I do not know whether these trials equal or surpass those of the Buddha.
Nagarjuna, Vasubandhu, T'ien-t'ai, and Dengyo, however, cannot compare with me
in what they suffered. Had it not been for the advent of Nichiren in the Latter
Day of the Law, the Buddha would have been a teller of great lies, and the
testimony given by Many Treasures and by the Buddhas of the ten directions would
have been false. In the 2,230 and more years since the Buddha's passing,
Nichiren is the only person in the entire land of Jambudvipa who has fulfilled
the Buddha's work.

At first only Nichiren chanted Nam-myoho-renge-kyo, but then two, three, and a
hundred followed, chanting and teaching others. Propagation will unfold this way
in the future as well. Does this not signify "emerging from the earth"? At the
time when the Law has spread far and wide, the entire Japanese nation will chant
Nam-myoho-renge-kyo, as surely as an arrow aimed at the earth cannot miss the
target.

Never be shaken, no matter what happens or what others may say. Never be
flustered; never lose confidence. This is the way we should strive to live our
lives. Being able to do so is a sign of genuine character.

Let's do our utmost to inspire those facing hard times to have courage.
When one person stands up and does so
two, then three and more will certainly follow.

There are many ups and downs in life that we need to traverse! Obstacles are opportunities to use our practice and win. Quite often we read that this Buddhism is about Winning or Losing. My heart is flush with joy that I have to overcome challenges and expand my capabilities. The more I have advanced in my practice the more difficult it is to protect everyone we introduce through our daimoku, but it is imperative that we do so. Respect for oneself is respect for all mankind. Continue to advance in your daimoku, even if its just one chant or a minute's worth! All your daimoku amounts to boku treasures of the heart.

I'm also saying this to myself since I constantly read this thread and the original version. The spirit of winning for the sake of kosen-rufu is what I'm getting at today. As I face more daunting obstacles I realize their relative worth in helping me go forward in living in my Bodhisattva and Buddha qualitative and personal aspects more consistently! Not only have I become a better person at living a happier life and helping others enable others to do the same, but I am more consistent in protecting those I've introduced to the SGI through daimoku. Never let a brand or organization get in your way and keep working with SGI members throughout the world to obtain your own Gohonzon (free from Priests and other onerous authoritarian entities). This Buddhism of the Sun is for all mankind and warm enough to illuminate every world in the in universe.

As critically ridiculous as obstacles may get, never lose your faith my amigos. Hit me up if you need support, lets keep making these non-stop causes for victory. Let's keep supporting our friends, family and community to the fullest! Let's advance our causes to live another lifetime of doubt free faith in the Gohonzon, as exemplified for all mankind by Nichiren Daishonin. We are the Bodhisattvas of the Earth entrusted with this very mission! Stand up today and continue to walk in your version of our respective paths towards expanding worldwide kosen-rufu! THANK YOU! :thank you:

Hello all, or am I really saying hello to myself since there is truly only one of us here?

I often wondered if I was truly alone on these boards, where everyone else devotes themselves to growing. But I see there are others, others who seek enlightenment by experiencing life through the gifts of nature that was given to us. Or am I still in a dream?

BOG-- do you think there would be a problem getting your seeds from seedboutique in my area?

Blessings

Wishing you the best in your life! Thanks for posting on this thread and keep on keeping on! We have many great resources peppered throughout each page of this thread and the former thread (accessible via the link in my signature).

Nam-myoho-renge-kyo! Say it and thrive! Please be happy :)

A good believer is one who does not depend upon persons of eminence or despise
those of humble station; who does not rely on the backing of superiors or look
down on inferiors; who, not relying upon the opinions of others, upholds the
Lotus Sutra among all the sutra. Such a person the Buddha has called the best of
all people.

Faith in this sutra means that you will surely attain Buddhahood if you are true
to the entirety of the Lotus Sutra, adhering exactly to its teachings without
adding any of your own ideas or following the arbitrary interpretations of
others.

Faith is perseverance. The key to victory in any struggle in life is
persistence. That is why Nichiren Daishonin stresses the importance of having
faith that flows ceaselessly like water rather than faith that flares up briefly
like fire. To advance continuously, it is important never to become exhausted.
Carrying out activities until late at night does not equate with strong faith.

No Fear...do as you wish but never say, "poor me".

I read a book while in the hospital twenty years back when I had my quad bypass.

My sister sent it to me and it was written by a heart surgeon. Entitled, "Smile or I'll Kick Your Bed".

This doctor told this to a guy in traction who was being negative. The thread was real and it would be painful but it is a Doctors job to encourage recovery.

My mother loved to tell me to "count your blessings"... ;)

Even as a kid I realized how lucky I have always been. She was so right. Bog

Keep chanting for Gypsy my brethren...

The Daishonin states,
"Not once have I thought of retreat."*
It is by our continuos efforts to traverse the waves of hardships
that we significantly revolutionise our lives.
Let's all live out our lives to the very last moment
by fulfilling the vow that we ourselves have made!
