I have 4 seeds (2x OG Kush 2 x White Widow x big Bud) germinated and planted in 4 pots seedling soil. Planted yesterday. I am giving 18/6 light/dark. I currently have these light bulbs, only one as yet sitting about 5" away from the soil.
Are they the correct bulbs and how many do I need for 4 seedlings ?. I jave seen photos of 4 or 5 bulbs attatched together sitting over the seedlings, How is this achieved ? what do you need to connect so many bulbs together ?
During the flowering stage I use HPS 600 12/12 but what do I do for the Veg stage ?
I have two pots in a propagater but not the other two, which is best ?

Try to use "Daylight" CFLs with a high color spectrum number like 6500 K (I see you have this). You can get a bulb quite close to a seedling if you want to keep it short with a thick stout stem. With four seedlings in plastic beer cups you could use one bulb over the lot to start. The 23 watt (100 watt equivalent) are supposedly the most efficient, and cost the least compared to higher wattages.

These Y sockets are the ticket for the multi bulb set up you mention. They're about $3 in the states. Screw three of these together to hang four 23 watt bulbs as a unit.

edit; I see that you have a different bulb base (B22) than the standard threaded screw in socket used in these Y sockets. You might need to explore different options.

For veg you can use your 600w ballast and shade with a metal halide bulb instead of the hps.

I'd wait a few weeks before you stick them under so much light and heat yet.

More info, Man. Like Willy says, what medium are you using? Temps? Humidity? Pot size? A pic says a 1000 words in situations like this so have another go...
