Short term trades in the stock market •$$$$$•

There will be a bear move sometime in the short term - it's called profit taking (or in addition maybe some bad or "not as great" news). If I were to predict when a greedy person will pocket his cash vs. trying to get even more you can ask god about that one. Even if he/she god exists would be shaking their head.

That's why I like trading programs, you can make money in bull, bear & sideways markets - either short, mid or long term. Options can be fun but I like selling them (out of the money options). Kinda like the insurance companies raking in your money betting something won't happen (home, car... insurance). They make money, why can't I?!

Well news for today is Fed didn't act @ 2pm est and like I said markets will move up nicely because of this. I'd be on this one on the close again if I wasn't already. Unless Saddam comes back from the grave or the like markets moving up w/some momentum. Profit takers may move in but not yet, can't see how it would interrupt rally. That was 1 BIG jump today though so some of it's at least been priced in already.

Note this chart will change reflecting whatever trading day it is:

Would seem good news has been priced in now for the short term. Pondering if to get out of long position.

Might even get short here but that would be quite nerve wracking. Things are overbought now I guess? Do not follow the technical stuff much, but overbought and oversold were used in the last trading system I payed for. Worked quite well.

Guessing this bull will run till end of year but may not give any more gains. Just keep the good gains it has now.

Good question. I'm not sure if 3 hours at the end of the day is long enough good reaction to that unexpected good news, unless they're all Speedy Gonzales playing musical chairs and profit taking commences tomorrow.

You can't win 'em all but like I said at least till the end of week I'm bullish. A different story if you want to take profits and are winning already. I'd stay and up my stops, but that's me. For those that doubled-up probably sitting in Bahamas right now smoking a blunt and sipping a cocktail martini or having a beer @ the beach.

I'm talking about Index Futures not Index Funds. Funds are nice for that long term stuff. And you buy them when "they're on sale" or market is down and bide your time.

Well down today. Now you know how long you have to get in even on a big move - which is NOT LONG! But if I was still in early today & running a winner, trailing stop definitely hit and got out in early or later AM.

This is where your trading program takes over from you having to want to take tranqs all day. Imagine those drinking coffee by the pot...

If they resolve current debt crisis looming markets should react positive. Good buying opportunity might even be able to be close to the bottom of dip if you get timing of the news right - if no decision by market close Monday you should be in. Looks like the low could be dragging right now and waiting for a buy (markets priced in much of bad news already and waiting). That way you can keep stops closer to get out, you're in or out at the deadline Monday night.

Not like I don't see a giant cliff looming - but that's where the market prices that in for you to make money...

Been short last 2 weeks and thinking to go long or get out, either one. These debt crisis dramas end with last minute deals and whew... business as usual. The government is never gonna stop paying itself. Never.

Have to either just get out of short or go long, hmmmm.

If you buy anytime today before a resolution in the debt crisis this could happen, should also be up tomorrow:

Your money yesem. Take profits from short you're in and go long make money both ways more potential. I would think downside mostly priced in, these guys are pretty quick to react. I'd keep a close stop, not sure if even a trading program would factor in where to put the stop (those are usually a set point or can be trailing) but a close stop you know where you should be out.

Wow, at least they have a slight shot at a debt compromise till 4 am Tuesday morning until the markets open. Those tea party nuts are a bunch of tea baggers if you ask me. Obama's right I think on this one, how could a right wing minority affect their vote like that but then again they're today's GOP. Even Gingrich is shaking his head, he went thru the last debt crisis & government shutdown - way back in 1995.

That's why a close stop you'd be out by now, can't trust a bunch of losers and I literally mean losers holding their collective bargaining breaths like a big baby. They could still have their way keeping their cuts "on the table" regarding Obamacare (what the GOP calls it it's really The National Health Care Act which they helped pass) and avoided this mess. They should all crawl back into that big black book of fairytales they all mostly believe in and leave the rest of us with common sense alone...

I don't want those clowns increasing the debt a single penny. How immoral is it of the USA to hand 17+ trillion dollars in obligations to future generations?

Hilarious I tell you. I haven't seen such good comedy since Animal House.

Can we bulldoze the White House now and turn it into a parking lot?

Shut it and burn it down I say. Time to start anew.

Those tea party nuts are a bunch of tea baggers if you ask me.
Excuse me brother, can you spare me a dime......or perhaps a tea bag?

From what I hear at least we'rte doing pretty good w/the deficit, it's down to half w/Obama in there. With Bush it was like a black check he could always write & deficit skyrocketed. With Bill Clinton we actually had a surplus for several years and national debt was going down.

Ironically if we delayed "Obamacare" 1 more year that probably would help the deficit a bit too. GOP's "small government" with trickle down economics sure didn't help the deficit though! Hard to make sense of what they're doing when they still think the Earth is 6,000 years old and stick to their Creationist ideology.

NEITHER blue or red can hold their head high. 17T in debt and further deficit spending is immoral. Enough is enough, time to start paying back little by little each year. NOT increase the debt by a smaller amount each year. If my credit card debt is going up, I am not running my household well. Time for the looters to live by the same economic laws that effects INDIVIDUALS.

If you consider our off the book unfunded liabilities we didn't have a surplus. The government can make their books look however they want. They just change the accounting rules.

However, in the real world just because you ignore something doesn't mean it's not there. From a true mathematical and accounting standpoint there was no surplus. Not even close.

It's just a nice propaganda talking point that is thrown around to keep the red's and blue's fighting with each other.

Puget Technologies (Cannabis Biotech) trading under PUGE looks interesting.

Cannabis BioTech exploring options for patients not wanting to 'smoke pot' FT. LAUDERDALE, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--September 30, 2013-- Puget Technologies (OTCBB: PUGE) announced its new subsidiary, Cannabis BioTech, is exploring alternative delivery systems for medical marijuana. This is in response to the growing health-conscious segment of the population that recognizes the benefits of medical marijuana but do not want the harmful effects or stigma of smoking it.

back in June & July this was a penny stock, early August it hit $1.00, Sept 30th it peaked @ $1.68 and is trading today around $1.50.

Stocks took a dump today. Should have left the short run thru last week into this one but... On the sidelines now. If they fix the budget here soon stock will run 2 percent at least.

Did not think the stalemate would last this long tbh. They will fix it here shortly or crash the economy and I am sure they will not do that, Repubs or Dems.
