth. To be light in gravity...to keep the body landing in a coil....to use momentum to recoil off the terrain...extending only in the upward motion....it's so crazy what can be done if you can get out of the mind. But...it's not crazy...crazy being a crazy word

Flexibility...yup. Getting leaned down is all about flexibility and weight/power ratio balanced out. Understanding when you are beginning to sacrifice one too much...for the other. Push ups, pull ups, dips....all done in rotating motions..promoting flexibility...less the muscle memory of the traditional ways of doing..the exercises. Rotation is key..the body moves best when rotating. Hips..shoulders...neck..back...fuck...everything must rotate to gravitate

Recovery and endurance...to me..are almost the same thing. The better you recover...the better you endure. Simple as that. I punish myself for the sake of recovery. Recovery drills are painful.

I'm designing myself. Work in progress...as my visions change..as I get clued in to certain things..as my sports change...things get altered. Diets...body..gardens..it's all the same to me...I'm all caught up in organic locomotion

Why some things?

^ That's a squat expression Hell Hound IX1 I have vegging along. About 1/2 the size of her sisters. For some reason...I routinely find these squat expressions...no matter which seeds I use..from whichever Hell Hound mother. I've documented a few...for sure..so you know I still grow them but...

in this case...it's because I have the room to. As I'm flowering in a vert arrangement...I no longer have much need for squat expressions. The one I just harvested had to have her pot placed n top of a milk crate..to give her the best light footprint. That...and the fact that they take a long time to veg...just to get a 3' finished plant...are the reasons why I won't use them for breeding.

The quality/head/flavor and yields on these are actually really good (that flower I showed yesterday...smells like a sweet fruity bubblegum).......which is why I do tend to flower them. They would be perfect expressions for someone wanting short plants. They are also the most stable/simple to cultivate expressions found in HH...ie..no issues with intersex or nutrients..or much need for training

Check out some moms

^ On the left is a Mox Mox IX1 and on the right is a Hell Hound IX1...both on day 38...both have been partially pollinated. These were the 1st girls pollinated for Hell Mox.

* You can see the HH is one of those vicious "vine" expressions. I find these all the time...and they are some of my favorites. I'll pollinate a few of the vines. There will be others...I promise...I know this cross.

* The MM girl (remember...I used beans coming from the Queen Mox clone only) is not like her mother...she is something else...different aroma....absolutely stinky..absolutely drawing my attention. Don't want to predict...but real nice so far.

*EDIT: Lou Reed died...damn

A Sack of Mexi????????????????????????

A Sack of Mexi????????????????????????

Picked twice...firstly on October 7th...then again on the 15th after a week of cold mountain nights...and several freeze overs

^ Scrub Buds. She was flushed with copious amounts of Clearex...never lost her deep green coloring...never colored up during cold nights...allowed herself to be coated in frost and still stay alive (when she started showing some burn...I finished her off)...so hardy she always was...

flowers were very fat...very light...thusly...I spent little time trimming them deluxe...as deluxe is but a waste of time on air flowers imo...the best thing then..to do...is just run scissors up and down the flowers....shearing them like a sheep...then compress them gently closed

surely you will not find me wrestling with scissors...trying to remove every little evil..on these type of buds. I'm a runner for fuck's sake....much better things to do

* You know? The bottom of Scrub is still alive...right now with bottom flowers somewhat torched by frost...and presently engulfed by a fall rain storm. Tough plant

New Shoe Day

New Shoe Day

Happens...roughly...every other month. Every other month being a push...as usually...the shoes are near wasted before then. I'll cave in to order a new pair..after the balls of my feet are consistently aching from bruising bones

I've returned to running in Altra Superiors (this is my 3rd pair) after a summer spent running in Altra Lone Peak 1.5's and Merrell Ascends. With a tube of urethane I'm able to make the very basic modification...that then...makes the Superiors my favorite shoe model to run in. Straight out of the box...the modifications are made

Old and New

^ Side by side...you can see the beat down the hours and miles....the terrain and me...put on the shoes. Although the urethane adds the needed strength (these shoes are notorious for ripping out) and extra protection (I prefer) along the mesh...nothing saves the bottoms.

