Coco first timer

hi guys,
I searched the forums but the into im looking for seems very scattered and very scarce.

I am used to growing in Plagron Soil due to me not needed nutes till flowering.
Cut a long story short the idiot at the shop that i requested Plagron light mix soil to be picked up later my my friend, I paid and left, he gave my friend Plagron 100% coco. My friend is clueless so i don't blame him.

So i decided rather than spend on a taxi to fix the hydro shops incompetence I should try and grow COCO.

O.k I am ordering
Fish Emulsion 5-2-2 Organic Bonsai Feed

I am told i will need more feeds for early stages. I dont want to be paying out a fortune. what other feeds is a MUST.

I will be growing from seed, hand watering.

Please only reply if you know first hand.
Please don't reply with answers if you took the answers from a thread you read.

I mean no offense but i would rather not listen to hear'say.

Any replys will be awesome and a Grow diary based on your input will be up as soon as I can wrap my head around what to do next

Coco needs to be fed every time & needs to stay wet .... not saturated but wet . & it needs runoff so the salts don't build up .

my suggestion would be to grab coco nutes & read through a few of the coco threads here . cuz if you don't have a grasp of what coco needs .... you'll find yourself fighting defs . being a soil grower .... i'm assuming you don't have an EC or PH meter .... they are NEEDED when feeding coco .

grab some canna coco nutes , the 2 meters & get some reading done BEFORE you transplant into the coco ..... or go swap it for the soil your used to .

I would consider using nutrients in available salt form commonly called "chem" (hate that term) unless you are set on growing organically and are planning on adding beneficial bacteria and other amendments.

I have been happy with a KISS method using MaxiBloom @ 7g/gal through veg and flower. Thats around 1.8 EC. Some strains are a bit sensitive so I dial it back to 3.5 or 5g/gal but I feed with every water and I water everyday to runoff.

Its easy, one part, complete and inexpensive. All of the micro and macro nutrients are a "must" for a plant. It doesnt matter what bottle they come in. Another reason i like MaxiBloom. It contains all the nutrients in a single product. (would need some pH down to get the solution to an appropriate level)

Making nutrients readily available uses the coco to its potential as a "blank canvas" You can really get a level of control that is harder to do with organics.

Just give them base nutes. GH flora is the way I roll 6/9 is my favorite.
No need to give them anything else unless you have water issues.
Keep them in small enough pots that you can water them at least once a day(except after transplating). PH 5.5-6
Skip additives and any other nute bottle and you will love coco

ph down
Canna Coco a&b
1ml H&G drip clean per 10 litres nutrient to stop salt build up.
Simple.

Plenty of good coco grows on here to read.

Best advice I can give you on coco is put it in 2 gallon Hempy buckets. Save on coco, and get huge yields by feeding daily. I use K.I.S.S. method, which is basically Maxibloom, but do not forget the Rhizotonic (Canna) for early growth. Stimulates roots. Also use Triacontanol for increased yields/faster finishing times.

what ever way you look at it your going to have to go back to your local store and purchase more nutes. if your look for the least expensive way hand water. probably best doing this way for your first coco grow,

canna coco A+B 1L bottles will only cost you 17 euros which is not very expensive. this will be your main base line nutes.. as said above you can also add Rhizotonic, cannazyem, pk13/14 plus some sort of booster..

you will also need to ph your nutrient solution cheapest option is get on ebay and by a ph meter. i got one this week for around 10 euro including P+P probably work out cheaper for you. EC meter is needed but you can hold off and get it agian if your stuck for cash like i am ;)..

thanks for your feedback fellas,

seems a bit complicated to what im used to.

I am short on funds so my Diary will be a soil grow.

I purchased some plagron soil and old timer feeds with HALO leaf spray feed.
