Damn Snype, that's a lot of work, although I must admit I've thought of doing just that.

So if your scale can weigh 5000 grams and your dry soil is 4000 grams that means you can only accurately weigh 1000 grams of water. 2.2 pounds.

A gallon weighs approx 8 pounds so you are watering with less than 1/4 gallon per 5 gallon plant? How many times a day do you water your moms?

I soak my moms and then let em dry.

Some things you are not counting. If you tare the scale at minus 5,000 grams, you can weigh 10,000 grams with a 5,000 gram scale. So my scale will weigh a gallon of water if I need it too. You do not need to weigh the watered pot anyway. Every mL weighs 1 gram. I measure my water or solution with Ball glass jars which has units right on them. Even if your scale says "E" because it is over 5,000 grams, it doesnt matter because you will know it is too heavy to need water at that time. I check on my MOMs multiple times per day. After a watering, that container will not need to be watered again for at least 3 days in VEG. Flowering can be a different story depending on the size of the plant. Some times with a bigger bush in a 5 gallon pot, i may have to fully saturate the container every 2 days. It's a lot of work but it's not work to me. This is what I do with my life. All that I think about is growing related the majority of the time.

I ran out of cigarettes 2 days ago and have no way to get any. Hopefully Snypette is coming tonight with my supplies! If not tonight then tomorrow.

Today is focused on making Hash oil and my THC Lollipops! I just made a special batch of lollipops for a local in a lot of pain. She is one of my underground patients and is always in extreme pain from medical problems. The batch that I just made her is the strongest batch that I ever made. Each lollipop contains 153 mg of decarbed Hash Oil! I wouldnt dare eat one myself. For those who havent seen my lollipop receipe, here is the link:

I have 5 EZ Clone 60's and they are always giving me problems. The model that they made in the mid 2000's had a better pump than the newer models. The older pump was similar to a Danner Model 7. The newer models have a pump that I really hate and because of the lack of filter, the sprayers can clog easily. Luckily i check my clones multiple times per day to evaluate what is going on. I saw roots only coming in on mostly the left side of the cloner and i didnt really know why until i looked closer at the sprayers and saw a few clogs. This cloner was just cleaned and inspected and seemed fine but luckily I caught it in time. I also have extra pumps and manifolds lying around with plenty of new sprayers for when clogs happen so I just swaped everything out. I will be replacing all these pumps for Danner Model 7's which I never had any problems with. With these other cheap pumps that the unit comes with, i have to constantly check on them and its hard to see the problems.

have you tried running the cloner on a timer? i was sick of over heating pumps and blowing them out in a few rounds of clones... i put it on a 1:3 on/off schedule, havent had to replace the pumps since. also, cheesecloth works great for a screen on those cheap pumps, just takes a rubberband to keep it on.

Ive been using EZ Cloners for over 10 years. Ive never had a pump blow out. Thats not the issue anyway. Im not sure what you mean by your pumps blowing out after a few rounds with your cloner. My cloners have rooted over 20,000 clones with no pump failures ever. Heat is not an issue for me because my cloners were tested up to 95 degrees F. Running the pump on a 1 minute on / 3 minute off cycle will be bad for the pump and makes no sense to me when the style that I use now can show me roots in 4 days with personal experience. And yes I read that thread where that member on IC does that style with dipped cut up stems. Makes no sense whatsoever. Like I said, i have signs of roots in 4 days normaly with my method and the pump stays on 24/7 and no cuttings are dipped in rooting powder or gel which is not supposed to be used on food crops. Im so sick of growers using all these products that are for ornamental use that nobody even needs to use in the first place.

The cheese cloth idea is a good one but a better idea is just to upgrade all the pumps to Danner Model 7's which has a big filter built right into them.

great idea on weighing the soil... this would make things much easier for me...

Thanks for the detailed explanation!

And yet a further step down the winding path to Nirvana.......Respect.....

Far be it from me to give advice with such dialed setups for some of the fastest and most consistent root formation I`ve seen in a while , but have yas ever tried rooting cuts at a lower ph level......

