The Selling of the Soul

Great show thus far Jericho!

The Corno Di Toro Giallo peppers are great. In my experience, they will go from green, to yellow, to orange, to red, if you/weather will let them.

I love all the veggies, where are the flowers? The color helps lift your garden both aesthetically and ecologically. Flowers->insects->more pollination&pest management. Would help fill some of that bare ground seen in the pics of tomato area and middle of lower bed. I'm also a big proponent of mulching, for what its worth.

Bare ground is for walking/dragging hoses. I like my bare ground. Never have had a problem with a shortage of bees or pollination. Lots of spearmint...lots of peppermint...lots of sunflowers...lots of buckwheat...keeps bees busy enough imo.

Many flowers...just do not grow well here. We have frost far into June...and could start again...any day now. In that way the flower season is short. Many varieties stunt because of the cold nights.

It's around 40 degrees this morning........just about everything has slowed way down. The hail damaged most of the Corno pepper plants. Much of the fruit has been destroyed. Been harvesting them orange/yellow....and most of those...are damaged.

It's a hard fucking world out there............................................time to get the wood pile organized

That's funny man....and it's all true. Beans Motherfucker......

but I've been following a Raw Food blog....and so...this person tells me that beans are bad. I told my wife though...a man has to have something...I've given up so many things now...I refuse to let them take my beans. Christ....I'd starve.

* Been testing my urine pH...man....I'm still coming up overly acidic. Really think clean...proper pH range water...is a major major major...key to health. Did I say Major??????????????? It ain't as easy as it appears...I can tell you that.

What makes Jericho moody????

What makes Jericho moody????

One thing is my inability to find consistency in my body pH....and another is: Hail Damaged Fruit

Look at what once was...a textbook perfect...row of Corno Di Toro Giallo sweet peppers

See here the destruction of said...fruit

How many months invested??? I started these indoors...from seed...back in April. My harvest is not what it could have been....my harvest has been seriously compromised.

This is the game I play.....this is Gardening. You either sign up for the season...play it without faith.......or you sulk whine bitch about the imperfections...that make up your station

"I've seen fire...I've seen rain.................."

YOU WILL NOT HEAR ME CRYING>>>>>'CAUSE I DO NOT SING THE BLUES.....gimme back my bullets

Can't Show All....

Can't Show All....

my tomato plants. Take my word for it....I have many...in many different locations around my property. They could have taken a lot worse...of a hail beating...but being tied/staked/caged saved much of the fruit.

However....all that rain...during the late season ripening phase did not help us out. I haven't watered the plants in over a week...trying to stress them into finish...before the frost claims them

^ Most the plants in these pictures are Moneymaker, Riesentraube, and Ingegenoli Gigante Liscio heirlooms

Here are some fruits off a Golden Jubilee...damaged by hail impact

* I plant lots of tomato....for variety...and for playing percentages. My night temps have already been down to 40 the last couple nights...and night temps...are the big factor when it comes to pulling a...pass or fail crop of tomatoes.

I'd ask for warm nights...but then I'd be..also asking for rain (here...they go hand in hand...because cloud cover and elevated humidity = warm nights. Clear skies = cold nights and low humidity). We are headed into Santa Ana wind season...so for one...rain ain't going to happen....and for..2 rain would fuck up more than just the tomato harvest.

So...I just ride along. What more can I do...with a few dozen tomato plants????.....what more do I have the energy to do???

another reason why...

another reason why...

I do not need anymore rainy weather coming my way

^ The volunteer "Scrub" plant has survived the hail (if you follow my other thread...I documented her during the hail storm)....survived more than 10 frosts early in life...survived a brutal transplant into stock medium....survived being heavily pruned/ripped apart/having almost 1/2 of her frame amputated..

...and has now been pruned for her final weeks of existence. Hit her with the fall southern california sun....fill her out...ripen her up

* I'd no plans for an outdoor plant (no matter how small) this season. I make my own crosses...make my own beans...so as a matter of course...I toss many seeds into the wind...love to see what randomly pops up

She was in a group of 3 or 4....happened to be in a better position for survival (had a little depression in the decomposing granite..and collected hose run off water..and any nutrient floating downhill).....

no idea what she actually is...though I do have a pretty good guess. Sativa hybrids is mostly what I work with...and she looks like she has a good dose of sativa in her...that's not much of an investigation starting point..but that's about the best that comes to light...at the moment.

Thought for sure...Scrub would be a male...but hey...guess not

The body is a vehicle

The spirit is the soul

You can destroy the body

but not the soul

Jesus said

Seek Ye First the kingdom of heaven, which is within

Greater things than these shall ye do

Those who seek to control us through every means imaginable, misdirect us to seek without

We are spirit having a human experience.

Yes, if you mistreat your body, it will break down, but there is a lesson in that, too

Jesus was an enlightened dude.

I don't understand why we need to define soul...spirit..faith...what is what...bodies being vehicles etc..as it's all for naught. The mind's function is to create conjectures...misdirections..deceits....yet down to base level:

the body is all I can know.

Whether it is a vehicle for the spirit (which in turn embodies the soul?)...and whether the soul outlives the body....is something I can not know. That is the mind at work....creating a story for us to grasp onto. That is noise.

the body is the closet to truth I'll ever come...I can grasp it...without the mind. I can shut the mind down..and look within. Grasp the full function of the grand design...maybe marvel a short second..then get dragged back into the mind's movie (easing a worried mind)

Banging out Fall Changes

Banging out Fall Changes

Decided that I was done with the pepper plants...I had going...in smart pots. They were played out...decent harvests over several weeks...but the plants in the ground are so much more

^ Various fruits I harvested off them....before uprooting them...and emptying their pots. I still have many pepper plants growing in the ground...but nights are getting cold..had under 40 degrees this morning...and

pepper plants don't like the cold. Time is short for them...a couple more weeks could be possible..but it could also end at anytime.

* watered tomatoes today...1st time in about 10 days. Stressing them into ripeness..trying to finish as many..as I can...while still on the vine.

I have some that are 8-9' tall...but most I kept under 6'...plenty of green fruit...but also...an ample amount of ripe fruit...for daily harvests.

As I wear them down...I'll put up some pictures..but they don't look much different than...the last time I put up pix.

Days are dry...windy...some hot...some cooler....but lots of cloudless/full sun
