135w BlackStar LED w/ Critical Cheese AF

Welcome ICMAGers,

It is time we put the stealth cab back into action. Lets get right to it!

Nutrients I will be using- AN Jungle Juice(Lucas Formula), SuperThrive, Botanicare CalMag, Humbolts Big Up powder, Botanicare Silica and AN Tarantula beneficial Bacteria. I start at 1/4 strength slowly work my way up to full strength, usually 3-4 weeks ill be using full.

Lighting- 1 135w Blackstar



This is my stealth cab closed and open-



And the strain I am attempting is a Dinafem Critical Cheese autoflower. She is 3 weeks old and has shown them pistils


My odor control is a DIY scrubber and fan with ona gel. The pc fan I use is a Scyth Ultra haze(150cfm) and Carbon Filter Sheets from howes. Cab temp bounces from 76-84 depending on how much my a/c kicks on.

Almost forgot....Soil I am using is Roots Organic Camo bag with 1/2 cup bone and Blood meal with also a one pound bag of worm castings per bag.

I got a Blackstar 240. I've read it is actually way lower watts using a Killawatt measuring draw from the outlet. Logically, yours might be less then too. I was disappointed in yield. About 1/3 what an HPS does. But way cooler, so you take your shit and your sugar and just accept that is what you will get in return. Vegs good though. Flower was just weak.

Mine draws 90-95 and the 240s are around 120-135w. Well see I know I can get 50+ grams with 5 cfls in it. Only thing I didnt like about this light is that the fans were really loud. I put 3 x 80mm cooler master fans in it and now its completely quiet. I was going to get a 180 but the price dif wasnt worth 15 more watts

So this is my first soil grow and I ran into a speed bump.....Here are some pics of the problem my girl is showing-



I thought it was a Calcium def. and 2 weeks ago started adding 1tsp calmag and the little yellow/browns spots wont go away. Ive always been a dwc guy and never ran into any signs of a weak plant. Are these normal in soil? The leaves with the spots slowly yellow then turn brown and die off. Ive check under a scope and theres no eggs or mites. I water every 3 days and have feed them every time with 1/2 dosage...Any help is appreciated!

Just tested my ph and its fine. Runoff was 5.8-6.0 and the water was 6.9-7.

I go soil, but straight organic mix and only feed my micro herd black-strap molasses every watering and occasionally tea. I've reused this soil mix of Fox Farms Ocean Forest and added perlite, sphagnum moss, some coco and even topped it up with Miracle Grow Organic once. I amend every grow w/ blood meal, bone meal, EWC, and dolomite lime to buffer.

I may see deficiency once in a while and add stuff like a little Epsom salts for magnesium if I see purple veins. I think that the plants will try to fix themselves and you can do more damage by "over-loving" them unless you are absolutely sure of a fix. It's usually best to leave them alone except for minor help like better access to the light. And I think more often in soil it seems a root may run into a small pocket of something so one branch might show a problem, but not the whole plant. That seems to be less true in hydro.

So I switched to Heads modified lucas formula which is 6ml micro and 9ml bloom with 1 tsp calmag. But to no luck I am still getting these little brown dots....






The plant overall looks well, starting now to fill in nicely. Ive checked my ph alot and runoff is 6ish and water going in is 6.8-7. My ppm's are at 900. absolutely baffled on whats going on???? First little brown spots followed by yellowing drying out and dieing...

I even up'd the calmag to 2 tsp per gallon last 2 feedings and added some big up powder. Because to me it looks just like calcium def???

it could be lightstress ive read that high watt led lamps can cause this when placed close to plants, back the light off a few inches and see if that helps. its kind of odd since teriyaki uses 2 100w blackstar ufo's in his pc case and i havent read of any lightstress with his grows, it could be a combination of the lamps being close and the spike in temps. may just be your soil turning acidic over time. im a new grower myself so this is all info ive gotten from this site so dont quote me lol

what ever it is i hope you figure it out, id like to see the yeild and smoke report from this grow, ive been thinking about getting the 100w blackstar ufo for my pc case.
