If your tap water is not so hard you can use it. For hard I mean a value over 0,6 mS/cm.
If your water goes over this value you can try to use specific fertilizers classified for ''hard waters''.

Condensed water from the air conditioner can be used, but there could be pathogens because it was exposed to air without any kind of disinfection, like chlorine in tap water.

All depends on what type of hydro you will use, your tap water will not work.
You can use rain water, destilled water, ro water, deionized water, etc. Also some 5-6 lt. comercial water are cheap and low in us/cm but you need to test it to be sure.

destilled/deionized water (for iron & car battery) that you can find @ any super market is good?

Yeah it's good. Just watch out for the chlorine inside. I found it in cheap deionized water.
Also smell it before use. Some contains perfumes.

1700 umols^^

What the hell is that?

parts per million is how hardness is measured

Personally, I change my RO membrane before 50ppm

Who knows what third world country mineral suppliers buy from (or whether there is a safety standard) then sell to our municipalities

No matter what method you choose to grow mmj with, if your water is 1700ppms, you need a powered commercial grade RO with multiple 2ft membranes= $$$$$$$$$ so, you will need to buy a lot of bottled water. Many companies deliver in 5g jugs

The difference in cost between purified water (filtered)and RO is probably not that much

Hi Pet, μs is short (usually) for μs/cm or microsimens = Electroconductivity.
Microsiments is better for checking mineral concentration than PPM, since all ppm meters that we use on Hydro what really read is Electroconductivity and make a convertion to PPM, that convertion is tricky and changes from ppm vendor to another, between ~0.5 (ec to ppm) to ~0.75 (ec to ppm), so basically PPM changes from pen vendors, ec does not, is always the same.

Laboratory ppm is different tho. (weight, dry, weight)
