I was speaking with another friend today and he told me that using only butane will create a "snot" like substance insead of an "oil" is this due to the waxes being left? how do I avoid this?

I guess it depends on how you define snot.

We get oil instead of anything close to snot, but indeed there are plant waxes present in unwinterized BHO.

Here is a picture of one with and one without winterizing. Do either look like what you would describe as snot?

I think Im gonna try the vacume purge approach, The "shatter" seems like an excellent product and so much easier to handle
