That was a significant victory. Henderson was going to try and Clay Guida him for the win. The series of body kicks changed that. The judges couldn't save Henderson this time.

Now lets see Aldo vs Pettis.

Yeah, it looked like a good armbar. I didn't think it would work.

Great night of fights including the prelims.

Wow! Pettis looked like he was gonna be a punching bag for Henderson and suddenly some good body kicks and a armbar that surprised everyone. Surprised me anyways.

Was not expecting anything great from this card and got surprised. Would have ordered ppv if I had known. Still fun to see streaming.

I like to discuss the controversial crap that happens so here I go again.

Many people are complaining on the net that the Mir/Barnett fight was stopped early. In the middle of absorbing a rather severe beat down, Mir was caught flush to the face/head by some punches and elbows, then takes a knee to the face and immediately he goes limp to his knees. Then he takes another few shots to the head as he is chest down on the mat. To everyone there and on tv he looked knocked out and done. Then as soon as it was called, without getting a classic wake-up punch to the head that sometimes happens, he springs back to life and starts to complain. WTF!!

Frank Mir was tricky and I think he had a back up plan all along. He thought he could win and went there to win. He figured if he was going to lose it would be a flash knockout. He was ok with that but was still sure he was just going to beat up Barnett.

Then quite quickly in the first round he realized he was going to take a huge beating for a couple of rounds and suffer a physically painful tko or ko. An embarrassing defeat at the hands of a hated foe. He either completely faked going limp or he actually was temporarily knocked out and the fight was correctly ended by the ref.

The more I see it and the way he came right back to life and didn't seem groggy complaining and kinda fresh, I think he quit to stop the pummeling.

Either way Mir is done. I did enjoy most of his fights though. He could still be an upper level gatekeeper but why take any more head shots.

Then there is my man Guida.

Guida was one of my favorites but he has had many chances to go to the next level. He is tough to beat but he will never be the champ. He is now a gatekeeper at most.

He is upper middle level still and on any given night could win or cause problems because mma is like rock, paper, scissors. Mendes takes away Guida's best skill set. His wrestling and grinding power. But Pettis couldn't stop it. Then Pettis beat Henderson who schooled Guida. Mendes will never beat Aldo let alone go up in weight and defeat Henderson or Pettis.

Mirr was robbed .
The armbar from pettis was textbook fast and quick . Beautiful

I honestly think refs have been told to stop a fight when it looks like it could end, so before it actually does

remember, this is on cable TV now, the sport needs to appeal to the masses, not just the Just Bleed guy

he is awesome

so trivia question:

WHy does Josh have "Warmaster" as his nickname?

yeah I figure it's an evolution of his "babyface assassin" days. 11 years later, he's a seasoned warmaster. war warmaster! :biglaugh:

Yeah, he just irritates me with his hair flailing around everywhere.
He should be made to tie it up.

He reminds me of when I used to play Streetfighter against people that would jump around and had no clue of what they were doing....
they were often harder to beat than skilled players who had patterns.

Can you imagine Clay's hair all rubbing on you gently, tickleing your shoulders as he mounts you. The perfumy smell of Prell shampoo wafting in your nostrils as your trying to catch your breath. His sweat dripping on your face and chest as his skin slides around on yours with a lubricated smoothness.
:puke:
I wouldnt want to fight the bouncing caveman. Ide have to knock him out in the first minute or Ide be so freakin pissed with this dudes hair in my face and him all on me suffocating me like a hairy ape. Tie that shit up dude!
I bet he uses it as a distraction. He does swing it around when he moves his head all over the place.
