Broad Mites?

Status
Not open for further replies.
I posted some pics of what I thought were eggs in post https://www.icmag.com/ic/showpost.php?p=5925457&postcount=2085
People told me they were trichs and everything looked okay so I moved on. I usually scope the bottoms of the top leaves because thats where they like to lay eggs, but today I did the bottom ones and saw this

Could these be dead. I have been using strong doses of forbid within my rotation? Also can someone identify what mite I'm dealing with here? I know broad and cyclamen are supposed to be elliptical but these look round like two spotted mite eggs but I assure you no two spotter could survive this room.

Are all you OGbiowar people brewing the tea or just using the directions on the foliar pack and spraying? My plants are looking good except for those eggs I found on the bottom of my bottom leaves but I want something I can use in flower. How far into flower can you use it? I imagine fungus doesn't taste good when smoked. Thanks.

I did but I believe they're gone atm. I had an outbreak for like 9 months by the time I figured out what was going on I decided to scrap it and clean and start over. About two weeks after popping seeds I noticed problems so I started treating with avid, pylon, forbid, akari, and essentria ic3. They've bounced back and the second batch of seeds I popped were treated from the start and will soon be bigger than the ones with a three week lead so I think I'm good as long as I keep treating. I'm going to get nuke em for flower it says it can be used up to harvest.

ive finally got the veg room completely under control. gutted the flower room and not sure wether to just bleach it down or spray around to make sure theres nothing lurking. id prefer to use bleach to a pesticide tbh.

My last crop (i had to tear down my rooms because of a narc issue) I sprayed OGBIOWAR 1 week before flip, and I sprayed them twice a week until the last week of flower. It was my biggest yields I have had to date.

You can spray your plants up to the day of harvest.

I don't know why people get scared of foliar feeding their plants.

Does it not rain the last 3-4 weeks of the outdoor season? No.

i understand the apprehension about spraying anything in late bloom. botrytis is definitely a problem where it rains.

on another note, looks like there was a power surge on my block. the subpanel that has my AC and ventilation hooked up to it tripped. the lighting panel, on the other hand, did not. it got hot in my veg room. damn hot. it was 120° when i came in there. and it had been that way for the better part of four hours from the looks of things. fortunately it happened in the lag time when veg is on and bloom is off, so my flowers are going to be fine.

although i've had no indicia of BM for months, anywhere but in quarantine—and even though i wouldn't advocate this technique, it looks like i gave my moms an unintentional heat treatment. just hoping the heat stress doesn't set me too far back.

This one time situation will not harm anything. I know everyone does not have the resources or experience to do this but I have a "wireless" surveillance camera in the flower room looking at the thermo and plants that I can see from my bedroom TV and one of the first things I installed was a wireless smoke/heat detector connected to my security system. I then installed a relay connected to the power supply to the lights that will shut off the lights if the temp reaches over 86 degrees. I know everyone can't or won't do this however it brings me great piece of mind as I live in a very hot dry area.

Soil Drench with Kontos.... Systemic action with Zero Stress ....

These guys are now a joke to deal with ... Do whatever it takes to reduce the initial population down as much as possible... heat treatment... Avid... Triple Action Neem... Pylon.. etc... one application of any of the contact killers should give you enough time for the Kontos to work its magic... and from that point on... all you need to do is apply this stuff once in veg once you have them under control and you'll be stress free finally ..

I got a liter of the stuff for $250! Thank You Panda Land for thinking patents are whack :)

at .5ml - 1ml per gallon... shit will last forever

Oh yeah and it protects against Root Aphids... systemic action... cant ask for anything more

+1 Avid for sure, even in the medium to kill fungus gnats. I did a test at 4 ml on a 6" clone in rockwool. They actually looked better the next day, leafs all perky.

Damn a liter for $250, mine was 8oz. $200 at my local store.

Really Storm?

You're saying that no spraying needed, Kontos soil drench will take care of em?

If so, that's really amazing. I have a couple strains that really don't like any sort of sprayed miticide.

and sometimes it's hard to get every inch of a room's foliage even with an atomizer. so proper coverage issue solved too with the kontos drench.

Do you have any photos from your BM test room?

avid is only 100 per 8oz online, same with floramite and all the rest.

anyone check out sirocco? its a combo of the active ingredients or floramite and avid together.

floramite is bifenazate, been doing some research on it and it doesnt seem that dangerous to humans. they did tests on rats and dogs and drenched and fed them up to 1000ppm for 90 days and no deaths, only rats showed a little damage to livers.

avid is still up for debate, lots of people on other forums claiming that they know big grows who spray up to week 5 of flower and even the labs cant find any during testing. it says avid shelf life is 28 days but when exposed to sunlight only lasts 6 hours...

as a last resort to other methods it doesnt seem as bad as some make it out to be...i would still refrain from smoking any buds treated with anything in flower but in veg seems reasonable.

You're either organic or you're not......there is no "almost".

LOL....understand your position. But life are not a set of absolutes (black or white, for me or against me, hot or cold, sweet or bitter)...rather life are is all about "shades of grey". Besides, IMHO, there is nothing wrong to dopt the best practices from all disciplines (organic, synthetic, biodynamics, etc).

Nothing wrong being a 90+% organic grower...is it better to be 100%? Sure if that is your goal, but my goal is to grow the best quantity/quality I can.

Cheers!

I am not harshing you on your growing or your meds. Whatever
you choose to use to get the quality you want is and should be up to you.

There is no such thing as "almost" organic. Its like almost pregnant. You either are or aren't. This bastardization of the word is part of the reason it means so little anymore.

Standards that patients depend on to get the medicine they need should indeed be black and white and NOT shades of grey. My .02.

I'm not trying to bust your chops....this topic is a button. Clearly ;)

Cheers to you as well!

im scared shitless right now guys. this is a critical moment for my grow. i have 16 hydro plants that just flipped into the flower room. i treated with forbid two nights before. i will treat with avid/forbid mixed tomorrow. they still have a bit of BM damage here and there, but they are growing nicely and have awesome roots. i will treat chemically up to week 3 then switch to ogbiowar and a hotter flower room (gonna get some fluffy nugs this run, but i need some personal smoke). i just flowered one hazy og (same strain i have in hydro now) in soil and it had BM's when it went into the hot flower room. i managed to kill them all and get an awesome and dank harvest from that plant, so i am hoping hydro goes the same. i have barely enough to cover the electric bills that will come from flipping on 2000w's so i definitely dont want to waste it.

my earthshaker og i picked up from PO are really battling hard. half were weaker looking clones and they died off. i have 4 right now in coco cups that look like they will for sure live. the strongest is the first one i put in coco. i have been going hard with microbes and i have her very well rooted. i've also given her aspirin, silica, and food and she looks 100% better than when i got her. there is even new growth. i've been dipping all the earthshakers every few days because of how badly they were infested. i've dropped the quarantine on them now though because im pretty sure i killed a ton of bugs.

one of the pics uploaded is my hydro crop that just flipped from that room to the flower room. the other pics are older hazy pics from this hydro crop that show some of the damage
