Washington MMJ Patients: URGENT!!

it seems they can better judge our needs than we can.

call your representatives and whine about losing control of your medication's production.
you'll have absolutely no control over quality in govt stores.

..."here drink this"..., 'is it poison?'...

the state needs to step back....
they gave themselves 1 year to write the rules....and thats still not done...
they are now looking at another year to implement ALL the rules....

I502 was written to allow the state to profit in the recreational MJ market.... plain and simple.... FINE....

BUT 1 yr later.... loads of BULLSHIT.... and nothing is said and done...

let alone a single store actually open and successful.....that alone for them will take ANOTHER year..... to show successes... let alone profit..... JUST like ANY another NEW bizniz....

BUT no... instead the state has to get greedy and try and tackle a entirely different issue...
there way of just CENTRALIZING...pot and lumping the whole thing into one department...

thus monopolizing the pot industry in this state....

problem?..... why yes.... all these years of efforts.... are only allowing the underground black/ grower's market to strengthen.... and profit more....

thus defeating the WHOLE idea.....

idiots greed,.... will destroy the whole thing... if not careful
they need to step-back and just get there own original program up and running....

recreational pot shops owned by the state for the state w/ state licensed growers....PERIOD

REVISIT all this a other crap.... after.....
U do what.....
U said....
U would do.... in the dam 1st place.

which is what is already written law in WA.....
between this.... and individual counties.... placing moratoriums on the whole program for 6 months at a time.....

thus delaying the program even further... for entire state compliance....

thats the whole other problem.... the state Will have to fight w/ every county that will not / does not comply to state law....

its coming....

the state has BIGGER problems w/ all this ....
than.... fucking w/ the Medical community
thats been in place for almost 20 yrs...

looking like DumB~AsSeS...we are.... dumbasses
because of bureaucratize greed....
over WEED....... the people will get pissed

the black market will thrive.............. same as it EVER~WAS

Sigh. I encourage all of Washington State to fight back, to remind the power structure that they want legal marijuana in a much broader sense than this attempted imposition of authority & control.

If it's legal to brew your own beer, ferment your own wine, distill your own whiskey & cultivate your own tobacco, the same should be true for cannabis.

While imperfect to say the least, Colorado's A64 anchors legalization in a much stronger way by specifically allowing anonymous home cultivation. No matter what else happens, that likely will never be rescinded, rendering authorities impotent in rolling back the clock.

If only 1% of Colorado citizens 21 or older take advantage of that, it's 30,000 very diffuse & difficult to identify growers. Not so in Washington, where attempts are being made to corral growers into an easy target for future federal intervention, with full cooperation by local authorities. The Feds can take down the "legal" growers, while the locals can deal with "illegal" growers. They're trying to build a trap, one with plausible deniability. If it ever comes to a crackdown, State authorities will just put it off on the big bad Feds, whom they're "powerless" to stop.

It's bullshit, of course, because they can effectively stop the Feds by making it legal for people to grow their own.

Law enforcement is going to make $ off the seizures from "illegal" home grows, if this passes.

Feds, State gov, Big Business, and Law Enforcement vs Medical patients

Illegal cultivation, without a lic, will also carry a Class B felony
10 years and 20k fine. Penalties are getting stronger and will be enforced. imo
Only takes a few raids on large grows, and a few arrest and seizures of small home grows, to send a WAKE UP CALL!
It doesn't take much for them to figure out who is doing what. Heat signatures from lights, 12/12 power readouts.... Many ways for leo to have easy access to what/where grows are.
Small time ops might be able to fly under the radar. Not worth the risk for this guy.
Its fd that the feds (and local law enforcement?) can make seizures without proving guilt, or presenting a case. Only comical requirements need to be met in order for the powers that be to take EVERYTHING! With no course of reaction. Maybe years of expensive litigation? with what $, and from where?

