This thread might help give you some ideas

build base for where its gona hang with 2x4s or whatever attached to studs. after thats done buy a pulley and attach to base of where your gona hang it. the pulley works with rope so make sure that you attach a secure handle a 5 feet away where you can knot th rope and stop before you hit the pulley. you need the base of the structure to have 4 hooks one in each corner with motorcycle straps so as yo have one loop on each side. so you raise the carbonfilter by attaching the rope to the carbon scruber , not just in the middle but make something so that it lifts evenly up. like rope around it on one side then the other and a rope that attaches both of them down the center where you can attach the rope for the pulley. so now you got the motorcyle straps hangin about 4 feet down and your raising the scrubber slowly. go about a few inches above the bottom part of the strap and knot the pulley rope on your stop handle few feet away. now wrap the motorcycle straps underneath the carbon filter on both sides and shorten them up as to support some of the weight of the filter. now move the filter up slowlye with the pulley rope and keep tighting the motorccycle straps for support until there little room to take the pulley out. probably about a foot. so now you got the pulley out and rope out all that should be left is the motorcycle straps on each end. tighten each side inch at a time so as to not let it fall out one end all the way to where you want it. you dont have to pull it all the way up if you dont wantas the motorcycle straps are super safe.

I guess I'm lucky dan. I have this in the basement, and its only about 10 feet from where I think i would run it up to the attic. Then Id drop it into the grow room.

Heres where some stuff goes upstairs. You cant tell in the pic, but theres some cables and wires going up there too.

My first choice is gonna be to try and either find an electrician to install a 20 amp circuit box in the grow room, using those 2 open slots. Hell, i think there's 3 open slots, i might as well use them all. Or if it sounds uncomplicated enough, I might try to do that myself. If I cant find a good choice for an electrician that is. And then if I cant do either of those 2 things, Im pretty sure I would be alright using a GOOd extension cord, plugged into that basement outlet, and up to the grow room.

And I took a look at my washer/dryer outlet. It looks like just a regular outlet to me. But whatda I know. Not that it matters. Im not planning on using it in any scenario, anyways.
pappy run the wire your self it not that hard, just make sure the power if OFF when your doing that conection.

Yeah i was just cheacking out the route im gonna run the romex wire up from the basement.
It actually looks like that part wont be hard. I havent done an exact measurement yet, but i think its about a 70-80 foot distance. Not too bad at all. I was thinkin it was gonna be more.
Anyways, Dan the frakin man is gonna help me out big time. God I love Icmag. I know i say it a lot, but this place means a lot to me. Some really good peoples here :tiphat:

pappy we all had these questions at one point or another....as unbelievable as it may seem when i started here i was a too shy to post wet behind the ears noob...and now im one of the legions of average growers on the site! lol
you know,we're stronger together than we are apart, the more info and experiences we share in places like this....and once again,a big thanks to gypsy for starting this for us all, stay strong brother!....the better off we all are...

and theres no dumb questions, only dumb answers.....you may get several answers to any particular question here, and as i have said in the past, the real key to using this site effectively is figuring out how it all apples to your garden situation...attempting to slavishly follow someone elses regime are almost certainly doomed to failure, every garden is unique...you will note that basically none of us follow the exact same nute regimes or mediums or styles of growing, everyone has to find their own path to garden success, theres no one method that blanket fits everyones needs...

pappy, see if you have an electrical supply house to get your wire. MUCH better prices than you will find at a big box store.

I don't know if they all deal with the public but the one by me does and the 100' of 12/2 I just bought was almost half of what Lowes wanted.

i know you guys have been waiting eagerly to see the latest addition to the cactus collection:biggrin::tumbleweed:

the common name is a fishhook barrel cactus for fairly obvious reasons, its part of the ferrocactus family...these are fairly common in some of the nearby areas often achieving massive size for a desert plant,i have seen some in the 6-8 feet tall range and bigger around than i could wrap my arms with...of course you would be insane to do that since they are fiercely spined and would seriously fuck you up...

this one is about 12 inches tall and about 18 across...

WOW Unc, shes pretty!!! Love the crush rock you use around them.

How often do you water your cacti garden? Or do you just let the rain do it?

Mind me asking yah what one of those runs? ROM?

Cheers dood!

Remember this she-lah?

This one is about 8 inches tall. Its in a very shady spot within the orchard. It gets very little light whatsoever. But look at it...

Its LAX3. I found it just over a year ago. Real nice flavor, good potency, and top shelf high.

Third- great suggestion. I think there is too. Ill look into it. But why do you want the 12/2? I thought the second number meant the number of prongs on the plug? That was my assumption at least. I could easily be wrong.

Dans- Is the stuff i want called just Romex 12 gauge right? or is there a second number involved?

i think im retarded:wtf:

NEVERMIND- I went back and read what you told me dan. 12/3 is what i want. whooops
I guess i dont know what that second number means. Cause I thought the stuff i want, doesn't have a plug on it.

Hey doc, That looks gorgeous!:yummy: You know there's this guy called the Rev, and he writes about organic growing and stuff, and he says the the highest quality pot is not actually full-sun grown bud. He says the highest, highest quality possible is bud grown under those (I cant think of what theyre called) plank things. You now, they're just basically 2" x 4" in rows. I think they might use them for growing wine maybe (but for different reasons, I think they let the grape vines grow on them, but i could be confused about that part.). Those type things. Dammit, i cant think of how to say it. Anyways, they stripe the plants with shade. The Rev used shade grown coffee as a example. He said (partial) shade grown coffee is the best quality possible. And he admitted that you will obviously lose some yield. But ill take quality over quantity everyday. Well, i guess thats easy foe me to say though, Cause i smoke all my bud anyways:smoke:

12/3 romex pappy !!! it has 4 wires in it ...... a white a black a red & a bare copper wire . Pappy if there is a supply house near you .... get all those parts i linked to ya there ... it'll be ALOT cheaper !!!

when marketing the stuff they don't count the ground wire . 12/2 has 3 wires 12/3 has 4 wires .
