Were these a seed run?

They were both seed runs done by one of my boys. From 18 Stardawg female pheno's, these were the keepers that made it so far but that doesn't mean that they are keepers. I forget how many Moterbreath females that he had but there are 5 left that I'm testing now. So my run was a clone run and my boys run was the seed run.

Synpe you are one of a very small handful of people on this site that could understand how I can crack 500 seeds and consider maybe 2-3 of them as actual keepers, and that's if I'm lucky.

I can completely understand. I'm sure that tells you that most growers here don't have true keepers unless they are growing specific clone only's. Anyone who thinks it's easy to find a keeper in a couple packs of seeds doesn't have the standards that we have.

For me, this is Haze. I compare everything to haze, and so far in 20+ years of smoking nothing has compared. I have a bunch of haze from different breeders, and several thousand Mexican landrace beans I plan to start growing out at some point.

Yeah I love a Haze myself! Sativa's are what I'm looking for in my personal use.

Wow that #9 looks amazing for only being 36 days in.

Yeah she really does! Maybe she will be an early finish!

Today I made some Bubble Hash for the first time in 2 years. Now I remember why I switched to Hash Oil. I only made a small batch with 4 oz of Purple Urkle from the outdoor harvest. I also harvested the outdoor BYTCH. She was taken a few days early and she's not as dense as the indoor. The big Urkle bush I thought would have over a pound only had 3/4 of a pound but it was real frosty and purple. She also had a good density to her as well and smells real nice. Most of the other outdoors are harvested except around 5 plants that still need more time.

I've been so focused in other areas of growing that there's certain things that I'm not too good at that I need to start working on. After speaking to another IC Member, he showed me why I have too many plants per RDWC system and should take 2 of the buckets out. He also showed me that I need to really train my canopy and use a SCROG. After thinking about it, it all made perfect sense and I didn't realize my current methods were creating my plants to stretch too tall when they didn't have to. Most of my life I was a SOG grower and grew donkey dicks with minimal VEG time (maybe a few days) so there was no need to train or LST or even top for that matter. Now that I'm growing bigger plants, it seems if I train all of the plants a certain way over a net screen of maybe 6" holes, then I can spread out the plants and focus on those top sites which would be 128 top buds that I would need for every 2,000 Watts. Now that means that for 10 RDWC buckets under 2,000 Watts, I would need to have 13 tops from each plant to fill her section of the screen. Maybe I would need 2 screens at different heights but I'm not sure. I'm thinking to keep the plants for the top screen would be around 36" and then have a screen under that one to train the plants beforehand. The problem with all of this is that most of this training seems like it's going to be happening with BYTCH in the first few week of flowering which could be difficult but I'm going to try it out and see if I can still produce at least the same yield with shorter and fewer plants. Seeing my grow as a 4 foot by 8 foot net that contain 128 squares shows me how I can maximize my grow much more. I'm sure there will be a learning curve but hopefully I can fill most of the squares on the first try. Those plants will be going to an RDWC system in about 5 days and this time I will use no tomato cages and build a screen.

Now that I think of it, I'm probably going to build the first screen 16" above the top of the buckets. The screen will be 3.5' wide x 7.5' length. I'm taking into account that some buds on the outside can flop more out and take up more space and not need a screen there. So now there will be 98 x 6" squares to fill. So with 10 plants to fill the space, I would need each plant to have 10 mains to fill the holes in their grid. Seems pretty simple so we will see how it goes. I'm not sure where the 2nd screen will go but I'm pretty sure if I can fill all of the holes in the first 16" screen, then I can flip to flower right there and see how tall they get after they stretch and see if I have to do anything to keep them down. I usually keep the lights in place 64" away from the top of the bucket but now I'm going to keep the plants closer to the light as they grow and see if I can get them to stay smaller. It would be nice to see these plants not finish higher than 36".

I guess Im just too old fashioned.
Im still rolling joints after 25 years of smoking.
I dont like bowls, bongs, blunts, vapes, eating it, kief, hash, or any concentrates.
I just roll joints.
Maybe one of these days Ill get lucky enough to sample some good shatter or dab a little bit. Ill atleast try something once. I just love my joints though.

