Can someone help me figure out how many amps this main has?

I am looking into moving into a bigger house, but I want to make sure that it has at least 200 amps. What's confusing me is that the main switch on the CB has two switches that are attached, and they each say 100. Does this mean its a 100amp or 200 amp main? I have included a picture.

hmm there shouldn't be water stains, because it is inside of the garage. are you pretty sure that it's 200 amps? because if i sign a lease for the place and it ends up being 100 amps im really kind of fucked. I really appreciate your help by the way.

Opps, I was way wrong, it's a 100 amp main in a 150 amp can.

100amp... Not to mention you'd have to special order breakers... Federals have also proven to not be 100% safe. Look for something more modern, or at least common, f you're going to be running circuits IMO.

Thank you all for your help! So far with this house hunt I have found that when a place is too good to be true it usually is. This proves that theory once again...

I agree, and with what looks like some kind of water staining, I would bet that there is some pretty good corrosion going on in there.Old special order breakers and corrosion sound like a recipe for a burned up panel at the lest and a fire at worst.....especially with the loads that most grows would put on them.

The Main CB looks like a double or two pole 100 amp 240v breaker. A single pole breaker is supplied from 1 line only whereas a double breaker is supplied from 2 lines if installed properly. Single pole CB's are typically 120v.

You could possibly replace the 100 amp CB with a 200 amp CB, if the panel is rated correctly. The rating should be listed on the panel.

Posting to the electrical section might help you get a full answer from a pro?

Hope this helps a little.

i would mess with that panel. its got moisture damage and it has stab lock connection which I find not very safe.
