Early Spring Flowering 34N Latitude

I'm wondering if anyone has any information on when to start seedlings indoors in my specific region (SE 34N Lat.) I'm getting different info from various sites and have yet to gain an understanding of what would be the best course of action. I think that this thread title would help a lot of people with their research, as I couldn't find very specific information when I typed in 34N Latitude.

Strain: Serious 6 and Critical Jack (bred for short flowering times)
Area: Outdoor
Last Frost: April 20th

Hours of Daylight April 20th = 13:11 (+1 twilight etc.?)
Hours of Daylight May 20th = 14:01 (+1?)
Hours of Daylight June 20th = 14:24 (+1?)
Hours of Daylight July 20th = 14:05 (+1?)
Hours of Daylight Aug 20th = 13:15 (+1?)

I saw a thread which had the advice of a grower in this state, and he said to start seeds indoors on the first of March! This would mean nearly a two month veg indoors before putting out April the 20th. Seems to me that this would cause flowering. I do want some monsters, but I think that this can still be achieved with less risk of early flowering of an older plant. I have heard people say that they veg under the same amount of light as they will be putting it out into once the season starts, but when I contacted the breeder (Dutch) he said that it should be under 18 hours of light from the start because otherwise it would not be good for the plants overall growth and development. He said it would be fine to veg indoors under 18 hours of light and then throw it out around the end of April, all while also telling me that it has a hair trigger flower..lol. He said in Holland they put it out at the end of May. In his area at the end of April, they have just shy of 14:52 (+1) hours light! So I don't think I need to take that advice if I plan to veg indoors.

If anyone has experience with outdoor in this area I would greatly appreciate the help. I can't afford to loose a crop to re-veg with the prices of genetics being what they are in this draconian hell hole. HELP!!!!

and be done in sept!

Thanks man. I really appreciate it. I'm kind of scared that the thing might get out of control no matter what I do if everything "goes well" lol. Five months of veg! Holy shit..

We have tobacco worms pretty bad where I'm at. I can see that being a challenge all by itself. I'll have to keep it sprayed down something serious and I'll still most likely have to hunt for them anyway.

But then they go from 18/6 to 13/11-14/10 or so? Wouldn't that trigger flowering with a lot of strains?
I only vegged before putting them out once and I used a 12 on, 5.5 off, 1 on, 5.5 off timing, didn't get any signs of flowering when placed outside but as I've said, only tried this once.

Also would it be that bad if the plant starts flowering and then reveg? I think that's a proven way to generate lots of budsites, as there are much more internodes formed which grow into branches when revegging... I dunno

Also, prepare for stupidly big plants.

this might not be something that ur looking to do, but you can force flower plants by flowering em indoors for 4-5 weeks and then transfer them outside and they will continue to flower.

you could also do a hoop house outdoors to allow u to put plants outside earlier and there is a decent chance that they would give u a spring harvest


i am no means an expert at your latitude tho, so i will wait for others from down south to chime in

I'm a little north of 32, but in my experience they will drop into flower if the plant has reached internodal growth and the daylight hours are less than about 13.5. Seedlings are more resistant and usually don't respond to the change.

Initially, I thought it was awful, but it has worked to my advantage. Toss clones out in Feb-Mar and flower em for additional smoke, then toss seedlings out in mid-late April and big bushes at the end of the season.
