2x600w 3x1,2m coco slabs with drippers rtw

Super silver sour diesel haze from rez. pictures from day 70 of flower, gonna chop them at day 77.
18 plants per table with one 600w per table. 200L res with a 2500L/h pump for both tables watering 4 times a day for 46 sec, starting at 1 time per day in veg, 90L res per table for run off(i fill the rez and empty run off approx every 7 day) , 2 box fans, the dehumidifier is only in use the last 14 days of flowering. 750 cbm exhaust.
Using canna coco a+b with pk 13/14, rhizotonic, cannazym, ata drip clean and GHE ph down powder. later i will upload my exact feeding chart.
cuttings takes 10-12 to root under 4 18w fluorescent tubes, 4-6 days to root through the grodan under 400w hps and then 4-7 days veg on the slabs under the 600w before switching to 12/12.
Hope to update weekly from the next grow with pictures from every day(if possible). i measure ph with simple strips, got tired of freaking calibrating my cheap ph meter every time i used it. dont really keep track of my ec, but its between 1,1 and 2 after they are transplanted to the slabs. just use tap water, but have some problems with precipitation of what i think is CaPO4 due to high content of Ca++ in the tap water, have had some success to avoid this using Canna ph down for veg(NO3- instead of PO4--).
temps is around 27-28 degrees in the canopy and 24 at the roots. canopy temp rises to 28-29 when the dehumidifier is started in late flowering. RH around 50-70%, rises in the last part of flowering, without the dehumidifier RH gets op to 90% in late flower, considering getting a bigger dehumidifier to get the max RH to 50%.
generally i try to keep it simple. any comment or suggestions are very appreciated : )
Just ask if there is anything that is unclear(probably because of my bad english).

Harvested since last, ain't dry yet so don't no how much their is.

Started some skunk no. 1 cuts(dont know their origin besides that its skunk no. 1 and i got them from a mates mate). After 13 days at 22-26 C in coco jiffies 41 out of 45 have rooted and been transplanted to grodan blocks at day 0 under 400w hps 24 hours of light with temps between 22-26. Just used tap water to soak the jiffies in and dipped the cut i Clonex gel.
Here pictures from day 1. Underneath you can see another set of cuts, its power plant with same origin as the skunk no. 1.

Day 3, first roots appear through the grodan. I moved the Power plant cuts from the beneath the skunk no 1 to another room - you can vaguely see them in the right top corner of the picture with the single root appearing from the grodan. I moved them because after turning the 400w on for the skunk no. 1 the temp rose to 28-29 C in the clone dome underneath the skunk no 1. Now i unfortunately think i have problem with low night temps.

Day 6. I think i will transplant them on the coco slabs tomorrow, the last few still needs to get some few more roots - the picture is of one of the better rooted. So far i been watering by dipping the plants manual in a 40L container. Nutrition solution consist of 25L tap water with 25 mL of Cannas coco a and b(25 mL of each), 100 mL Rhizotonic. The 25 L last until i transplant them to the coco slabs. pH adjusted to 5,75 with GHE pH down for bloom because i was out of the veg stuff. Gladly yesterday a found a local cleaning shop selling 20L HNO3 68% for the price of 4L of pH down veg from canna wich is only 36 or 38%. Almost double strength at 1/5 off the price :dance013: Gonna test it on one of the badly skunk no 1 before going all in - it should be exactly the same stuff as cannas but better safe than sorry.

No pictures of the power plants but the plan is to transplant them to grodans tomorrow if they are well rooted through the jiffies. I have two similarly rooms for flowering, one empty and one with some soon ready to harvest skunk no 1, where there is room for the power plants when they have rooted through the grodan and the skunk no 1 has been chopped down.

Hello.
A shot of the new skunk no 1 on day 10. They went down the basement on the coco slabs on day 7. Soaked the grodan completely before placing them on the coco slabs. Today after 3 days on the slabs they have sent roots down in the coco and the first ones was starting to looking dry(judged on a couple of dry jiffies). Watered them for 30-40 secs through the drip system(+ gave the driest ones a little water with a bottle). Next time i see a dry jiffy i'll water for another 30-40 secs and then put on the timer. Gonna set it on 30 secs 1x day for 3-5 days and then turn it up to 2x day. Last time i fucked this part up by over watering. Gonna turn up the watering nice and slowly to avoid this.

The power plants was a little slow with the roots but after 15 days i was able to put 42 cuts in grodan. Just after the transfer.

Started school again so haven't had that much time to update.
No pictures today but the pp is soon ready to go down the basement, planning to do so on Monday.
Haven't flipped the skunk nr 1 to 12/12, got some issues with to much water again!!!
dunno.gif
think i have it under control again but it stunned the growth for a couple of days.

First a picture from day 10 of veg before it went wrong with the water.

A picture from day 26 of veg, flipped them to 12/12 today and they have now vegged for 27 days. They have recovered a bit from the over/under watering(yes i did achieve both). Maybe i have to top some of the taller ones after a week or two of 12/12 to avoid height issues(i grow in a basement with a low ceiling).

