Thanks dude!

Yeah man, check out post #1, I explain some back story. But real quick, this is a clone of a mother plant that came from seed about 2 years ago. This strain has been discontinued, because the breeders lost one of the parent plants, so your seed bank won't be getting anymore I'm afraid. But you should definitely check out some of mandala's gear sometime. Stick with the regular seed though, not their fems. Another good one that they still have, which is kind of similar to this one in effect, is Speed Queen.

She gets the chop tomorrow night. :D

And the root porn!

Those buds are fine looking herb! Everything went well in this grow.

Hey thanks brother. I am content. I will be more content once I know how much I was able to harvest, but that will come soon enough. While this was by no means a perfect grow, it certainly has been a great introduction to the world of kilowatt lighting! Things always get better every new time, so I'm happy to be where I am here.

I know!!! It blows my mind! I really can't explain it to people who haven't already seen the difference between the lower wattage lights and a 1000 watter! It's like, even if you grow under 3 x 400w lamps, you are still only experiencing the power of the 400 watters. But when that kind of wattage is concentrated into one point of source, the growth is exponentially faster, stronger, and better in so many ways! I can't put it into words... I just experienced this last night, actually, while I was trimming some of the lower nugs I was quick drying.. I noticed that even a single, swollen calyx is like 5 times the size of the calyxes of this exact same clone under a 400w lamp! Everything, right down to the stems and the calyxes and the sugar leaves, is just bigger and better, and stronger, and thicker.

i just love this thread :)

Thanks dude. You have made my day! :D

Hey Maynard, thanks to your heads-up I have taken care of the situation with the Lemon Skunk clones on deck...

My wife pointed out that the aluminum pan I was using also had a corresponding plastic lid, so that made the fix nice and easy!

Dude, I'm in the same boat with you, actually! That's my wife's idea of help right there... pointing out that the aluminum pan I was using had a plastic lid. She then dusts her hands off and goes right back to NOT helping me with our garden. LOL

I love her to death, but yeah, she really only helps me when I am in emergency situations, like flooding the tent or something, and I have to yell for her to come turn off the pump or something like that. In her defense, she does help me smoke it all.

LOL at myself. It's a good thing she couldn't be bothered to come to icmag and read the things I say!

(In case you do, though, honey, I love you!!!!!!!!)

Looking most excellent, hush. Early on in this thread, I offered that you'd never want to go back to anything else after using a 1000W light. It's really quite amazing, isn't it? Cannabis loves intense light. You do need to be prepared to deal with the heat, however. Your setup obviously does that quite well.

If 62.5 watts per sq ft isn't the point of diminished returns, it's close. Not only do plants grow bigger, but I think they may mature somewhat faster, as well.

I have a 175w metal halide I've been using for young seedlings, but I'm going to move them under the big light sooner next time around. With your rooted clones, I think you can do so almost immediately.

You're right man, credit where credit is due, you sure nailed it when you said that... And I believed you all along, no denying that... So now seeing it firsthand really drives it home. It's true, you really can't go back to using smaller lamps! I almost feel the need to convert my 400w tent into a veg tent, because anything I ever flower in there will pale in comparison to that which is grown under the 1000.

Yeah, I'm going to put the new clones under this lamp right away, but I will only be vegging at 750 watts, to keep my energy bill within reasonable levels while under the 18/6 schedule.

Harvest begins as soon as I finish this here pizza I'm eating. :D

Go for the harvest!

Dunno if you'll actually save money at lower wattage, given that they'll just take longer to get to the size you want.

Um... Good point there, lol. I need to think that through some more! :tiphat:

Okay, I'm off to be a lumberjack now. :D

Hehe. :D

Well first of all, I'm only 3/5ths of the way done, and I've been at it for about 3 hours now. I'm taking a break to smoke all the hand rubbed and scissor hash I've collected so far. That'll give me the needed motivation to finish up!

Furthermore, I completely underestimated the space I would need to hang all the buds, lol. I ran out of space on my pre-strung hanging line after the first 2 plants, and I've had to improvise a bit in order to find places for the buds from the third plant. Now, before I begin the 4th and 5th plants I have to string out more line. THIS means moving a bunch of crap around and just... Oh well, I suppose there are worse problems to have, right? :D

So I guess I gotta get back to work now...

just caught your thread hush and those plants look damned nice. wanted to know though, that 1k light/ballast you have is it switchable, how much did that set you back?

I recently revamped my grow area and could use a good 1k and leave this 400 lifestyle alone. ive got 8x5gl buckets setup but I think im gonna bust it down to just 4
