So to each there own, if you think you qualify as a "big fish" then I ASUME that you are currently VERY tired from the break down/ move of your grow at this point four days later. For those of use small fish it probably changes very little, Don't' Tell, Don't Smell, Don't Sell!

It's the first day of six weeks and looking frosty with some nice although light colors of ..purple? ...maybe? Kind of reddish.
Anyway, not a high yielder, BUT I see the allure and I read about it's rep.....I can't fucking wait......I means drooling.
Hope we here form Pus soon, I fear he may of buggered off!
btw. Don't know about "that" other place, lots of bitter members and not many resources. And once again it follows a flawed paradigm of hooking up the forums (and therefore the vast majority of the "Communities collective knowledge") and a seed bank. Though IC does have some kind of separation it is clearly affiliated to the boo and SB.
The other place doesn't have that separation, and is still vulnerable to the same issues as IC, even more so, really. They don't use a HTTPS connection, so it would be MUCH easier to intercept communication on their site......not even by a little, I mean by a bunch. It is in NL, but that hasn't stop "anyone" in this day in age.
I feel the efforts needed to ease drop on and decipher a https connection go's to that cost vs reward. Though that all go's to shit if LEO has admin level access to IC........ once again cost vs reward.
I know the cost of running a forum of this nature and size can be high, but I think the community could cover the cost with the right kind of prompting and cajoling ...much like Wikipedia.
Especailly with some much collective knowledge at steak.

well, I was going to leave but I finally figured last night, what's the point? no matter where I go or what I do, they are going to get me. i mean, how could they let me get away? i'm way too big to hide, what would I do with this huge warehouse of plants? plus I couldn't just walk away and let you guys down, I realize how much you all look up to me because of my larger than life status and expert level advice. so i'm staying, right here where it feels like home.
in all seriousness, whatever is going on, they'd need a whole lot of enforcers to kick all these doors and i'm pretty sure 90% of us are not worth the effort or expenses, especially at this point. this hobby is risky to begin with, i'd like to believe most of us accept that and all that comes with it when we take that first step into this. sometimes we stick our necks out more than we'd like to or should, but we're a careful bunch. it's hard to know when to stick around and when to pack it up. since this news came to light I've been in flight mode but dammit, i'm tired of running from the slightest shadow. I guess it comes down to this, there's a fine line between balls & stupid, I just hope the part of the line that touched those balls doesn't rub up against me

Risk assessment, it's all about what risks you find acceptable.
I think alot of people get over whelmed by the information and let there fear get the better of them. I'd rather have as much information as possible.
As my GF asked me "Even if there is a little chance, is worth it to keep posting there?" I couldn't help but to agree with her at first. It's hard to articulate exactly how I feel about continuing to post here, but here I em.
I'm not quite in agreement with Incognegro, but i truly understand why he feels that way. I don't ( try not to) engage in "internet" fights including ones on forums, they usually don't end well and end a big waste of energy. I just relearned that recently in a thread about the use of pesticides, more specifically AVID.
The conversation had to be moderated twice as people went nuts and drew lines in the sand instead of learning something.
I eventually dropped out of the conversation, but not before I had learned somethings and changed some of my future plans.
I had used AVID once, on my very first plant. I had spider mites and didn't know what else to do. A shop gave me some of this and a wetting agent and said that " if it was in veg it would be OK to use", it was so I did.
After that thread I challenged myself to learn more about it and decided that it was not acceptable for ME to use in MY system. So I removed it from my "DEFCON 1 gonna nuke them from space" plan and replace it with a more rigorous plan using neem, Azamax ( it's neem also) and spinosad. I requres more from me, I have to be disciplined and educated for it to work, but so far so good, looks like I'm beginning to win this war.
So the thread here was worth it for me, I just had to step back and realize that this is the internet...it is what it is.

despite my last post, seeing all my friends disappear and listening to my girl give me grief for continuing to thumb my nose at the situation I guess i'm out too. I will be back as long as ic is here and I wish each and every one of you gigantic harvests and success. things are getting better for us and soon nobody will have to worry about anything. it's been fun and thank you to everyone that ever took the time to help or say a kind word in here.

Personally have always ignored the administrators of this site...just never interact with them.
In large groups it seems some always want to establish a hierarchy...oh well, fuck them and the other children who want to play that game....no thanks for me....I'd rather be alone.
There is a lot of trashing of breeders here.
Oh well...free speech muddafuckers. I will state my opinion when I want to and get slagged if someone doesn't like it...yeah ok, their opinion and I don't give a fuck. If I can learn from it, thanks. If I can't, I just ignore it.

MK, I agree this site is what you make of it - there is much to be learned if you sit back and just read. I've always found that rereading until I think I get it and then doing additional research outside of here is more beneficial to me than questioning the know it alls. I manage a cast of colossal dumbasses all day at work, I don't need to spend my down time arguing with trolls and those that think they make the cannabis world spin.
That said, I've talked to and learned from a ton of cool people here and the knowledge gained has definitely improved all of my skills.
I've participated in many, many internet forums over the years spanning many different interests and the one thing they all have in common is that they all seem to reach a peak in participation, shared knowledge, and manners and then it all goes to shit for whatever reason. Sometimes its ego, sometimes its declining interest in the subject, sometimes there's no clear reason, it just seems to happen to all of them.
I revived my interest in growing about a year before OG was taken down and I was thrilled to find this site simply due to the world wide participation and the vast scope of subject matter covered. If it does decline to the point where I decide to bail, I hope I find you all out there in another corner of cyberspace.
