maybe they dont know about the printing that changes color. take that shit back and tell them so they cant play any games with you...

dan dont you use 2 of the king cloners as well? I agree they all work some better then others. for me my cloners have done the best at putting out 100% of what ever I put in.

yup , just started using them . can't really give a good percentage rate on them yet cuz of the killer spray i used !!! but i still had probably 75% of them live while every other plant in the house died except for 1 .

Doc ya old perv ... leave them children alone !!!
lol 25 years his younger would make her around 40

 40 or not .... shes still a child compared to Doc !!!

First off, i dont mean to sound all sappy, but i really really appreciate the advice from everyone. Im really pissed that this is happening right now. Its been one thing after another around here with the utilities .
O yeah, and it couldnt have happened at a worse time, i just cloned EVERY mother i have and killed/tossed the plants. ALSO, I just started a second attempt to root some Gorrila Glue4. I just put 4 cuts in the aerocloner along side my 13 others. So ill do whatever i can to try and improve my odds.

those things are meant as an emergency power source for computers mainly, just to give you enough time to save data and shut down,i dont think they really last for that long, probably minutes i think...pappy,just get something like an underbed sweater tote and fill it with water on those days and just float em during the work hours, not going to hurt them at all...

The reviews i read( on the website selling them, so could be fake) said that it can run a fair amount of stuff, and still has a 50% charge left after 12 hours. But who knows if thats true.
And that idea about floating them in the tote is a great one, but like i said, i wanna keep my odds of getting roots as high as possible.
Hi Pappy,
You should be able to check the wattage of your aerocloner pump by looking at the pump itself.
How long does it last at the chosen wattage?
do amps make a big difference here?
GL,
BeL
Hey brother. Yeah, thats a good idea, im sure itll say something on there. Im not sure if itll say the watts though, prolly just the amps. And i have know idea how that translates. But im definitely gonna check it out.

Gotta agree with the wisdom. Clone without power for a while.

I know I've been playing with aero lately but I get 99% with regular methods.

RR's on a wicking mat, coco with a relatively dry moisture content, rockwoool, water...

Point being, if given a good healthy top you should be able to get roots no matter the tech used.

Yea i definitely would have tried another method under different circumstances.
I run an Inverter too. real nice and quiet, with electric start and a hand pull back up. at 700watts it will run 20 hours. It last along time even at full power though, (Close to 300watts). Great investment for any serious grower. View Image

Doc, that looks like a gas powered invertor, is that correct?

I use to run my laptop off a power inverter 12v -120v when the power went out. I only used it at night to watch movies on. this will work for anything running 120v. The bigger the inverter the more it will run but use up the battery faster. Prices range from 125$-700$ for 1500w.

One like this would run my laptop for about 6-8hrs of constant use befeore the battery needs charging. The more things you can turn off like screen britness the longer it will run. This unit is digital 80$ for 1500w
http://www.zorotools.com/g/Inverters%20-%20SCHUMACHER/00098628/

Bare with me, i dont know anything about this stuff. While these power inverters are less expensive than the Duracell Powerpaks, Im under the impression that these inverters need a 12 volt DC charge to run on. I dont know what that is exactly? And the bigger inverters like Doc posted look like they need gas to run on. I dont want/need that. So unless i figure out what the hell a 12 volt DC charge means, it think im gonna get the Powerpak. Those just need charged up, and can be taken anywhere. The inverters dont have stored power, they just run of an alternate source, and converted it to AC, is that correct?

Again, thanks everyone for your input. All great ideas

So dan, if i do get a powerpak, what do you think i would need to run a ez cloner and 50 watt t5? 300 or 600 watts?

never seen or heard of one .... you got a link for me to look at ? but to be completely honest .... anything that has to be charged before running it .... isn;'t going to last long , especially running a motor (pump ) . if you want to run the pump in the cloner .... a generator like Doc's is your only real solution . sorry :)
anything with an electric motor or heating element eats up power FAST !!!

If you decide on a generator to run a few things while the power is out I can walk ya through back feeding your main panel through a garage or outside outlet to feed the panel to run a few nesescitys like the fridge , furnace & your cloner .

I use a 450 watt sign wave converter hooked to a big deep cycle battery that gets charged before every trip , in my camper for 110 volt things & if a fan or coffee pot is plugged into it , it only lasts about a day . but if we only plug in the mini dvd or laptop .... it will last a few days .

pappy, the simplest solution to a problem is generally the one that has the best chance of working...you're over-thinking this and stressing for no reason...serious, a few hours of floating in water wont harm clones, get a little battery powered camping lantern or something to provide light...keep it simple, plants are way tougher than you think...i wilted the crap out of some cuttings last week and just filled the cup back up with water and they were fine within an hour...

hey guys! thought id join the party after reading through the thread! I am also in the process of setting up a new room, however, more of a smaller test run to get a friend of mine's feet wet.

The new setup consists of a 8x4x7 tent(flowering area is 4x4), Papillon 1000W fixture, can 75 scrubber, 753CFM 8" fan, and a couple osc. fans...passive intake. The tent resides in a 10x12 room which has central air/heat.

I currently have the AC set to 72 and when running the light and having 3 of the passive intakes going my temps are still in the high 80s. The exhaust is moving some serious air and i can visually see the negative pressure from the tent sucking in. What am i missing? Should i just pony up and get a portable AC?

thanks guys! appreciate all the info and the humor!

no....crazy idea,i checked my facts before i made a ruckus, there was a hortilux poster in the shop with the paint color before and after and it was clear to me when i saw that the bulb was probably fine....i just recently had a bulb blow up on me so i may be a bit trigger shy with them right now,,,under different circumstances it could have easily started a fire and i try to be hyper aware of grow room safety...plus i have a mild electricity phobia so i really dont mess with that stuff, you simply cant be too safe with this equipment...

Unc, have you ever thought about trying these kind out vvvvvv

picture.php

They're kind of expensive, but they have a ONe year warranty. So I always end up getting at least 2 bulbs for the price of one. When you buy the bulb, they sign and date the box, and you get as many bulbs as you want basically within that year. At least if your kindof tight with the grow shop. (Even if your not, if you just say the bulb is flickering occasionally, they will give you a new one. Thats what the owner of my grow shop told me to say, at least.) Whenever I need a new one, (I switch it every 2 runs), I just take it back and they give me a new one. Im not sure why more people dont use these yet

hmmm,im gonna say snake oil on that,i suppose it fills a niche roll but in the long run you would be better off with a regular hps or halide bulb is my feeling,i have no evidence to support that aside from occam's razor...when you try and make something do two things at once when it was designed to do one thing then you end up with a net loss in performance from both elements...with that kind of stuff this site is invaluable since if they really worked everyone would be using them, look at the reflectix thing,2 years ago almost no one had it on their walls, now its becoming common...same thing with the gavita lamps....maybe its just a passing trend but i know they use gavita by the thousands in commercial nurseries, theres a good reason for it...
