Hi,
For introduction I grow for fun in my balcony old seed (6 years old) left in my drawer.
With 8 seeds (ICE Nirvana) only 2 survives, but I have now 2 males (no luck).

I would like know If I can turn my plant hermie, maybee put some banana peel or apple with my plant inside a bag, for my plant can get some ethylene.

The goal is have some seed for next year, if seeds is herma is fine for me.

If you have some tips for turn my plant hermie I take it.

Hi, if I understand it you want to turn a plant into a hermaphrodite ??? I think that the production of hermaphrodites seeds is genetically incorrect ... however if you want to turn your plant in herma just give irregular light cycle ... it often turns plants to herma ...

Ive only ever seen 3 hermies in my life. I put all 3 down to stress. might be wrong but stressful events coincided with them turning, 1 repotting during during flower. other 2 due to excessive heat and wind.

as the above poster mentioned you could stress it out with erratic light cycles... either what ever you do will mess with your yield with no guarantee of success.

and just a side note. 2 out of the 3 I kept the beans and I grew out the following year, with no hermies to show at all.

If you want seeds, buy some online, collect them from bags or ask friends to save them.

Or just grow out a few females and let them flower until they produce "naners" and self pollinate. A lot of females will do this if given enough time. It is normal and natural and you'll end up with "feminized" seeds.

Getting a mature male to "herm" and self pollinate is not practical or even worth it with the abundance of relatively inexpensive seeds out there.

If you want to keep the genetics of the male plant, take a cutting and keep it in vegetative growth until you find a suitable female to pollinate. You can also collect pollen and store it. Later, you can "paint" the pollen onto female stigma to make seeds.
