construction failures are relatively common in inland areas, but not expected in showcase cities such as Shanghai which will host the 2010 World Expo.

I heard a statistic about a year ago that China was completing a coal-fired power plant EVERY SINGLE WEEK! That is even more impressive. These pre-fabbed buildings go up pretty easily as mentioned earlier... it's like a giant tinker toy set. We could probably pull that off in the US. But a large coal-fired power plant is like a 3-5 year construction project. Pretty fuckin' amazing to be completing construction on one every week.

I wonder how many aircraft carriers they have hiding until they need them? I wonder how many weapons they have built that are superior to americas weapons that were stolen by a "chinese hacker" not long ago............. they have their citizens as the manpower for the labor... and america for the brains

the truth is that when you steal technology foregoing the R&D pains, losses and successes you cheat yourself in the long run. You (the Chinese) are no better than the scumbag who'd cheat on a test, he/they are no smarter for their efforts and would NEED to cheat/steal again to keep up with our current technology.