I`ve got an old close growbro that`s made DIY aero cloners for about 20 yrs and runs strictly increased plant numbers with low veg times as you stated earlier and ........

Swears by rooting at 5.2-5.5 with higher solution and rootzone temps as you also stated with the application of physan 20 cleanouts and Clorox bleach at near the same drop doseage per 10 gals of solution.......

How long were those cuts in the cloner in that killer pic you posted for that developed a root set Bro.....He gets root callousing/nubs/bumps within a couple days and generally good root formation by day 4 just as you , so I`d like to know if ph matters as much as he`s been preachin for 20 yrs from back in my krusty bucket days.......me ?....

Ive never tried lower pH levels in the cloner but i will do a detailed test for you and we can see the differences between those processes.

I`ve got an old close growbro that`s made DIY aero cloners for about 20 yrs and runs strictly increased plant numbers with low veg times as you stated earlier and ........
I think you misunderstood my post. I run decreased plant numbers with decreased VEG times.
Swears by rooting at 5.2-5.5 with higher solution and rootzone temps as you also stated with the application of physan 20 cleanouts and Clorox bleach at near the same drop doseage per 10 gals of solution.......
Like I said, i will do a side by side test to see the results

How long were those cuts in the cloner in that killer pic you posted for that developed a root set Bro.....He gets root callousing/nubs/bumps within a couple days and generally good root formation by day 4 just as you , so I`d like to know if ph matters as much as he`s been preachin for 20 yrs from back in my krusty bucket days.......me ?....
Those cuts were in the cloner for 9 days to get those roots. Each one of those cuttings has over 50 root sites. I have never seen anyone with roots like that in such a short time. Your boy sounds like the man if he gets root nubs in a couple days. Thats why Im so interested in your post. I have a feeling it has more to do with the product that he is using and not the pH level but we will get to the botton of this.
Hell......I was taught how ta root smaller branches for big plants in red solo cups full of 50/50 vermiculite/perlite that worked well for a decade , and then.......
Sounds great! As long as you are happy then you are all good. There are many ways to do things.

I agree with you! Im all about testing to find the correct path to success.

Im glad that I made it to the farm too. You have no idea how bad things got for me last year. I wont go into the full story but I lost a lot with 2 huge robberies in 2 locations. I should be dead but Im still here. 6 months ago I took all the cash that i had left after selling and walking away from all my houses. I was living in a homeless shelter with a brick of cash and didnt spend a dime. I didnt care how long it took me to get to the next venture. It wasnt about making fast moves, it was about making the right move. I was kicked out of the shelter for buying all the homeless food and giving motivational speaches. After that I was living in the street until Snypette's mom took me in for a few months so I could get my plan together.

Gonna have to chime in here and say a cycle timer is just one more thing that can lead to failure.

Just had a CAP cycle timer die on me after 3 days use. Awoke to a bunch of wilted plant matter this morning.

Sorry to hear that but that the exact reason why I keep things as simple as I can. The grow product industry is focused on money and profits and not the best components. This industry is such a scam just like the American Government.

ive ran both the EZ and Turbo in my setups... gone through pumps in each one after only a few rounds of clones. maybe i just have bad luck with cheap pumps haha. i use to get horrible problems with stem rot too, which i contributed to the 80-85 degree reservoir. since running the pumps on an on/off cycle i havent had the issues with heat or stem rot and the new replacement pumps are running great. strange how some methods work for some and not for others at all. strange that ive had much higher success rates dipping cuttings ( for 30min ) and then placing into the cloner. maybe this stops air bubbles from forming at the base of the stem while i wait to throw them in the cloner?

i'll have to check to see if the clone dip i use is for ornamentals only, never bothered to read the label honestly. thanks for bringing this to my attention as this is definitely important.

cant wait for some updates.
happy growing

Motorbreath's and Stardog's
I had 6 phenotypes of Motorbreath but 1 was problematic so I tossed her and now Im left with 5. They all show slight signs of sensitivity in VEG and they also grow slower than all of the Stardog's. Because of this, i put the Motorbreath's under bigger MH lights yesterday while the Stardogs are under smaller CFL lights so I can get them to the same size. All the plants are in 4 Gallon containers of Fox Farm Ocean Forest Soil with only water being added as well as 25% perlite. All of the plants were topped multiple times and they should be in Flowering next week. I almost hope that these plants dont turn into something special because of how they VEG but I will be taking back ups to MOM just in case.

