Man ak that is exactly what I was thinking about starting try out... I am brewin teas at the moment and I was debating if It would be possible just to run the aero as a light tea... One step ahead I see... I will have to try this when I get more space to have a bigger aero unit. Until then ill be using the soil less n tea.
Man props to you. I will definitely be following your data on this.
Gl bro!

In Goes the Tea!

We are just a couple days away from going to the bloom room. The plants are nice and lush, with good stem development. The Rez version is almost twice as tall as everyone else - they are definitely getting an edge seat in bloom.

I waited to introduce the biotics till the end to try to keep the canopy as even as possible. Just 16 oz of this sauce will get them rocking!

All 26 look good enough to make it to the bloom room. I will inspect during planting and make a decision then if we will go with 26 or 24.

Here are the pre-tea pix:

Thanks everyone for their comments and good vibes!

Planting Day!

Just 2 days in the cloner with Aero Tea and as you can see, the plants really liked it. The roots have just the slightest tinge to them, but are otherwise vibrant and firm. This is the look of proper colonization.

On the cover sheet, the plant key shows how the plants are placed in the unit. Positive identification at all times is required. The startup nute recipe is recorded, as well as veg times for all stages.

All plants are pruned to 2 heads, each having 3 shoots. A couple were too lopsided and ended up single topped. I arranged the plants by strain and size to make the best “bowl” I could.

All 26 made it to the unit with substantial roots and healthy shoots. They range in height from 8” to 18”. They are a little floppy from the transplant, but should perk within a day.

They are quite crowded, so I expect to do extra pruning and trellising to keep them under control.

As always, your comments and questions are welcome.

Day 7 Bloom Update

Unit:

Roots:

Center:

Radiant Res:

Data:

To get the best picture of the growth rate, go up to day one and look at the unit shot and compare. These plants had to recover from the final prune, roots trimmed, and transplant shock. Yet look what they did in just seven days!

The plants have formed a skirt of aero roots around the net pots. The oldest roots have a slight discoloration from handling and colonization. In the past, I would be bumping the Zone and considering H2O2. I was used to the stark white roots of a sterile dead res, and it took me a while to get used to seeing this. The roots in question are still firm and white under the colonies of our buddies.

In the center shot you can see that even the shortest plants are growing rapidly. That RES plant just grabbed my attention - it’s just radiant.

In this grow, I will show you my daily data so that you can be “over my shoulder” as I make decisions. For those of you interested in this method of growing, the data sheets should be a good starting point to understanding how its done.

Day 1 was Tea Day for the bloom room. Normally The dose would be 1Qt, but since they started with 2 Qt the day before - they got the maintenance dose of 1Pt. They have started to eat and look to be piggish Dawgs. I’m using 360 ppm as my trigger and trying to keep 400 ppm as max. Tip burn starts around 410 - we will play closer to the edge when the plants are a little older.

I expect to begin trellising and pruning around day 10 and I’ll bring ya along for that.

As always, your comments and questions are welcome.

I promote you to gangaologist status AK.

Thanks for the new aero tea will be trying it out as soon as this run is completed in 4 weeks or so.

My next run I will try to hit and all time run of 50 oz's of primo.
Will be another mixed run of wifi and gdoggyp. Elfs at first tell me wifi is
the shit everyone wants the next breath tell me gdoggyp is what everyone wants.
Go figure, but with the detailed grow info I have different strains but with similar
growth habits. Should be able to pull off a pretty even canopy mixed.

Personally gdoggyp is my favorite. Extremely potent, tasty, and nice unusual smell. My son who rarely somokes tried to keep up with
me on a recent camping trip and I think he did trip. Next day swore it off, yeah.

Again AK, thanks for your sharing priceless information, OG

AK, looking great! PH is rock stable.
So is A, B and Aero Tea and water the only thing you will be adding?

Thanx for the kind words and positive vibes!

I still run GDP, it always stays in the top 5 no matter the competition. BTW Aero Tea makes it even better - a little more nail salon funk and production.

You are always on top of things! Got ya covered in the mailbag.

Some questions I get in pm have relevant information to the thread. Here are a couple I received recently.

So what are all of the ingredients of your bloom nute regimen outside of Aero Tea?

I use Dutch Master Gold Bloom A & B, Powdered Kool Bloom, and rarely pH up and down when required. The beauty of the AT is that helps stabilize pH and the res no longer needs “cleaner chems”. This is why my ppm targets have shifted by about 100 ppm lower.

