Hey Super...

I've been using Avira Antivirus for a few years now, its free, never had a problem with viruses since I've been using it.

http://www.avira.com/en/avira-free-antivirus

I think I chose to use Avira from reading a recommendation from Consumer Reports.

Here's a review from Cnet:

http://download.cnet.com/Avira-Free-Antivirus-2013/3000-2239_4-10322935.html

Shit...now that I just read that review, seems like they don't like the current version. Oh well, at the end of the review they recommend three other free downloads they think are better than Avira.

I'm really computer illiterate, my local provider recommended AVG anti-virus to me. been using it for years now & haven't had any major glitches. Occasionally I'll need to run a system restore to an earlier point to clear some sort of hinky behavior but AVG has kept my computer clean. I use the free version. And Super Anti-Spyware too, if it's free it's me....... :)

I don't download p2p or any other file sharing system, I understand (as explained by my provider) that viruses are well hidden in video files. I prefer to buy my movies anyway, that or VOD from my cable company.

You may need to go get AdBlock...it is a browser extension, and I haven't had a pop up since--:)

I like this site, also http://www.lyngsat.com/ haven't really used it much but you can get international tv and whatnot. Alluc can be ok, I like torrents myself. torrents aren't complicated, you browse torrent sites to find what torrent you want and then just install BitTorrent and hit magnet link. I would recommend a proxy though.

AVG is solid for anti-virus, not annoying, does its job. I use spybot and malewarebyte's anti-malware as well, never had any problems. I use AdBlock Plus as well, works real well.

Also thought I'd give Ghostery a shout out here, similar to adblock but it blocks all the trackers from random sites and shit, links you click to new pages often have a lot of trackers, great add-on, would never surf without it. (firefox) tells you what the trackers are and what they track too if interested.