On the other hand, all 3 Stardog phenos look amazing in VEG and grow at good rates with no signs of sensitivities at all. The KK Stardog that took 2nd place in San Francisco grows at the exact same rate as my Stardog #9 pheno and they both grow slightly slower than my Stardog #6 pheno. The #6 is so beautiful but so are all 3 of them! They have been topped multiple times to try and keep them from growing faster than the Motorbreaths. I am very optamistic about finding something special in at least 1 of the 3 Stardogs. Time will tell. Pictures to come next week when my new power cord comes!

Farm life is so relaxing and amazing! Last night I stayed up until 4am and sat outside and watched the stars. Ive never seen so many stars in my life and the sky was so clear.

Yesterday I helped some locals harvest a bunch of outdoor. We are getting ready to harvest another round in a few hours. Personally, i wouldnt of harvested so early but they are not my plants and Im not trying to let them know and piss everybody off. People here dont seem to like out of towners so I just keep my mouth shut. Im sure when they see what I will be harvesting soon, they will listen to what I have to say. In reality Im just trying to enjoy my new life in paradise!

Motorbreath Observations
1 month veg in FFOF and topped multiple times under CFL's. Plants range from 8-11"

All the Motorbreaths grow much slower than my ChemDD in the same conditions. The plants seem harder to grow and need to be more fine tuned to grow properly and lag in fast growth. They are sensitive to pH more than all Stardogs which show no sensitivity.

It looks like I can place them in 2 groups for leaf, structure and growth. The first group grow a little faster and share similar traits. That would be #1, 2 & 5. These plants share a similar structure and may be the most sensitive. #1 is not as sensitive as 2 and 5. #2 may be the most sensitive. This group grows faster than the second group and has a structure that is more likely to stretch during flowering.

The second group is #6 & 7 and seem to have a different structure which grows slower and seems more likely to not stretch as the first group may. They seem like they will give a more chunky type of bud structure. The 7 grows the slowest but they have a good looking structure that may be stronger to support a more dense bud.

These plants are getting more interesting to me as they grow. My favorites so far are still 1, 6 and 7. Pictures to come this weekend!

My Chemdog Double Diesel has now been renamed BYTCH. There is no need to ask why or comment on this. Anyone who does will be ignored and not welcome here.

After smoking a bubbler of BYTCH hash oil, I felt like going to do some work in one of the VEG rooms. After that I really wanted to see the outdoor BYTCH. Oh my god is she doing well! I did some defoiliation around the main tops to take out the main fan leaves going into the middle of the plant tops. This opened the top of the plant structure to let the other branches in the middle become tops so now it looks like this plant will have 9 tops.

I have performed 2 treatments of my "charging your medium" method and I can tell it has really helped. If I didnt do those 2 last treatments, this plant would be all fucked up right now. All spotting on any leaf has completely stopped and repaired most damage because I caught it so fast at the first spot that I saw. You can tell she will need 1 more treatment as soon as I can get the soil dry enough which should be this weekend. The reason I can still tell she needs 1 more treatment is because of the very tops of the growing shoots. The newer growth is coming in less green than the rest of the plant. Newest growth is a good indicator for the pH and feeding problems. Im also keeping in mind of the amount of days it takes to see the plant looking better after fixing the pH of the medium. Remember that the pH of my medium fell from 6.5 to 5.2 in a few days from someone poisoning my plant. So now everything is fixed after 1 last treatment. Pics to come this weekend!

Today was a pretty relaxing day and there wasn't much to do. My supplies came in today for the next 2 weeks and I received my new lap top charger so now I can post up a couple of pictures! I've added a picture of a few trees that I enjoy to watch on a daily basis into the first post in this thread.

This is a BYTCH that I put out very late this year. If the outdoors cooperate, she won't be finished until the 2nd or 3rd week of October. We will see what happens. She smells really good right now!