Can your AT recipe be used in other media?

I have not tried any other media with it. I designed it specifically for aero, but I think it would be the safest candidate for testing with other methods because of the anti-clog/no goo strategy. Calculating base nutes shouldn’t be that hard - start light and move up watching the plants. Of course your mileage may vary, remember getting the recipe to work and then simplifying it required me to go through several painful failures. Your growing pains should be less if you start with this recipe.

How do you reveg in the Aeroflo? Can you just clone the bud of the winner?

I don’t reveg. Since the bloom room lights are always 12/12, and its just not economically feasible to use bloom room for that, I keep the original seedling plant bottoms as archive plants until winners are determined. It is possible to reveg in the Aeroflo - I just wouldn’t recommend it.

One in a while a mistake happens or a mother plant dies. To save the pheno, cloning a bud is necessary. It takes a couple months, but when you gotta save something special, its certainly doable. I just put the bud in an extra cloner space and root it - (takes about a month), then transfer to dirt. It will have cloneable shoots in about another month.

Hey AK..Shit looks ridiculous!... Just a few questions I've been thinking about. How often are you adding the AT, How do you know when to add it?..do you just go by feel or do you have a plan?..Also how do you know how much to add? same thing by feel?..Also are you still going to use the Floralicious or does the AT take the place of that? Sorry to bombard you with so many questions.. I've been following your recipe since the rookies thread. I'm using aeroflo 60 so the res is the same. I've had pretty good results with you old recipe except I have been using the Dutch master add .27 I'm using it at very low strength considering what they recommend..I'm using 175 ml on res change and adding about 30 ml when ever I add 20 of A and B and seems to have had a positive effect...but I must say even my best shit ever never looks close to your shit. I'm prolly gonna try and make the switch to the aero tea...I've dabbled with tea in my EZ cloner in the past when I've had heat issues and it always seemed to help but brewing the tea all the time gold old fast. Seems like I ended up wasting so much tea since I didn't need a ton of it. Do you think you could maybe cut it in half and brew it in a 2.5 gallon bucket? Like I said sorry for all the questions...thanks for your time

GSG,

In an earlier post AK said: "How is it Used?

Since you are sending your bene army off with little food, they need to be constantly replenished. I do this about every three days. I settled on Mondays and Thursdays. This way I always make fresh teas on Sundays and Wednesdays. This matches my mom room tea production and makes it a little easier to deal with.

Application Rates:

TK48 - 8 oz after roots develop
EZ60 - 16 oz after roots develop

When AT is added to the cloner, the plants take off like crazy. If you add it before all the clippings have decent roots, the early rooters will take off first and dominate the less developed plants, resulting in an uneven canopy and mixed final results.

AeroFlo 36 (40 gallon res)

At res change 2 Qt

First 28 days of Bloom 1 Qt(32 oz)

After 28 days of Bloom 1 Pt(16 oz)"

I also wondered about how much tea to brew. If I am only running one 40 gal res and an TK 48 and some mothers I would only need to brew at most a gallon at a time?

Downsizing the recipe while keeping it in proportion should not be a problem.

I toss my leftover tea on large mom plants in dirt. The important thing is to always brew fresh on schedule. The application timing is critical.

Day 11 Bloom Update - Trellis Time!

Unit Before:

Unit After:

CVS Strapped In:

ISP in the Middle:

GBS:

The first level trellis has been put in for the four outside rows. I’m waiting a bit to trellis the middle for the plants to get a touch taller.

All plants were pruned to the top 4 shoots on each head. Most bottom leaves and all damaged leaves have been removed. With this many plants, I will “touch up” the prune to make sure everyone has a shot at the light. The main goal here is to get a quality taste of everyone, so some will be more aggressively pruned.

As always, your comments and questions are welcome.

AK, they look great! So healthy and they seem to be growing faster with the AT than they did with the synthetics or maybe its the strain. The plants on the outside edge are going to be some really tall ones. Really interested to keep up with your data sheets since you switched to AT. You are the Aero master!

Part of the challenge with this grow will be managing all these different and unknown growth rates, while ending up with finished buds that are worthy of comparing to each other. Pheno trawls are the most fun!

The growth rates are faster as I have found with known strains. The other thing I love is that the plants just glow. I wish the camera could capture the effect. I'm not known for growing ugly plants - but syntho/biotics takes it to another level. I simply can't wait to see these bud!

Thanks for sharing my enthusiasm.
