Man, I was impressed with my 400W light.. I might have to at the least step up to the 600w mark. Damn..... Amazing.... :tiphat:

I do, I *totally* love the 1000! I don't know if I will ever be able to grow under low wattage bulbs ever again now! :D

Yep. It's the way to go if you're willing to pay for the electricity & deal with the heat. I wouldn't try to put one in a space smaller than 4'x4'.

I created a control circuit w/ relay & overtemp shutoff just in case there's a failure of the cooling system. W/O adequate cooling, a 1000w light is just a 1000w heater. Well, more like a broiler.

Your babies are looking great, hush. It'll be interesting to see your yield, that's for sure.

Thanks man, I'm looking forward to the yield myself! I took a good look at the plants, and I think its safe to say I at least have a pound here. But then, I think that the smallest one of the group looks like it could be a QP on her own, and that's the smallest one! The one in the middle, directly under the light, looks like it could be maybe 5 ounces. So I won't be too surprised if I attain my goal of 20 ounces.

But I'm going to step out on a limb here, and say it looks like it's possible I just might get near a pound and a half.

I just began flushing the plants tonight. Just pH corrected water from here on out. I'm sure someone's going to mention molasses and ask why I don't use that? Because I never have before, and never had a problem with flavors. I defer to my golden rule: If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

Girls are looking good, hush. Have any of the hairs turned red/brown? The trichomes? How much longer do you think?

Should only be 8 more days! Yes, the hairs are turning, but I haven't looked at the trichomes in a little while. I'll try to get some macros and look tonight.

Well, last night was an ordeal. I went in there and turned the pump on, to water them, and somehow I forgot to turn it off when I noticed the buckets were about to start overflowing. So I go back to the house and take care of some chores, grab my camera, and head back to the tent for some macro shots, only to find everything overflowing all over the place.

It sucked.

So I didn't take any shots of the garden, I'll do that tonight. What I did do, however, is clip a few lower buds to get a little sample of what's to come. I clipped a few that were way down under the cola, on their own stem, flopped upside down and growing toward the floor. But I also grabbed a couple of nice rightside up buds that were being pressed against the wall of the tent. Anyway, a few grams for my troubles last night, lol. I'm going to flash dry some of them later, and have a little smoke.

Here is a picture of a nicer bud, with flash on:

Anyway, harvest will be soon. Just a week away now! :D

I still haven't sampled the smoke yet, but I'll do that tonight after work. My method of flash drying is with the good old microwave oven. I place a few small buds on a dinner plate, and then put them in the microwave for 10 to 15 seconds at a time. Then, after each burst, I flip the buds over and put them in a different spot on the plate, wiping up the little puddles of condensation with a napkin. When the plate gets too warm, after a few good bursts, I replace it with a cool one, out of the cupboard. I keep doing this until there are no more condensation puddles being left behind, and the buds are dried without being spongy.

This totally works, but is highly tedious. Thing is, I can usually be smoking a bowl in under a half hour from when I clip the buds off a plant. The smoke is harsh, because it is flash dried, but it'll let you know what you are working with.

Anyway, I took a quick pic last night of the garden at day 56:

Looking good in there Hush, I do the same flash dry method as you when I'm in need of a quick smoke. It doesn't taste or smell great but the end effects are the same.

How many days are you aiming for these girls?

Thanks brutha. Yeah, I don't remember where I learned about the microwave method, but I want to say it was either from high times or overgrow. It totally works, without any compromising of the actual high. Smell and taste aside, lol.

I plan on cutting them down on day 63, which is only a few days away! Yippeeeee!