From day 16 of veg. This time i have so far no problems with water, just seems to go fine.
What i did: watered the slabs with a lot of tap water to get them completely wet, gave them a rough "massage" to loosen up the coco, this i normally don't do. Next i gave every hole ½ L water ph adjusted(approx 5,8) with nutes(ec 1,4) before placing the grodan in the hole. The grodan was soaked completely in the same solution the slabs got. Gave them two days of no water at all, on the third day i could feel that the roots had stuck to the coco so i started the water for 1x60 secs per day and on day seven or eight(can't remember) turned it up to 2x50 secs per day.

Allways had a few fungus gnats in my mother room. Never been any real problem, just a little bit annoying. This time some of them has spread/moved down in my flowering room where they caused some damage. Sometimes i get my clonex gel a bit to far up the stem. When this happens some of the cuts gets weird root like growth above the jiffy. These root like areas has previously been giving me problems with fungi/bacterial plant pathogen, but this time the larva of the fungus gnats has entered the stem through these areas, assisted by rot/bacterial infections. Used Bti (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bacillus_thuringiensis_israelensis ) against them, if this dosen't kille them i will buy nematodes combined with a predatory mite Hypoaspis miles.
At the moment i'm using the combination of the nematode and the mite in my mother room, after the fungus gnat became a serious problem in my flower room i decided to eradicate them, to avoid getting them down my flower room again. The problem is that every spring all sorts of bugs enter my mother room, it's just not possible to seal the room because i live in a old (crappy) house.
I will evaluate the use of biological control(the mites+nematodes+Bti) later on.
A pictures of one of the worser plants, and a picture of the adult fungus gnat.

Decided to do a side by side with defoil vs no defoil with my skunk no 1. Always been defoliating because it got to crowded. Before i used to have 23 plants per table but went down to 18 to grow bigger plants, going from 7 to 14 days vegge approx. So out of now where today when i was defoliating i decided to do a side by side. Looking forward to see how it turns out. If i see a difference i will make some replicates and switching the side that gets defoliated and trying another side by side with my other strains just to convince myself properly. Please come with some critique/feedback/advices on this little "experiment". I see some problem myself, different fans blowing on each table, one table receive more water than the other, based on the different amount of run off from each table. This is also the reasons for trying to switch the side that is being defoliated. To see if the difference in yield is caused by some other factor and not my treatement(the defoliation). If i switch it up and the other side now being defoliated yields the most i think i have convinced myself. From previous grows i know that the yield approximately is the same from each table, withing +/- 30-50 grams of each other.
Didn't get a picture from before the defoliation. Here is the defoliated side.

Here is the skunk no 1. Only defoliated once, i don't think they have made many new leaves so wont try to remove any more this time. Maybe i'll try again next time and start a little earlier.

Almost all the fungus gnats are gone, used cheap sticky traps and a predatory mite, Hypoaspis miles. They have completely eradicated the fungus gnats at my moms(medium earth). The mites are still present even though the fungus gnats disappeared 3 weeks ago, think they are living of springtails now the gnat larvae are gone.
They were not as effective in my flowering room in coco. The fungus gnats are still present after 6 weeks, but they are at pretty low numbers now. Don't know if its because the mites were applied at too low numbers. It wasn't me who applied them, have a suspession that they have been applied a little unequal, with the moms receiving the highest densities.

Most be a good year for fungus gnats, I've got them too, going to use natural predators.

Really cool grow' ether thought about another 600 to hang in your room?

Hello.
I'm actually starting to plan to set up another 600w hps to test a light rail. The purpose is to see if i can replace the 4 x 600 watts hps in the basement with 2 x 600 watts on light rails without to big a decrease in yield - so to answer your question no, im actually thinking of removing a bulb instead:) but so far i only bought a rail, 800 cbm fan+filter and a bulb, need to find a extra ballast and build a temporary grow tent on the second floor before starting.
I've been looking through some of your pictures green81, i can see we grow in a similary style (but with some differences). Is it 600w mh you are using? do you switch to hps later on? I'm using hps all the way through so i'm interest i hearing how you do it? Didn't the Gavita 300 LEP work fine or why did you replace it with another 600 watt(i assume)? Those closed hoods seems to work nice! gpw? Nice to see some one else using natural enemies  Can definitely recomend the H. miles. At the moment i'm hoping for them to become permanently established in the coco. At the moment the gnats are gone and have been a gone for a while but the mites seems to remain so i hope that they can survive purley on the springtails which i know there are plenty of in the coco. If the mites persists after this run then in the future i will release a few thousands mites every time i change the coco slabs(i will wait releasing them to i think there is enough food in terms of springtails to sustain the mites). My biggest fear is that the reduction of springtails can affect fungi maybe causing nutrient competition or pathogenic fungi. I however doubt that this will happen.

8 days to root, 7 days in grodan and then 14 days veg on the slabs and now they are 2 days into 12/12. Plan to make them a little bigger this time.

One table power plant, the other is Bubalicious. Blocked drippers has been an issue, especially one Bubalicious has suffered from to little water. Gonna replace the 20 mm PE hose and the smaller hoses going to the drippers with new ones, because the inside of the hoses is covered with some sort of hard white solid precipitate.
