Buds 400W Multi-Strain Soil Grow

The drying nets work fine. The larger cola's will end up having one flat side from laying on the net but as long as this isn't an issue with you then they are much easier than hanging each branch. The smaller buds tend to not get flat due to the fact they are lighter in weight. If the flat side of a cola bothers you then you could just place the smaller buds on the net and hang the large cola's separate.

I hung the buds my first three harvests but once I tried using a net I never looked back. After a few hours of trimming I was not looking forward to an hour or two of hanging the buds. It is so much easier to just drop them on a net.

Here are some shots of the dried and cured bud. I wish I was better at taking photo's.

Going to try to keep this perpetual cycle going. :dance013:

So I was out of town for 2 days this week and when I got back I found that my NexGen 400W ballast was not ON and had a red light blinking on it. After looking into the problem I have confirmed this ballast is dead. It is only 8 months old....

The good news is that I went to the local grow store to purchase a new Lumatek ballast since I need one now and I have not had issues with my other Lumatek and the people that own the place were nice enough to loan me one of their own NexGen 400W ballasts! They told me they will take care of the warranty on my old one WHEN I BRING IT IN! I didn't even give them my old ballast yet and they just let me walk out with a working one, NO CHARGE! This is the reason I go to small mom and pop stores, they will go out of their way to help customers out because they know it keeps us coming back.

Anyway, I will be installing this ballast later and taking some more pictures of the girls. I will update after the long weekend.

Lighting Problem and new pics

So the ballast wasn't the problem. Apparently my HPS bulb went bad and caused the ballast to show "fault". I didn't find this out until I bought a new ballast, so now I have two new Lumatek ballasts at least. I replaced the HPS bulb and everything is back on track. Now I have a spare 400W ballast!

I FIM'd some of the Vegging girls over the weekend, they need to start shooting off some more branches so I can cut clones and start 12/12 soon.

The Hydro plant (Double Berry) is about 60 days in flower now. She had the ballast/bulb problem so she was in the dark for 2-3 days. She seems to be doing ok.

The plan is to harvest the hydro plant the end of this month. The Vegging plants should start 12/12 at that time also. I should have clones cut by then to start my next generation also. Things are looking good here, I'm happy at least.

So I thought that the hydro plant was going to be cut at the end of this month but I just checked up on how many days in flower it is and it is at 65 days today. I want this one to go at least 75-80 days so tonight I'm going to empty the rez and fill with just plain water to start flushing this girl. I will try to take some pics while I'm doing this so I can give some more visuals of where my girls are at right now.

9/16 Update

9/16 Update

I never put pictures up from last week so here it goes:

The veg plants are a week or two away from clones being cut and the lights going to 12/12

Here is the Double Berry hydro plant that will be chopped in a week or so also

For my first hydro grow it looks pretty good. I'm happy so far.

I will update again after the harvest and clone cutting with more pictures and details about how everything is going.

I harvested the hydro plant over the weekend! It looks like I got around 3-4 ounces, I'm actually going to buy a scale to weight it so I can be sure.

I didn't have my camera when I harvested so any pictures I take will be post-harvest but I still have the root ball intact to show. Is anyone watching my grow anymore?

Thanks for stopping by yort, I haven't had many visitors lately and it makes me question if I'm wasting my time with the journal. I keep my own personal journals at home so this one is extra work. Taking pictures and sharing them is very fun and I want to continue doing so.

Critical Jack Review

Critical Jack Review

Critical Jack by DinaFem
Genetics = Critical Mass x Jack Herer
Looks = Very large dense colas with long pistils and a large amount of trichs
Yield = 2-3 Ounces per plant
Smell = Very spicy almost like pepper with some fruit hints
Taste = Spicy, Pepper with heavy smoke but with a sweet after taste
High = Very strong almost narcotic. Got some couch lock to it.
Length of High = around 2 hours
Overall = This strain was the best out of the 5 different strains in my last grow. They all had their pros but this one lacked any kind of cons and the smell and taste alone were far superior. This is also a decent yielder.

I found out my Double Berry genetics last night:
(Purple Urkle x Strawberry Cough) x Blueberry

The hydro plant I just harvested is the Double Berry.

Bud, I'm still watching. I know what you mean, though, about feeling like no one is watching anymore, lol. I totally feel the same way about my 1000w thread. But don't let that stop you from posting... When you start feeling that way, pay attention to the number of views your thread has gotten. When you see that number changing, it puts it all into perspective. Lots of people read these journals and just don't post in them. I'm guilty of that myself, but mostly because I use my Android for internet access, so it can be a pain in the ass.

Keep up the good work!

I still haven't gotten pictures but I promise I will take some this weekend.

My last harvest was hang drying (on a net) for 4 days and has been in a paper bag for 1 1/2 days now. I weighed the harvest last night and it was 180g. I shouldn't lose much more weight since it is mostly dry already so looks like I got around 6 Ounces off that one hydro plant! That makes me a very happy camper.

October update!

October update!

Ok I promised pictures so here we go! First off is the root ball from that hydro plant I had going. Don't mind the poor look of this since it was cut a week before I took the picture.

Next up is the full tent that is about 12 days into flower now:

Last but not least, here is my jarred Double Berry harvest! I ended up with around 6 ounces from 1 hydro plant so I was pleased with my results.

The Armoir is empty at the moment but I will be placing 2 Critical Jacks in 5 gallon Air Pots with my ScroG screen. I'm just waiting for my clones to root.

All the clones are rooted and in solo cups.

The big tent is about 30 days into flower at the moment. I will post some pictures either later this week or after the weekend.

Here is a top shot

I've also added the C02 Green Pads. I hung them low because I have a fan that is blowing air up and an out take fan on my light so if it was placed high the C02 may just get exhausted and if I placed it low at least the fan would blow it up through the leaves so the C02 would be used. I hope that makes sense, I just smoked before writing this...

I cut clones off of these girls before they went into flower. They just got transplanted into soil 2 weeks ago, still getting plain water also.

Still got another 4-5 weeks left before harvest and I'm going to start training the clones once I transplant them into 1 gallon pots. That's it for now folks!
