NEBULA : Smells like beer

I am growing Paradise Seeds' Nebula outdoors 33 degrees latitude. The plants are very vigorous and healthy and flowering at 7 weeks. I noticed the smell of beer. I looked around very carefully and noticed that no one had been to the site, which is higly inacessable.

I could smell a faint scent of beer, when I stood very close to the plants. The smell is alot like warm Heineken. It is emanating from the center of each plant, not the side buds. No bud mold or powdery mildew can be found.

The plants are fed Bat Guano and BlackStrap molasses now that they are in the flowering stage. I did not notice the smell until this morning.

I always said that Heineken was a tad skunky.
Makes sense since hops and cannabis have terpenes in common.
Can't say I ever smelled a beer-scented plant though.

That's the smell of Afghani genetics...enjoy :) I know Nebula is sativa dominant, but there is still a good proportion of indica in there.

My current AK/Widow crop has gone from sweet milk to blackberry to canteloupe to grape skunk...I'm definitely enjoying the aromas, and can't wait to see what the buds taste like when curing is complete.

Gelado: Have you ever harvested AK/White Widow beyond 8 weeks, if so what are the effects on the high and taste? Thanks.

beer is flavored with hops, which happens to be the closest living reletive to the pot plant, they have very similar smells, they have identical red hairs and stickly trichomes and even similar looking seeds...sure the calyxes look nothing alike but genetically they are as close as two plants can get to each other.

if you crack a bottle of stella you will smell it right away, as with most pale ales as they use lots of hops...ive heard friends make the same claim and yet every time i check it out i find out the weed doesn't smell like beer it smells like weed, and beer just happens to be flavored with something that smells just like weed and is very similar to weed... so no their weed didn't smell like beer, their beer just smelled like weed...

I haven't yet, but I have a plant that should be coming down at 13 weeks from first pistils. It's a surprisingly long-flowering pheno, but looks like it will yield well!

I grew nebula five years ago from a cut. Super dank after curing, smelled like Kiwi shoe polish and skunky cheese funk.huge flowers at 9 weeks in soil. Sticky buds, sticky leaves, trimming a bitch.Amazing finger hash. got a different pheno from a different grower and it had a faint beer smell mixed with wild flowers and liche nuts .not dank like the first cut was.

I have regular Nebula seeds (some of the last) and will be growing out my five pack and letting the males blow their loads for a day or two so I have seed for the future.

The finger hash is gun be fun with NEBULA. I squeezed the buds today and noticed the scent is becoming more complex. The beer smell is still there slightly, but now with honeysuckle and a light citrus fragrance. The first amber trichomes are starting to appear, can be seen with the naked eye in direct sunlight.

Thanks. I have thousands of flight hours logged :). I am very much looking forward to that potency level and the smiles on the faces of my friends that smoke it. I will post a detailed smoke report - I am harvesting material from day 56 and day 70.
