lol,thanks for poppin in!
:tiphat:GT

good call, they would both fit ,its either 4 or 6 plants:),i no just just spent the day sitting and starring at the parts WAITING for that UHH moment to POP out!.....any luck with the lazy susan?:) or have you got something else planned?
py

Well im tryin to figure out what way im going with my poold set up.

Thinking about going coco so I dont have to figure a way to either keep the cords for hydro stuff or make some slide contacts and eliminate the cords so I can have a lazy suzan rotate 360 24/7 while growing.

If I go coco I wont have any problems. I have a bunch of steel to make platforms and I could score some bearings for it and make a cradle for em.

Then I would have to figure the 3rpm motor box, thinking sprockets and chain from a bicycle maybe a 10 speed so I can play with speeds mechanically.

Coco sounds like a good option, clean and easy as well.',have u checked out the spider by 'AUTOPOT',its made for 1.2m by 1.2 m beds.'its a self watering wick system'(gravity fed).

ive been busy putting up the greenhouse/building,and managed to pick one up ,im eager to see how it works in the kiddiepools with soil, ,and some veggies!

Sprockets ,bearings,motors.....chit,u taking it to another level huh!:biggrin:u defiantely sound like u got the DIY SKILLS!:respect:EITHER way cant wait to see what you've done as well!

more updates,as soon as WORK is over!

been working on the rdwc, and spider wick pools!

When drilling the holes to sink the pots,it was clear that only 4 would fit ,6 would've been nice ,but 4 will do!,had to cut them smaller first, then use the cutter to finish it off, that still on the to do list, there are two ways to grow using the same idea, just one uses pots and sinks into the bottom res ,whereas the other, uses the entire pool on top as the POT,and sinks into the res.

THE SPIDER BY AUTOPOT

its a black casing, which houses their patented idea of the 'autovalve',the idea is very similar to the toilet ball in your toilet. It was made to fit for 4 by 4 beds but you can easilty cut and adjust the wicks.IT sits on top out of the soil or medium you are using and is fully automated.

Your gravity fed reservoir will feed and flood the box, then the wicks pull it into the medium and around the container,i though this thing was awesome!

a little peak at the greenhouse and veggies, still in progress of being built and finished.....

And for the veggies i prepared a special home.
2 drainage holes in the bottom,,im going 'soma' style in the pools, but just want the drainage holes there for peace of mind anyway.

The drainage holes were made on the side, incase the grow calls for ebb and flow afterwards.
cut a small piece of shade cloth to cover the drainage hole .so the hydroton doesnt block it.

Love your lil green house n' this spider looks very promising. Update often my good man. :tiphat:

Very curious to see how that spider works for you. Do you plan to feed nutes through it?

Thats the idea to test this round to see what works, and what doesnt.

I KNOW that you can run nutes through it,as long as they are not chunky organic nutes, that block small pipe work, mineral fertilizers work well.ALSO heard of folks using teas, and having good results ,as long as when making them you use a stocking.SO it kinda works out well if you got food in the soil for the for the first weeks and then, water ,teas ,and a bit of biobloom should work well.,well thats atleast what i will try this time,so we'l see.

NO pumps,no timers, no airstones, the only system that lets the plant be in control, the warmer your environment the faster the AQUAVALVE works,or floods the tray.

The more wicks you use THE more water /nutes you can get into the medium at once/by planting them deeper and by not turning on your valve for the first weeks when plants first start to grow/encourages that roots that go searching for the water.win/win.

I like it... Spider... Something new... Nice....

Have fun in the PT....

One thing...

How strong are those white buckets holding the pools up?

Going to need to hold a lot of weight once you start watering and going to need to hold it for quiet awhile...

I got into a little collapse factor come end of my last run...
Only takes one corner to give and it's a bad day...
