I got one Green House Seeds KALASHNIKOVA at 4 weeks into flowering. It's doing well and is starting to produce trichomes, now that night temperatures are down to 60 degrees. It really likes the bat guano and blackstrap molasses that it gets once a week.

Here are pictures from week 3 :

Yeah +1 to that. Looking very healthy mate. Post some more pics when she starts getting real frosty. Haven't seen this strain outdoors before I don't think.

Greenhouse seeds has a fine line of seeds, no doubt. Grew some Kali mist from them a while back, and it was superb. I was wondering, RoryBorealis, whether your Kalashnikova is the same as the Greenhouse breed known as AK47. Either way, it is coming along fine. Sure wish I could get my hands on bat guano to feed my grow. That stuff is supposed to be like steroids for plants.

Kalashnikova is a cross between White Widow from Green House and AK-47 from Simon at Serious Seeds. Blackstrap molasses and bat guano together makes certain strains very happy. This strain is one of them.

New Sight and Smells

New Sight and Smells

Kalashnikova is now in week 7 of the flowering cycle. It now has even darker green foliage than before, and a lemon/mineral spirits scent. The buds are becoming more firm and dense. The resin has increased, but different from my other plants. The trichomes appear to be smaller than the trichomes on my other plants that have similar genetics. I will post pictures later this week.

Week 8 Begins

Week 8 Begins

Today is the start of week 8. The scent has a new grape and honey characteristics. Trichomes are 10% amber, 60% cloudy and 30% clear. All of the buds and nuggets are rock hard and the calyxes are swelling. I began feeding it water only 5 days ago, I will continue with water only until harvest next week.

Harvest Day - Week 9 - Flower Day 64

Harvest Day - Week 9 - Flower Day 64

I woke up in the middle of the night to prepare for the journey to the garden. I arrived 1 hour before sunrise to chop the plant down while still dark. Upon arriving at the garden, I was greeted with the strongest scent that KALASHNIKOVA has put out thus far. Citrus and sour grape aromas welcomed me, 5 feet from the plant. A very large smile grew across my face, the same type of smile you get when you go home and your lover is waiting on you-staring at you with that 'Let's Get It On' look in her eyes.

I inspected the buds and main cola. Rock hard and very resinous. Just the right amount of stickiness. I manicured the main fan leaves and a few of the smaller secondary foliage. I experienced a moment a great satisfaction, partly because there are very few outdoor examples of KALASHNIKOVA, and now I can share this info with all of you out there. To all my friends living in a temperate climate, YES - you can grow KALASHNIKOVA outdoors in your area. :good:

I will post more pictures soon. After a good drying and curing, I will also post a detailed smoke report.

Manicuring and trimming

Manicuring and trimming

I unpacked the ganja from transport and within 3 mintues a strong citrus aroma consumed the enitre room where my workspace is located. While manicuring KALASHNIKOVA, I stopped and smelled my fingers. A slight honeydew aroma similar to Paradise Seeds NEBULA was present. NEBULA and KALASHNIKOVA both share Afghani/White Widow ancestry. The citrus - sour grape aroma carried the farthest. After the manicuring and trimming, I was rewarded with a large pile of fan and secondary leaves that I can now use to make ganja butter.

I finished trimming and washed my hands, sat down and began to ponder the KALASHNIKOVA grow experience. A mellow contact high started to creep in from rubbing my hands across the trim leaves while manicuring. I smiled and then got up to cook dinner.

It feels good to start something like this and get satisfying results. Now the drying begins.

4 ounces. I still have some in the stash, now. KALASHNIKOVA has been my back up stash, and it performs well in that way, as well as cooking it in food.
