Hi everyone

Marijuana growers in Eastern Ontario are keeping their eyes peeled for a legendary figure roaming the skies every harvest season — the Fan-Man. Sources say criminals are using fan-powered paragliders to steal illegal marijuana in cornfields.
Flying over the fields, Fan-Man is said to mark the location of illegal pot plants he sees using a GPS. His associates show up later and cart off the lucrative cash crop.
Although it might seem like a fun way to earn a few bucks, the job doesn’t come without its risks. Some drug growers weary of Fan-Man’s antics have even fired shotguns at him to keep the flying scout away from their crops.
Some marijuana growers in eastern Ontario are keeping their eyes peeled this month for a legendary figure who they say roams the skies every harvest season.
"The Fan-man is a guy that goes searching in cornfields for marijuana plants," says a rural property owner, who asked for anonymity because he fears retribution from members of the drug trade.
With a paraglider powered by a fan-like propeller strapped to his back, the Fan-man soars above area cornfields, using a GPS to pin-point places where illegal marijuana grows, the property owner said.
"What he'd do is literally fly real low, looking for these plants. He's been seen around the area by a lot of people, and there's most likely more than one," he added.
The Fan-man is believed to sell GPS co-ordinates of illegal marijuana to criminals, who then camouflage and arm themselves at night to steal the plants. They're known in criminal circles as "pot pirates."

Skeet shooting is a recreational and competitive activity where participants, using shotguns, attempt to break clay disks automatically flung into the air from two fixed stations at high speed from a variety of angles.

There was some bonehead doing this on Kauai a few years back. Sadly he is no longer in the land of the breathing.

He didn't get shot down. Just killed himself landing into a tree. Pilot error.

Karma has this habbit of catching up to idiots like this. His time will come.

yes indeed karma is a bitch and she demands interest

Follow the guy, because he's gotta land sooner or later. Get the license number of his vehicle, and then his identity from easily available public records. Publish it all. The authorities are likely more interested in him and his friends than they are in growers.

This seems like more effort than just growing it, and certainly more dangerous....

for someone to drive down a logging road park sit on their tail gate and remote control a drone with a hand held device is more risky in your books then sitting in a tent for 3 months

Pretty sure he means physically flying over crops and being shot at.