Big $ has paid off the politicians to put this into action. Recreational Cannabis could be a billion dollar industry, if done right. They will do anything and everything to protect these financial interests. Bought Monopoly

I gotta give it to them though. Pretty nice business model for all cannabis.
Buy the States Cannabis, or face prosecution!
The 502 business structure is set up to fail, as it stands now.

I don't want to pay big pharma for my medicine!
I also don't want to go to PRISON to provide safe, quality, afffordable medicine.

It was my understanding that the implementation of I-502 was to convert black market growers to legal tax paying citizens. AS TO NOT FORGET THE LITTLE GUY!

If a person can grow medicinal grade cannabis in their closet, why can't they grow recreational grade cannabis?

Thats basically what they said to get 502 passed.
Medical is a direct competing market for 502. In their own words.
502 wants ALL money, not just some.
the new legislature they are trying to pass proves it.

Ive been trying to find info on anyone fighting this and haven't found much.. someones gotta put out a proposition.. right? there will be no more medical patients. everything is getting swept under I-502. no more home grows. vary sad.
I know a low income patient, that's only means of obtaining affordable medication is through outdoor production. He gets his YEAR supply from doing so, capping at the legal 60 day supply limit 1.5lbs. He made it low cost by creating pretty much what id call a life time supply of feminized seeds. all he has to do is pay for fertilizer and his license renews.. roughly $150 in all. now to get the same amount of needed medication, sate estimated at $15 a gram.. should run him upwards of $5,000 a year....... $150 to $5,000 is a huge jump.. there really F-ing the patients in Washington.

The public may provide input about the proposed recommendations to regulate medical marijuana at medicalmarijuana@liq.wa.gov. The comment period ends November 8, 2013. You may view the proposed recommendations on Liquor Control Board's website.

I just received a surprising phone call.....

I recently contacted my Representitives in Olympia regarding the draft recommendations from LCB and DOH regarding changes to RCW69.51A. I was surprised at how receptive they were to what I had to say. Considering I live in an area of the State that I live is about as conservative as it gets in WA they were VERY open and supportive.

The surprise came when I answered my phone today and on the other end was the Director of WSLCB. I was pleasantly surprised to find that he is a supporter of MMJ and interested in maintaining safe access for MMJ patients.

We spoke for about 45 minutes and three key points came up repeatedly:

1. Availability of medicine to all. Understanding that those of us in more remote and conservative areas may not have access to medicine if homegrows are eliminated. A significant portion of our State's residents live 60-100miles (or more) from the nearest likely outlets if the recommendations pass as writen.

2. Affordability of medicine. Price and tax structure will change significantly if the recommendations are adopted as presented in the draft. This could have a huge impact on affordability of medicene.

3. Selection of appropriate medicine. Forcing medical patients to purchase medicine from 502 stores would likely limit our selection to strains best suited to the recreational market. It is likely that most 502 retail outlets will be catering to the recreational customer and less likely to have strains suitable to the medical community.

A good portion of the discussion came down to how damaging it would be to MMJ patients to eliminate the option to home grow. Mr. Garza did have one question that I did not have a good answer for. "How do we regulate home grows?". IMHO: Home grows are currently not a significant problem. I asked "How do you regulate people who brew there own beer at home?". His response was that home brewers have an exemption and are not regulated by LCB. LCB only takes action against a home brewer if there is a complaint that they are violating the law. IE: Selling 6 pack to the kids down the street?

Why no the same standard for home grows? Exepmtion from oversite unless there is a complaint of violation?

This is a rough overview of the conversation. Not complete in detail or argument. I wanted to pass on, quickly, that there are people in Olympia who are listening. WE NEED TO SPEEK UP!!!!!

CALL!!! EMAIL!!! WRITE!!!

Battery is going dead on my laptop. I will follow up soon.

PLEASE!! CONTACT YOUR REPS!! Give them a REASONABLE argument for why the recommended changes will be harmfull to responsible medical patients!

HomeGrows are ESSENTIAL to keeping quality medicine available to needful patients!
