Ideal plant height for 600w donuts?

Whats up everyone,

Just wondering what the most ideal plant height would be for a 600 donut setup. Also how low to drop the bulb between the plants after stretch?

It seems like the tops of the plants arent getting enough light when I drop it down so I just wanna make sure, thanks!

Sup spaceboy ,,IMO 3 foot at most per 600 works well, otherwise' when you drop your bulb down ,the lower buds are left out of the light penetration spot ,making all that larf that we try so hard not to grow!

keep adjusting your lights as the plants are stretchn, once stretch is over which is normally around 3-4 weeks, drop the bulb down in the donut so that the top of the mogal socket is at the same height as the top of your buds, you want your whole plant to fit into the penetration 'zone sideways',without overvegging or hacking away to much

peace

ive done about 5 ft plants with 600's but they were HEAVILY lollipopped to about 3 feet wide at the top. like PT said above, anything other than about 3 foot wide and something is gonna suffer.

Spaceboy, I was curious what kind of footprint your plants are in, what size pots your using and the spacing from the bulb. Considering a vert side by side with my blockbuster in a horizontal position. Thanks.

Hi Desert, thanks for chiming in. When you say wide at the top do you mean wide as in bushy or as in actual width of the plant to the footprint of the light? Thanks

Hi Zen, sorry for the slow reply. For a footprint I'm using two 600's about 5 feet away from each other. Ive got about 5-6 plants around each one, which to me looks to be too many. I think I may have better luck just running 3.5 plants per light with one being a large tree in between the two. Looks to be getting a little crowded right now, I'll try to get some pics up tonight for you.

Spaceboy, Sounds like your definitely in a tight space square footage wise for 5-6 plants around your sixes. A couple pics would be cool to check out. I'm considering putting 4-6 plants around a vertical 600 on one half of a 3x6 tray and think I'll be pretty snug. Cheers.
