Pure Evel: American Legend
Loved Evel Knievel as a kid. He was my hero along with Neil Armstrong.
I found out what a hypocrite and general asshole he was when I got older. I saw him once in a restaurant in Clearwater Florida. He was drunk and shouting "Do you know who I am? I'm Evel Knievel!" Not sure what the hullabaloo was about, a bottle of wine I think.
The man had balls, or maybe just crazy as an outhouse rat.
Interesting show. It neither glamourizes him or demonizes him. Lots of original footage and interviews with people that knew him. It does show him pretty much as he was, arrogant, defiant and cock-sure of himself.
