Is this OG kush?

This cutting was given to me as OG kush. When I asked my friend where it came from, he said a guy gave it to him. I'm not in cali, so I don't think it's an actual cut from the real deal, but I'm just wondering if it even looks close?
And of course, it doesn't really matter. It's good, and that's all that matters. But it's nice too be able to put a name on it.
Here she is at 28 days 12/12:

It could be, it looks close. Too hard to tell for sure at this point. You will be able to tell more when it comes close to finishing, OG has a very distinct look to the buds.

Are the branches thin and flimsy? OGK has very vine like flimsy branches.

There is like 1000 plants out there that people call OG Kush these days so it would be very hard to tell which cut or could have came from seed.

The stems aren't too flimsy. About average I'd say. The stretch wasn't too bad either. It about doubled in height, but the internodes stayed pretty tight.
It started frosting up pretty fast. About 2 weeks in,I think.

Have you smelled or smoked any variation? Of OG? It should have that distinct kushy smell to her by now. Either way, that plant looks great, real healthy! Going to be some killer smoke OG or not.

Unfortunately I haven't. And I'm not really good at placing the smells. It smells good, but it's not to the point that I can describe it yet.
The usage of the word "kush"kind of confuses me. When I got into this while thing 15+ years ago,"kush" meant something from the kush mountains, like Afghani, or Hindu kush. Now I think people just tag the word on so it sounds good. That's kind of why I started this thread, I feel kind of cheesy saying that it's og kush, but I don't know what else to call it.

Being in Cali doesn't necessarily mean the OG's you're picking up are legit. OG came from Florida originally, so if you're in any other US state and some guy gave you an OG Kush clone I'd say your chances of having a legit cutting are as good or better than if you were in Cali... Problem with the Cali clone trade is its too easy, any fuck can start a mom room and start payin rent, with that kind of a free market its far too tempting for all these clone vendors lacking integrity to label everything an "___ OG" cutting..

Politics aside I'd say whatever you have looks cool and you should keep it around if it smokes bomb.

Oh no, its not og kush. :) who cares. Looks good tho:)

Only og if u call it og.... looks kushy:) dark green, flushing that? Kush is generally a darker green bud. There r a million so some r not. Anywho enjoy it:) looks tasty.

Ive got a og maple tree in my backyard. Only og maple tree in the world. No idea what makes it og it just is:)

It's definitely got some OG traits.

Here is a good idicator. OG grows its buds in a certain way.

Along the stem of OG plants the secondary buds will alternate, one bud on one side of the stem, a few inches up a bud on the other side of the stem.

Any OG I have grown or seen has been like this. Where as other strains secondary buds will grow side by side.

If you have a penetrating stink and alternating bud formations, you've probably got an OG. OG stinks the high heaven, no fruit, it's most akin to a sour diesel type strain. Funky garbage, with pine, lemon and dill notes.

Looks nice whatever it is. Could be an OG cross. Leaf shape doesn't look like any of the verified cuts from what I've seen.

Funny because I have an OGK in 12/12 on day 28 right now too.

There are many different OGKs. It depends on where the seed came from.

The one you have looks very similar to what I have. I got it from Attitude seed bank.

I have a friend who got an OGK clip from someone and it looks nothing like what I have.

Let's see it! Here's another shot of mine that does show the alternating buds on the stem. If that really means anything?
Guess I need to rotate my pics.

it looks similiar but not identical to my sfv ogk...
id guess, that it is something from the og lineage... that is about as definitive as u can get without genetic testing.... looks like a gorgeous plant either way.. good growing!

Well, after checking back with my friend, he seems to think it came from a pack of seeds. no idea from who though.

I'm sure at best, it's a cross, or relative. I'm wondering what people mean when they say something is "kushy"? I'm guessing the smell is the most recognizable trait? Most off the descriptions I've found say piney, and chemically funk. For me, they all have a sweet smell until they get closer to the end. And it also depends where you're smelling from.
My lemon skunk (dna) reaks of stanky skunk from a distance, but when you stick your nose in it, it's sweet and sour funky fruit.

I second that , DNA Lemon skunk ranks with the best in my book . Smell is so exotic u can't keep it on the shelf . Sorry for going off topic .

Yeah and after looking at your last picture, mine is different.

No recent pics. Maybe later.

The one I have stretches with more distance than usual between nodes and light poofs of flower development at each node with VERY high calyx to leaf ratio and large thin bladed leaves.
