EBallasts have safety features in them .

My cehap apollo ballasts will just turn right back on but some times they will not turn on. They will stay off till you hear a tick inside and it lets the power thru.

Try leaving it unplugged for a short amount of time 30 minutes to 1 hour and see if it reset itself or w/e so that the power will go thru the unit.

If not you might have fried a fuse or maybe that outlet isn't working anymore?

Tons of variables. Best of luck!

That tick you mentioned no longer happens. I've tried waiting an hour ect.... yea electronic ballasts have a protection mechanism in case of power outages and such so I don't know whats happened but obviously something's fckedup...

You may have blown the fuse or something internal. Check the fuse first (unplug it before you do). If not, get the ballast replaced under warranty, or see if they can fix it for you if you're out of warranty. Otherwise you'll need a new one...

I'd unplug it and leave it to chill first, and then try plugging it in again. It may also be the bulb? I have yet to blow a ballast/HID bulb (knock on wood).

as gelado says above,,could be a fuse or bulb,,process of elimimnation,,,could need a new timer,,,walmart/bandq or homebase timers tend to blow out so you may need a grasslin [german made=best,, imho] timer or something like that,,good luck,,peace and regards 944s2:tiphat:

Highly recommend one of these timers:
http://www.lowes.com/pd_70345-251-T...arch=intermatic+t101&productId=4315787&rpp=32
One of the scariest growing moments I had, was a timer failure. I bought a Intermatic outdoor "Heavy Duty" plastic timer, rated for 1000W. It fried the contacts (Welded them together), and left a 600, and a 250w hps burning for a full day, with no cooling fan.
With a 400w light you are "Probably" ok, with a cheaper timer, but inductive loads are nothing to under estimate.
One more tip, following my own story, is to run your light cooling fan (If you use one) on the same timer/circuit as your lights. My problem would have been a little less frightening, if the timer failure had kept the cooling fan running!
Regards.

Everything but my carbon scrubber runs on one circuit, so if the timer fails, the scrubber won't!
