6K build and Pheno hunt

Hey everyone, this will be my first official thread here. I am in the process of a new build. Right now just getting all the equipment and strains together. Everything will be from seed looking for a few good phenos.

So far I have all my seeds:

10 fem barney farm - critical kush
10 fem dinafem - power kush
10 fem Dr greenthumb - sour 13
5 fem Dr greenthumb - trainwreck
10 regular DJ Short - grape krush
18 regular Mr Nice - Medicine man
plus various freebies i wont run right away

I plan to have my environment and nute schedule pre determined and the phenos that are chosen will be ones that thrive in the room. Im not gonna fuck around changing nutes for individual plants, the plants will adapt to the room not the room for the plants. Survival of the fittest.

So about my room; its in a finished basement with hardwood floors and painted drywall, 10W x 14L x 8H. Planning 6 x 1000 Hps. Basically gonna do 3 rows of 11 plants on each side of the room with a walkway down the centre with 3 lights over each in #5 smarties in promix.

My nutes will be Jacks 17-4-14 for pure water (using RO), jacks bloom booster, and either Jacks calnit or the jacks calnit with the micros in it as well.

Heres my equipment list so far;

6 - Quantum 1000 ballasts
6 - Hydrofarm radiant non air cooled reflectors
6 - HPS bulbs
1 - 2 Ton goodman mini split ($850 from a local supplier)

My questions;

- I havent bought the reflectors yet, anyone have a better suggestion for a non air cooled?

- Will 2 ton be enough? Its cold down there and well insulated. In summer when its 40+ C outside its a steady 20 down there with no a/c in the house. In winter on cold -30 nights I keep it at 6 C to prevent pipes from freezing so heat isnt too much of an issue.

- Looking to put a 100 lb propane tank outside with a co2 generator inside. What btu would I need for a room that size?

- I have an LG 70 pint dehuey from home depot. Not sure if that will be enough, plus dont like the hot air it throws out. I might buy a commercial one. Lots of people talk about sante fe's.. any suggestions for size or model needed?

- I want to paint the walls in this bedroom to prevent mold in the drywall. i have heard of "Kilz" brand primer. Can this be used over top of already painted surface? What specific kind should I get?

- Looking for a simple co2 controller.. suggestions?

- Anyone have any experience with jacks?

once all the equipment is in ill take some pics of the space and perhaps start a grow journal!

dont know how to edit the last post.. but the jacks is 17-4-17 and was recommended by the people at jacks specifically for promix and RO.

2 ton ac seam small for a 6k non air cooled ,each 1000 bulb and ballast will add around 5000btu to the room so 2.5 ton. Each room is different maybe in your case
2 ton will be enouft.
My room is a little bigger than your's 16x10x8 but less power 4.8 k(8*600)i also use a 70 pint dehu. LG and it work ok
For Co2 burner i use a (hydrogen) set on low 15 000Btu fill all the room in 3min.
And a 20Lbs propane tank last 4 week at 1200ppm in my room :)

20Lb tank a month! thats great news. how often do you have you co2 on? is it controlled by a timer or by a monitor? Im gonna try a 2 ton to start and buy a second if need be. Id set the second on a few degrees hotter as a second stage of cooling on super hot days (hopefully wont need to!).

how do you like the water feature on the hydrogen? does water run through constantly or only when the burner is on? I was thinking of running it to my RO after but it would need a constant flow through to keep up

Produce almost no heat(Marey water heater is the same at a much lower price)water flow through only when burner on:)