Once traction has become totally compromised...I change up my style a bit....becoming less a sticking rail runner...to allotting space for slide. Less traction certainly slows...but slipping/sliding has its own virtues...even if it becomes more a reckless style. It's fun for a while...but a few slips off boulders or steep banks...can cream a runner good. And...I'll say...losing traction on steep uphills is never good for your face or momentum.

A look at my very simple modification...which makes these shoes much much better

^ You can see how the urethane looks fresh on a new shoe...and how it will look after some trail time. This little layer of urethane extends the life of the shoes, adds even more stability for making rail cuts, and adds a layer of protection against rocks.

* One of the things I really like about the Altra Superiors is that they have sharp rails (edges on the soles). I can plow down hills...cutting in and out...as if I were...boarding. They cut into the terrain better than any shoe I've worn to this point. Fairly light...wide toe box...zero drop (no difference between the height of back to the height of the front)...minimal padding....a hybrid minimalist shoe. This company has their shit going in the right direction.

been a tough week...my right knee was hurting over the last few days, barely got in an hour a day of riding but the knee is healed up so im glad for the time off...the bike always needs cleaning and wrenching and i got the front garden mostly weeded so not a waste of time by any means....ready for the next level of training...hope to knock out the next 1000 miles in 8 weeks...up to 1200 so just 800 more miles in the next 7 weeks...should be "easy"...

I've become obsessed with uphill wind sprints on pavement. That's my new thing. I do them after the trail...kind of my blow out thing. Wind sprints waste me.

It's impressive all the riding you are doing unc. A body must be doing something...or else...it gets lazy. Good on you bro

lol,im just learning how to go slow finally and not kill myself! yup,i have some learning to do about calorie management and staying hydrated on the bike, but my fitness level has jumped dramatically...im able to pedal for good long stretches now out into the 3-4 hour range...by the end of this 6 week training cycle i should be fit enough to take on a 4 hour ride once a week without it laying me up for 3 days, another 6 weeks after that i hope to be up to two 4 hour rides a week or one 8 hour day in the saddle,i should be pushing my first 100 mile day out...you of all people here i dont need to explain how good it feels to dig deep and have to push past a previous barrier...to have that mindset switch from "im not sure i can ride that far" to "i can do this but i know its going to suck hard for a while, but im going to do it"....

you know, its cool to see how you go from that took everything i had to 4 weeks ago this same ride almost killed me,that was fun this time!

Flo leaning Mox Mox

Flo leaning Mox Mox

Rediscovering Terry Kath guitar work on the CTA early albums. Bullet to the head ended that era...still..his sound was ripping..as were..his vocals.

I have this Flo leaning Moxie flowering out un-pollinated. Day 40ish

^ Super pooper low yield on this girl...and not much aroma. Looks like she will finish fast...around 60 days I'd say. A green Flo expression...no bluing on her

don't much mess with expressions like this...but it's fascinating to see the things that pop up...the things that are. I remember way back when: out of a pack of DP's Original Flo...I had the purple stemmed Flo (that I bred all my Flo work with) and a green stemmed Flo (which I did nothing with)..........as the memory washes over me...I see that green girl..all over again. Somehow..someway...beneath double doses of Chem DD....in directions I never went...a green Flo shows in 2nd generation Mox Mox. Some say percentages...some may cave in to randomness

It doesn't really matter I suppose...falling down fucking this day over

Cool shoes. I like comfortable shoes.
I`m not much of a sports guy.
But I have been getting into tennis lately.
Playing with a friend once or twice a week.
I`m liking the game. We always smoke a joint after it too :p
I bought a racquet today. Its second hand, nothing fancy, but feels nice. :woohoo:

The Scrub Saga

The Scrub Saga

In post 3352...I showed you the dry and bagged flowers off the Scrub plant...and I mentioned that I'd left some bottom flowers on her frame..which were still alive

^ That's her there. This morning it is under 30 degrees..she has had several nights down in those temps. Been frosted over so many times that I've lost count. Some of those flowers are torched...but still there are some..that would be almost worth harvesting...if I really needed something to vaporize.

