Indoor MMJ Floorplan Design in Progress

<reposted from earlier thread to change thread title>

I am first time grower designing a MMJ grow room. The room will be setup co-located in my studio so while I have more room size than I plan to use I have more room for future if I can fit in with my guitars and amps... :) My total studio room size is 9'x11' with 7'9" ceiling

Desire get best quality and best quantity per crop on a two to three crop per year cycle since my needs are small. I will not be focusing on a single strain and will likely run 3 to 4 strains in the same cycle and will keep mothers for cloning in all cases as I search for the best medicine.

Current Design:
Using one wall of my music studio 9ft long
widths of 3ft up to 5ft possible but prefer smallest footprint that meets my individual needs
Plan for 4-12 plants coco DTW
3 crops per year emphasizing quality

Struggling to nail down lighting but I think the dPap is the fixture for my needs.

Welcome all feedback and advice

Latest design iteration using 3'x9' subdivided into two closets 3'x4.5 (13.5 sq ft each)

thinking about making the separator panel adjustable but may not go thru all that effort and just make it static.

Latest design iteration, lost track of the count. Have increased room allocated to grow area to 4x9, the lenght of my studio wall. Will subdivide that into two closets to give 4x6 to Flower and 4x3 to rest of needs for veg/clone/mom. In order to be able to set the grow area to 4x9, I am taking out some other items I was going to temporarily house in the studio, that gives other benefits anyway. Desk and half wall added with area for monitor and shelf on top.

This design gives me more grow area but also affords me ample space for practice and recording, as well as provide more room for more amps!!! :rtfo:

Initial attempt at a side view. Maybe I'm complicating it too much with the stacked boxes???? feedback welcomed.

I thought the extra grow shelf might be nice addition though. Easily removed at this point.

Maybe play guitar somewhere else and use all the space?

Tho those green laidies like music too.
So if I had 4x6 flower room I would get 4'x6' flood table with trellis and 2x 600's for 50w/sqft or 1000's for better penetration. Maybe run it vertical with the trellis around the walls like Marlo did with 400's in smaller space?
If there aren't plastic trays with right dimensions available you could diy with wood and pondliner.

Get atleast 360cubicfeet per min (room volume x2 per min) ventilation to the flower room, you want to grow bud not mold. Orca/mylar/pandafilm/ at least white paint to the walls to not waste light.
Increasing plant numbers will ofcourse increase yelds and reduce the veg time needed. If you want steadier supply of weed build two 4'x3' fliprooms with 600's for harvest every 4-5 weeks, strain dependant ofcourse.

thanks for the feed back westcoasthobo. Hadn't thought about a fliproom approach till your post, so thanks bud! I could divide the 4x9 area into 2 4x4'6" identical rooms and do that. However, I'm also interested in keeping mothers which is more important to me than a continual harvest or similar approach to reduce cycle times.

Big changes again tonight in the design. I'm liking this much better though. Solves a few size constraint issues and should provide me with a good indoor grow setup. Simplifies things quite a bit actually. lost the whole stackable idea, just two rooms as shown. Flipped the locations though and think I will divide with a tent like zipper arrangement. I can move to resize however I need to in the future this way. The wall that creates the 4x9 area will be very narrow and I'll use a sliding door to get into the veg/clone/mother area.

Need to decide how to handle water. I could build in polyethylene containers in between the floor joists if I really wanted to at this point.... hmmm never ends does it... I think I need to stop designing and finish building.

Been a while since ive updated this design... no new pics but I have settled on a layout different than these prior ones. Im going ro do a 5.5 x 5.5 room with an epap that is on order from DGS. I am going to excavate to 10' ceiling tonight... wish me luck. Stoked for my finalized plan.

Thx Budler I will. Im taking photos so I can put up a build thread someday. Carting out my excavated soil now... Im determined to get to a 10' ceiling in order to get the best out of my epap.

This week is holiday for me so im on a mission to get alot done on this space. Im nearly 50 but im still in good enough shape for one more gorilla dig n haul...

Fifty, me two next yr. not old if you look after youself, are you gonna have a dirt floor or frame in some plywood floor ? I once saw a grow room dirt floor and the grower couldn't control humidity runnin to high and getting bud mold. stacking bare six huns for a small space and do a stadium style grow with Coco DTW That's what im runnin and am very happy with it don't need much floor space but ten ft ceiling perfect. So many styles but coco is one of the best . enjoy the days off lots of digging and jamming at nite nothing more fun than building a new grow room keep postin up.. :tiphat:buddler

^^^-- I will man, I will! I'm enjoying the hell out of it. Going to make for a fun memory man, I'm feeling it. At our age, I have to take alot of photos or I'll forget exactly where everything is at and exactly far off something is or isn't.... why I feel compelled to know all this stuff escapes me but it doesn't cost anything to take a dig pic...

Anyway - as far as floor goes. I have not exactly decided as what I do will be dependent upon ultimately how deep I dig. I have total control over that but I'm tired of digging already man! hehe I'm at it like a f*n woodchuck each night and now taking work time off to enlarge the "bunker" as we call it in the family. But I'm going to use cement board for all the walls and the floor. Going to tile it and grout it when I get the cement board done. The cement board will be at least doubled on all surfaces and maybe tripled.... in between each layer of cement board will be accoustic green glue troweled on, the rate of three tubes per 4x8. This thing HAS to be quiet as well.

I'm putting plastic and then some peagravel down once I finish excavation. There should be no wood to earth contact. I'll probably rip some treated 2x10s and make supports for the floor i'm thinking.

cheers

Spring and summer - I'm thinking of collecting it and reusing runoff in the yard. So no true W in the DTW I hope, not researched that deeply yet to be honest tho.

Winter to fall - drain to back yard. Its an easy thing to run it into black slit drainage pipe so that it seeps out over a wider surface area.

I've only just started to think about how to handle the terminus but I have options. And one of the options is pumping it to my real sump which then lifts and expels it to sewer line. I do not know if this is worth the effort tho, I'm not going to generate "that" much waste water.

Also - I am going to sink a sump into the floor so I'm going deeper than 10' in one hole I guess. From there it is pumped up from the sump with a light lift pump and expelled from the room. I've got the floor out (of course) so plumbing is no problem here. I'm also running 100a 220v service to it from an outpanel. My ventilation, plumbing, and electric all come in and out under the room in one central location which is a benefit with this location.

Dude I just crushed 3.5#s with 2 600 watters over a 3x6 tray.
That would fit perfectly in your little room. Add a little wall unit a/c, some bottled co2 and a little dehu and bam you'll be smashing it to
