Bedside Locker Micro Grow

looks good but with heat rising where is your extraction as you have cool air coming in from the bottem and hot air going out from the top somewhere

Yes this, I should have expanded a bit more on my last post. Even with a pc fan sucking out the hot air just underneath my one 45w cfl temps were very high in my first build. And when I put the scrubber on they skyrocketed to over 110F/43C!
:microwave:
Though it was a relatively hot time of the year and I was on the 2nd floor. Just something to keep in mind and plan for :)

There are plenty of examples of cfl micro and pc builds on here that are well ventilated, but I did find it tough :wallbash:

Hey everyone. Thanks for checking this out.
I'm going to have another 80 fan at the top of my back cover to draw in cool air over the girls. There'll be another one blowing the air about inside. The current ones in the photo are the exhaust and scrubber arrangement which I'm just waiting on one more fan and 2 gaskets, then that's finished.
The cab will be completely finished in about a week's time. Though want to test as much as I can before I crack any beans. Mainly the temps and effectiveness of my scrubber. Anyone got any ideas on how to do that, would be much appreciated.
I got my lights from lamp specs on recommendation from another member here, sorry I can't remember who just at the moment, but it's in a few posts back.
Anybody got any good recommendations for a strain that's low odour and will be good for ScrOGing?
Time for another morning smoke. Keep 'er green everyone.

ive read papaya is good for scrogging and lst plus it tastes great and to test your scrubber put a inscent in there.

ever considered building a mother box? would be a hassle ordering beans all the time.

Hey Urban. I may look at a mother box in the future. Just want to see if I can get this growing me a little first. This is sort of a little experiment for myself to build the knowledge up to grow some good smoke. The help and ideas I've got off here have been fantastic too.
Time for the morning refresher now, keep 'er green everyone.

Update time. Almost got the construction completed. Got the power hooked up to the lights, fan speed controller completely wired except 1 internal fan, scrubber assembly complete just needing activated carbon put in, and intake fan/filter installed.
Discovered loads of light leaks after I closed the box up with the lights on. The faux front face I made out of the old drawers had to be resealed from the outside. It has neatened up the look a little bit all the same.
I have run the system for 3 hours to give me an idea of temps and that so far. Ambient seems to be 27 c and 32-33c with lights on so far. Think I may bring this down a little more with strategic placement of my internal fan.
Anyways here's the pics. Included my new pot in there for size as well. Enjoy and keep 'er green everyone.

Completed update. Any questions welcome. Sorry had to wait until well past finish to update for security concerns. Strain is Wappa. Medium was seedling soil mixed with 20% perlite in a 3 litre air prune pot, veged for 4 weeks, flowered for 8 weeks and left for 2 days in total darkness before harvest. Bio grow and flower nutes used throughout. My original idea was to run it on 96 watts of PL-L's, but temps were getting way too high. So the entire grow was done on 48 watts. The passive intake had to be doubled in size to get temps stable.
Anyhow, enjoy and keep her green everyone.