Since I do not...I'm just allowing nature to take its course. Letting her suffer and burn.

* Every time I get a new pair of trail shoes...I'm amazed at the difference in my performance. Having fresh tread and fresh foam...I'd compare to a Nascar racer getting fresh rubber and a suspension adjustment in the pits. Grip is king

Last 2 Male

Last 2 Male

For the making of the Hell Mox cross I am using a total of 6 males. 3 Hell Hound IX1 and 3 Mox Mox IX1. The pollens I am currently working with came from 4 plants. Those plants were documented earlier on..in the thread...and they are now long gone...feeding my worms.

Last weekend I put the remaining 2 males (1 HH and 1 MM) into flower.

^ this is them. Later in the week they'll be pulled out...and exiled off..so that they can safely make the dust. Once I collect the pollens...it will be mixed in with the pollens from the 4 other males.

So....The pollinations that will be happening down the road...will have pollens from 6 males...whilst the females I have pollinated already...and a couple that I'll be pollinating later this week...will have pollens from just 4 males.

* I've made it clear many times in this thread...but it's worth repeating. I am a hobby bean maker. Nothing I make is designed for anyone but me. I have absolutely no interest in being more than that...never want to be a seed salesman. My goals are always about being self sufficient in my bean supply....and to grow nothing but the expressions/lines that work best for me. To personally tailor my own lines....to be original and unique to me..as a cultivator.

** I've mentioned that I'm not fearful of lines that show intersex. On the contrary...I don't look at intersex as a bad thing. I've never found intersex to be a problem. I'll go so far as to say...I respect expressions that desire to continue on...and that some of the very best expressions show intersex.

Both the Mox Mox IX1 and the Hell Hound IX1 have expressions that show intersex very early on. In fact...so far in this run...the majority of the plants have shown intersex. Like 80% of them to this point. Those intersex expressions also...represent the most desirable plants. They are the best ones. I've been pollinating them...whereas..(and not because they don't show intersex) the ones that don't...are not as choice..and have not been pollinated.

Early on...in weeks 3-4 of flowering...I'm finding plenty of bananas/balls during stretch. Down low...and some up high. I use tweezers to remove them...basically just part of my cultivation routine. To me: this is the norm when growing these plants.

After weeks 3-4 they mellow out and get to work on blasting wonderful flowers. Maybe..here and there..I'll pick off a nanner..but it's been really minimal...and they don't seem viable.

*** It's about gardening. If you are not into the extra work...I understand...but I'm a gardener. I collect the best....I use the best..and it's annoying to hear other gardeners bash on intersex plants...just because they are washed in mire that everything in cannabis lines must be stable..or it's poor breeding and they are junk. That's hogwash...I'm telling you. Those cultivators are basically fucking themselves out of awesome expressions...and also being closed minded in their bias. In a well kept garden...where the work is put in...successfully cultivating intersex showing lines is simple and safe.

**** It should also be noted that my flower studio is tight. Temps and pH are kept in proper ranges...and there are no light leaks. I'm my own timer though...meaning...I plug in and plug out the light cycle. The flowering plants...generally...are getting 12/12...but that's general. Sometimes the lights go on 15-20 minutes early...or hell..they may go on 10 minutes late...lol...I'm not exact. Sometimes (if I'm busy with other things) I may even unplug the lights an hour early...whatever. Anyone who has followed this thread...knows that exactness is something I consider sin
