looking for sum input....

Microbe Lift Autumn/Winter Prep is a two-part system of LIQUID bacteria and DRY, water soluble packets containing a blend of cellulase enzymes, cellulase-producing bacteria and a cold weather bacteria. The cellulase enzymes, along with the cellulase-producing bacteria, are the key to accelerating the breakdown of leaves, organic sediment and sludge all winter long. The cold weather bacteria and liquid bacteria take care of the initial breakdown by-products.

Continues to provide sustained biological activity even in water temperatures under 40°F. (4°C.)
Contains psychrophilic strains (cold weather bacteria)
If frozen, bacteria will remain effective after thawing out
Effective in darker conditions (under ice and snow)
Helps to maintain a healthy immune system for your fish during the winter months

and this....

http://www.espoma.com/p_consumer/per..._overview.html

Soil Perfector®
Successful plantings require a soil structure consisting of approximately 50% solids, 25% pore space for air, and 25% pore space for moisture. While this may be common in undisturbed forest areas, it is not the general rule for homeowners today, whose topsoil has often been stripped away.

Many homeowners have heavy clay soils, which lack adequate pore space for air and can lead to poor drainage, reduced root growth, and greater susceptibility to environmental stress. Others have dry sandy soils, which lack adequate pore space for water which can lead to excessive drainage, as well as a loss of nutrients from the root zone.
All natural soil conditioner.
Permanently improves clay and sandy soils.
Add to all potting mixes and soils.
Prevents compaction and promotes root growth.
One time application. Won’t break down.
In 27 lb. bags.

Morning everyone! Its your daily WL seeks advice portion of your day.....

So, a buddy of mine is going to be giving me a couple clones of the strains he is currently running so I can mix things up a bit in my garden. My issue is what preventative measures do i need to take when bringing outside source in.....ive never taken clones from anyone other than myself so ive never had to do any preventative measures....

I see alot about azamax and neem, but i was curious what you bigshots do when bringing in outside sources. What products and method? Dip, root drench, foliar, HELP!!!

thanks guys

if you find bugs ..... we can help from there . check all the leaves under & on top & check the soil they came in .

Thanks dans, but i also want to do some preventative even if i dont find bugs. I see all kinds of horror stories so i figure i might as well give em a good preventative dip or two just to be safe.

Yea i was checking out the prices at HD. They have a lot of good gardening gear. I was suprised to see the even carry 1k ballasts and R/O systems. And I would go with the t5, but I just need it for 5-7 days. So i dont wanna spend a lot on it.

So im guessing that t5's are better than t8's. I thought they were just thicker, not necessarily better.

They most important thing is that you keep them in quarantine for a while. Like Dans said. And then if bugs do show, you can take care of them, and not worry about them spreading. And try and have your quarantine spot as far away from your garden as possible. I use a downstairs bathroom when i need to quarantine.

then a neem or Organised once a week should be a pretty good preventative .

Gorilla glue's are almost ready to put into dirt. All 4 have roots. :biggrin:Whataya guys think, a couple more days in the EZ cloner and they'll be ready?

Even the little one I didn't think would make it has little roots:)
picture.php

It took longer than usual, but Ive identified the reasons why:
1)low humidity
2)the pump in my EZcloner was on to high (the water was blasting the roots a little too hard.)
3)I scraped a little too much "skin" of the cutting (I used scalpels for the first time and they were sharper than the razors I usually use.)

Pappy it all about the spectrum of light they put out . for plant use T12's are junk but will work . T8's are better than the 12's & T5's are the best for our use . gotta make sure & get the white/daylight spectrum of 6500K the 2700K are a warm white & better for flower . most commercial fixtures come with 5k & they're closer to the white & have been wiorking fine .

lotus i seem to recall a jorge cervantes or kyle kushman vidoe on youtube about using a quick bleach rinse on incoming clones but i dont remember the ratio of bleach to water...its generally safer to bring in cuttings rather than rooted clones...i only take clones from people i absolutely trust as well, and only very very rarely at that, the glue and cookies were the first cuts i had taken in for years....i like selecting my own most of the time, glad i have the glue though...

fladankster, good to see yah back around...pretty much the same crew, just a new address and less camelot!

i think y'all were sayin sumthin about yer fancy air-oh cloners?
granted it took 3 weeks to get here, but i never even changed the water in the cup and basically ignored them, even ran them out of water and wilted these....and this is one of the backup cuts too,i only kept it around to make sure the first 2 rooted into the cups properly...

I don't normally take rooted clones(I only except these from 1 person) from anyone just cuts. All get dipped in forbid or Avid. I was using Spinosad (does not kill mites)had to add Azamax. I use these 2 for maintenance every 2 weeks until they're ready for flower. Just make sure you mix it right. This shit will kill your plants overnight if its to strong. Start off with the lowest dosage for everything.

Check your plants regularly with a magnifier to see the critters. Broad Mites are very small.