Same here, been rolling joints for 20 years, and I don't see it stopping any time soon. Though around 10 years ago I was introduced to bubble hash, then oil. Every since then I like to mix a bit of hash into my joints. Though I am rather fond of glycerin based tincture for pain and sleep .

I prefer joints myself and pretty much smoke joints all day but I gotta have my oil and hash at least. I can understand people not liking oil but Hash? You're really missing out!

I like to put some oil or hash right onto a bowl of ash!

The plants that are in the tent are at 39 days flower right now. 2 of the plants look like they are starting to finish but who knows. At least 50% of the hairs have turned orange and no foilers have been applied at any point. In the past I had a Double Strawberry Diesel that used to finish at 46 days and I also had a Strawberry Cough that was done at 52 days. I'm not sure if Motorbreath #2 will be included in my list of short finishers but it's hard to see this plant going more than 55 days with the way it looks now:

picture.php

After looking at the trichs, I saw a few small ones that looked amber but it was very few. There was a good amount of milky trichs and clear ones were still visible. It's hard to say how early this plant will finish but I won't be surprised if she's done in 2 weeks. Look at what the hairs on a BYTCH look like at 49 Days in Flower:

picture.php

As you can see in BYTCH at 49 days have mostly white hairs unlike Motorbreath #2 which has at least 50% orange hairs at only 39 days of Flower.

The other plant in the tent that looks like she is going to finish early is StarDawg #9. Her hairs are not as turned as Motorbreath #2 but she's getting close. The only plant in the tent that I can say is not a keeper is Motorbreath #5 and her MOMs have been discarded.

Frosted bud leaves usually go to making Hash Oil with my Tamisium Extractor:

I use instrument grade n-butane and then I winterize in 190 Proof Food Grade Grape Ethanol.

In the first picture below, the top tank (recovery tank) is filled with 400 grams of butane. I have it attached to the column that is filled with 2 oz of sugar trim via a quick connect. Below the column is another chamber that I add 100 mL 190 Proof Grape Ethanol. The bottom of the unit that contains the ethanol is submerged in ice and water and then I open the valves to allow the butane to flow through the column and then it goes into the bottom chamber into the ethanol:
picture.php

The next picture below, I'm transferring the butane from the bottom of the unit back to the recovery tank via a food grade stainless steel hose. I utilize pressures from hot and cold water to get the butane back into the recovery tank. The butane doesn't go through the column to get back into the recovery tank. I place the hose below the column and that whole part of the unit is submerged in 110 degree F water while the recovery tank is submerged in water and ice. The recovery tank that is submerged in ice will have a lower pressure than the tank in hot water. The butane wants to go to where it is cold and butane turns to liquid below 31 degrees F so I need to keep the recovery tank colder than 31 degrees F. So in this next picture, the butane is going from the tank of the left to the tank on the right which takes about 45 minutes:
picture.php

When that is complete, I open the unit and I have my extraction mixed with Ethanol which is what this next picture is here:
picture.php

Now I put this mixture through a coffee filter as pictured here:
picture.php

After the ethanol / hash oil mixture goes through the filter, I place it into a freezer for 48 hours and then I put it through a coffee filter one last time to remove the waxes. Now I need to get rid of the ethanol. I simply use a double boiler on the stove and I boil off the ethanol and at the end I am left with pure Hash Oil as pictured here:
picture.php

Now at the end of the process I am left with pure Hash Oil and I still have all of my butane for future use again!

Those lollipop pops are crazy...
The lollipops are very potent and easy to make! I have a tutorial on how to make them that you can find in my "Guide to New Growers" in my signature. Try them out sometime!

Awesome, nice work! If you didn't want to retain the butane, would you just skip to the coffee filter right after the first step?

Yeah you are correct but I always recover my butane because it can become expensive.

Snypette is finally moving in! Work has been very time consuming working alone. Lately it's been hard keeping up with all of the work. Seems like I'm always behind on something. Because of this I've only been eating 1 small meal per day but I know that's about to change with Snypette in the picture.

On another note, a bunch of pig came to move into the farm! All the pig that came will end up as food for us. Seems sad but it's all just part of life. I would much rather eat my own animals than to buy meat in stores that you have no idea what chemicals/hormones are contained in it. They are pretty cute though.

This is a nice and simple method to get some Hashoil.
Thank you so much for explaining it :)

I will take a seat here and enjoy the Show.

Cheers mate
