i personally also had no issue, live on a high spot.... now

but

it's pretty fucked up here... i've driven all over the front range in the last week, seen some gnarly ish thats 4sure....

evergreen lake overflowed, f'd up low-lying areas and flash flooded down to denver...
platte in denver has torn up the industrial area, flooded aurora & parts of commerce city,

boulder got hit pretty bad... lots of people from denver headed to boulder and (if they could) nederland to help friends and the smaller communities.

st. vrain destroyed the town of lyons, where i lived until june of this year (so glad i moved, my old road was right by the river....) flooded southside of longmont last week, it's still under water today.... nat. guard is in longmont, helo-evacing people out of the canyons...
i think the st vrain will change it's course east of i25 after this.... could be wrong, but from i25 yesterday, i couldn't tell where the river was before... berthoud exit was underwater till a few days ago...

up the vrain canyon along 66 from lyons to estes the nat. guard & community peeps are re-building old logging roads so people can potentially get their cars and some belongings out, moonshine (rare dankness) is up putting in work, karmabitch got evaced out today, i believe.

big thomspon river fukd up loveland and the canyon from estes park... the road is gone... estes is kinda stranded, as are people living in these canyons
since the floods, rockslides have been pretty bad in the canyons, making evac and road repair very dangerous.
also the big thompson flooded all the way east into greeley, so ya, it's bad in noco also

poudre canyon not hit AS bad, but it mudslided last year... after the big fire, so all that loose dirt is causing terrible erosion into the poudre...

it's fuckd up here, people getting helo-evac'd out are being told they wont be able to move back into homes till spring... the main roads may be fixed in a month or 2, the smaller roads that were destroyed, like 36 from boulder to lyons, may not be fixed till spring... priorities, main roads first.

LOTS and LOTS of grows destroyed, indoors and out... big bad hit to the first legal outdoor crop of colorado... major bummer, but pretty minor when compared to people's homes washing away, and lives in danger...

stay safe icmag-ers... stay high & stay dry

When I saw the emergency broadcast about the dam breaking, my immediate thought was, "When did football fields become the unit of measurement for floodwaters?"

Growing prevents me from bringing in refugees, but the wife and I are looking into sheltering animals displaced by this disaster.

Please remember all the poor pets and wildlife that have been devastated by this, we humans make huge changes to our environments without thought to how much life can be destroyed by our mistakes, if you're presented with the opportunity to rescue an animal, whether with your wallet or your own two hands, do it!

That being said, your local Red Cross and other disaster response teams are hard at work, give them your support and remember to share what kindness you can with those who have been affected.

Finally got a short message this AM that my friends in Lyons got airlifted out and are at a Red Cross shelter.Sounds like they may be homeless until Spring. At least they are safe but to go from a nice home and comfortable life to this must be such a traumatic experience.

My sincerest gratitude goes out to those who are assisting them and others affected by these floods.

Yes good luck to everyone out in CO who has been affected. Those of you who are sitting high and dry and have any extra space, please consider taking in human and animal refugees as I'm sure good shelter is at an extreme premium right now.

I live about 25 miles S. of Boulder so not much going on. Some damage a few miles west of here and the water plant was a little screwed up for a couple days. I feel sorry for the people North and East of here that lost everything. Too much rain and there was water everywhere. The sun is out today so that feels a lot better.
