What is PPK growing? Difference between RDWC and UC system?

2 questions.

What is "PPK" growing? I've heard of it but don't know what the acronym stands for or exactly what it is physically?

Also, what is the difference between undercurrent growing and recirculating deep water?

Isn't an undercurrent and RDWC the same thing?

So it's a recirculating deep water with no remote reservoir? It just feeds the water from the bottom of it's own bucket back up to the top of the media and then just trickles down back into the bottom?

I looked for a thread by wicked curse or something but couldn't find much...by searching I read about folks speaking of the style of growing and the thread but couldn't find the thread or a good keyword.
