whats complicated? it's one of the most easy to read legal documents i ever saw. people that say it's complicated actually mean it's outdated, or even it's wrong, they just say it's complicated because it's hard to twist the straight forward language into the opposite of what was said. the constitution is some how only complicated when you get in to office, before that you understand it just like 90% of the common people understand the words. but once you get the magic hat of office, lo and behold up is down and down is up, good is bad and so on. it's quite funny in a tragic way.

but seriously show me the complicated bits of the constitution. compared to modern laws it's written like a childrens book.

Congress has been fucking us and countries abroad for a LONG< LONG time. Great story. I was driving back on a road trip with friends after enjoying an amazing game 5 baseball playoff finally. The car was filled with 3 other guys, I asked them if the government was still shut down. They all 3 replied that they didn't know. I asked them if the shut down is having ANY impact on them. They all didn't know or care.

Even with the government shutdown CHP pigs were in full force and Sheriff pigs were also on the road.

As for the game itself it was the first time EVER in my life having to walk through full size metal detectors to enter a stadium. TSA in waiting to come to a concert and sporting event near you.

FUCK the government, keep the doors shut until these bastards are arrested like the truckers know is right.

We drove under a banner talking about shutting down the government on a US Interstate Highway, that is what brought me to ask a group of self-sufficient people about how the shutdown effected their self sufficiency. Seems government doesn't matter much if you try to be self-sufficient.

If you think that this is the current focus of the EPA, then you've missed out on the improvements to the agency under this administration. They even (like apparently every other federal agency these days) have their own SWAT team. It was pretty entertaining to find that, during this current government shutdown, 6.6% of the EPA workforce was considered essential. Honesty in marketing.

nah, it's definitely the politicians who lie and promise to follow the law, as well as a whole bunch of other promises, then turn round and do the bidding of the highest bidder, that suck big time! the people are not really given much choice, 9 times out of 10 the choice is between bad and worse.

Carlin is a very funny guy, his style of shocking statement based humor is effective. but his arguments about not voting, hold very little water if you were to debate them in a non comedy context.

you'd think that it's the same people voting and being voted for, but some how the most powerful ones all seem to have gone to the same schools and universities, they know the same circles of people, many of them are related to each other distantly. specially presidents all seem to be related.

your average Joe is not interested in politics unless he feels things are so fucked that he has to try, but those are the minority. mostly the ones going into politics do so because they are greedy ambitious and power hungry. it's an inherent flaw in the system. power attracts ruthless power hungry types, but it's worse, because power also corrupts, so if you start out power hungry and corrupt you will be a ruthless gangster when you get the power of office.
