Here's an exodus kush in a 20 gallon tote. Buddy of mine had a few plants outside. I received a phone call that thieves were going to steal all the plants. I immediately called my buddy and told him what was up. This is what we did to fuck those thieves. It's sitting under a single 400 mh. Since this pic I gave her a haircut and took a bunch of the lower branches off, and cleaned out the inside of the plant as well. Temps where it is are excellent and I can barely feel heat under the bulb.

Does anyone think that some t5's for side lighting will be a good idea? I have a 2 bulb 4ft. fixture and a 2 bulb 3' fixture. I have more stakes and i'm thinking about putting a trellis up too. Any thoughts, comments, or suggestions are welcome. I also have 2 more 400 hps's and a 600 hps. My buddy might be cool with using another light, but definitely not all of them. If it was me I would have the 600 over it and the 400's on the sides.(I just don't think I can convince him to do it.) This is my first time flowering a big plant indoors. The biggest I have ever done inside is 3 gallon pots. So i'm super stoked to see what I can get it to yield, and possibly make my buddy convert over to tree grows.

then swap that 600 hps for a 1000w hps.
then get a few friends for that 1000
All in good time my friend. Power usage is an issue at his place. So 1000 watts of hid lighting is about as big as we can go. I really wanna hook up the 400 hps and have mixed spectrum lighting. If I do use the other 400, I wanna try and rig something up so I can rotate the lights. Like mh on one side for a day, and hps on that side the next day. I think a steel caster wheel without the wheel will work. I will just put it on the ceiling, and attach a board to it. Attach the lights to the board, and I will be able to move them 180 degrees. The cords on the lights are long enough to where I see it working in my head.

Wouldn't it be easier if you just turned the plant 180 degrees daily instead of turning the lights?

With smaller plants , yas circle the wagons and put the plants around the bulbs......

With bigger plants , yas surround em with bulbs.....and....NEVER rotate the plants to where they`re "constantly" re-orienting laterals and plant structure by using vital plant energy to grow back toward the light source.......

Causes limb stretchin and internode elongation that`s no bueno......

Good luck.....DHF.....:ying:.....

Bringing outdoor plants indoors also brings outdoor bugs indoors. Things to think about. Good luck!

I got ya dhf. In my lifetime of growing I only rotated a plant one time, and that was in veg, never in flower. I can be stupid sometimes but i'm not a retarded. But... Rainman was a re-tard and he practically bankrupted a casino..... Bob's I thought about that. Luckily the only bugs that were brought in were slugs. They are dead now. There is a gallon jug of 29% h2o2 layin around just in case. The plant does still have mites. They were on it from when my buddy was vegging it indoors. They aren't real bad, but I know how fast they can spread. My buddy is kinda on the poor side of things right now, so ordering predators is not an option. I have used hot pepper spray before and it worked pretty good. I'm gonna see if I can find a thread on how to make my own hot pepper spray.
Gonna see my buddy today and see if he wants to put another 400 over the plant. If not gonna at least see if I can get him to go up to a 600.

I'm using them at my other grow dj, and they are working. I have never seen results as good as with the no pest strips, even predator mites. I have a flood table that I flower in two sections. I just replanted one side and put some strips up. The mites have yet to move to the new plants and it's been just about a week. I'm gonna tell my buddy about the strips.

Way to fuck them thieves! I work in a gro sto and I've recently heard about several cases of backyard theft from some of the regulars. Urban outdoor unfortunately seems to attract more rippers than coppers, especially here in the Denver metro area... happy to hear about your clever circumvention!

You'll definitely want some side lighting around your bush, hit it from as many sides as you can and rotate if and when possible. If you have power restrictions, take your lumens in whatever form you can get them. I would take a T5 or even a CFL over no bulb at all any day. Drop your 600w HPS down around that thang, you can get it within 12" with adequate airflow and you'll see a markable difference in yield. As previously mentioned, two on the sides would be better than one up top.

Show your buddy high life 45's "harvest large love machines" thread and you should be able to instantaneously convert him to a vert tree farmer.

Word..... But rotating the plant is a big no-no. I want it's energy to go into making buds, not turning branches. It's been a few days since I've been there. Hopefully today I can go and make some lighting changes and snag some pics.

if you could convince him to, at least surround the plant with all 3 400's. I would use all of those lights.. turn off appliances, run extension cords, whatever it took, come harvest time/ time to pay the power bill, he will have so much inventory that the money spent on power will be chump change in comparison. if not, 600 up top and surround with t-5's. you guys haves enough available lights to make that big girl yield. if you can't convince him, at least you will have a bunch of hsh making material to add to what will be a decent harvest. good luck Frankenstein!

Well I convinced him!!! Told him about hl45's thread and had him sold. So now there's a 3 light, 1 plant setup. The back of the plant stayed that way, Just turned it 90 degree's to accommodate more lights. I have them set up in a sort of triangle. 600 on the top of the triangle and 400's on the sides. It looks so awesome. My buddy seriously made one of my dreams come true. I have wanted for a long time to surround a big plant with lights, and now I have!! Only managed to snag one pic.

No reason for the 600 to be above Bro.....Drop it down and away from the plant lil further than the 400`s.....

Top of socket/bottom of bulbs even with top of plant.......tips of bulbs down where proper lumen penetration and plant absorption can occur........

Good luck with swellage......Clean all sucker branches off main laterals as well as the innards next to main stem that`ll suck plant energy and produce nuthin but flarfy popcorn , and you`ll be on your way to dialage......

Peace.....DHF......:ying:......
