You may be right. They are supposedly 600 of Hps and 400 of MH, so you do sacrifice some of your HPS. But its definitely both kinds of light, thats for sure. I was thinkin of going back to straight HPS next time I need to buy a bulb. I think I yielded more with straight HPS. But the trichome production is optimal under dual spectrum in my humble opinion and experience, and since I only had one light, it was really my only way too do that. And I do like them a lot for the warranty thing too. The bulbs end up only costing me around $77 a piece if I avg it out. Last year I traded it out twice, so I got 3 total, for the price of one. $230/3=$77. But I dont like taking them back like that really. Even if the owner told me he doesnt care. He gets reimbursed from the supplier.

Anywho...

So i order the PowerPak 600. (im stubborn.) I did some more research, and just like Doc and Dan said, the 300 isnt really 300 watts. Apparently, the 600 delivers 480 actual watts. If my math is correct, it should be enough for a while. And I have a feeling it'll come in handy these next 2 months. Plus, i wanna get it for other reasons.

[Next Rant]:
I swear, if I didnt own this house, Id prolly be looking to move. This water thing is getting ridiculous. O yeah, im 95% sure that I DONT have Root aphids.:woohoo: But unfortunately the problem I do have is almost worse:wallbash:, because its competely outta my control. (I thought it was RA's because the symptoms I have are the exact same.) I mean, of course I can control whether i use the water. For the past few weeks I have been using $1 a gallon distilled, and its getting pretty pricey. And I have ordered new replacement filters for my R/O unit. But I'm scared that my shit water is just gonna ruin them instantly again. And obviously I dont wanna keep paying for bottled water forever. Ive already prolly spent $50 or so in the past few weeks. And I dont wanna have to keep replacing R/O filters. Damn.
So I called again today. And i had an environmental lawyer friend of mine call last week. Not that any of that means shit to them.

But I sure do hope they fix it soon.

This is straight from the tap. What my young kids have to bath in:(

For some reason I thought a 3 stage R/O was like God or somethin. Like it could handle anything. I think ill need at least a 4 stage. What you guys think?

I think you need a prefilter before the RO to catch most of that sediment !!!! get a small boy inline before the RO unit & you'll be in good shape .

Hey WL ... glad ya finally stopped in to say hello :)
like unc said & i just said in the PM ... add a 6" intake fan on a speed contreoller & dial in your temps . draw air from the AC side of the room or better yet from an outside window .

:yeahthats

Occam's Razor-style-troubleshooting once more. :good:

I imagine that water is putting a serious strain on those RO filters - the inline prefilter gimmick should take a load off of the RO..

Has your RO been running slow as heck lately?

yup,i run my water through a tall boy 2 stage filter before it gets to the ro unit which is 3 stage, been well over a year and not a problem so far, indeed i have yet to replace a single filter and our water sucks out here...

and this is the power panel i was talking about,30 amps, plugs right into the dryer outlet.works with an internal contractor circuit, until that physical switch is activated, and it makes a big "clunk!" sound when the timer goes off, theres no power to the panel.the load on the timer is minimal since all its doing is opening and closing one single circuit.

sheesh, enough of this growing nonsense,im just doing that to support my riding habit:biggrin:

i was cleaning up and organizing the workshop space and putting up hooks and such for bikes and wheels...i only have 2 working bikes and yet i had like 6 sets of wheels total in the house...im brutal on bike wheels...the disc brakes should help with that since i was just plain wearing through the rims before...brake pads plus sand equals worn out rims....not to mention a collection of worn out.blown carcass, knobs gone tires....all gone now...

oops...sailing off on a bike tangent here...

anyway, this is what the camping gear looks like packed and unpacked..to some degree, didnt want to unpack all the widget bags as well...

but we have..
north face roadrunner2 2 man tent
ridgerest pad full size
crazy creek chair
big agnes 15 degree down bag
big agnes insulated ground pad
camp pillow
spare bike tire
spare trailer tire and inner tube
6 liter msr dromedary water bag
2x 1 liter water bladders
msr pocket rocket stove and fuel canister plus canister stand
msr cookset plus heat exchanger
french press coffee maker
1 liter pot plus lid
utensils (spork,knife,etc)
5x7 tarp
camp towel and sundries( tp,toothpaste,soap...)

going to be adding a set of front panniers to the bike for clothes and such

I went through the same thing with my water recently cuz i've got the old galvanised pipes here . what i did was take my old 6 stage RO unit apart . i took off the DI filters , unhooked the RO filter & put new filters in the 3 sediment filters on the bottom . i ran my water line to the 3 sediment filters first then to my 6 stage RO/DI unt . which now gives me 9 stages of filtration :)

alright, time for some civ5....smart people who make these games, they let the users have access to the code and let them do all the work of digging the bugs out and generating new game elements, plus they continually tweak the AI that runs the game and the last upgrade is a bitch to beat...like i said, smart folks, previous incarnations of the game were far easier to come up with a strategy that would win every time...now,not so much...

yeah yeah,i gotta get the flower room to agree to the notion of me being gone overnight, and i did just stupidly start seedlings and take cuts so gotta keep it in its proper place...
and im still looking for a good campspot i can get to quickly, something in the 10 miles away range that i could ride to after i take care of the plants at night and just sleep out under the stars and come back in the morning....and the other problem is im not hugely motivated at 9 at night to hop on a bike, ride out to the desert and get set up in the dark...pretty soon though the timer will be on at 8 instead and it will be easier to get out then...and by then there will be all big plants in flower, easy enough to dump 5 gallons into a 45 gallon pot and call her good for 2 days...

The only thing that i haven't figured out yet ..... is where i'm going to hang & dry all this good weed i'm going to be growing !!!! i left myself NO ROOM !!! i think i can use the 4 x 4 veg room most of the time as long as the plants that are in it go right into flower as I harvest .

The best advice I can give, is, go back a couple pages or so and look at Dans set-up. You want it to look just like that. A Space Schuttle . Ok Im smoking HB over here

Ohh mr. dan and I have exchanged PMs a few times throughout the months....hes definitely helped me out getting everything setup.

Just got off the phone with my buddy and apparently the temp gauge he had right by the damn Papillon light so of course it was gonna read in the high 80s. Hes moved it out of the direct light of the Papillon and its hovering around 82-84...without any osc. fans running. With a little bit of tweaking, im pretty certain i can get it down in to 80

Welcome thewhitelotus, make yourself at home.

Got a bit of work done today in the barn, insulating and framing and attic ladder mounted.

Final numbers in. 10,10,12,14=46. Not bad.
